Incredible result getting her started after so long, Great original condition as well, brilliant
I was gobsmacked to start so easily. Probably helped been stored in a dry heated garage all this time. Yes, it is in very good condition. Hopefully, by this summer, I will drive her. Restoring the car will be on my other channel, Old Skull Garage - Build it
So glad I found this channel
Thanks :)
Wow …This is so strange I know you won’t believe me but cross my heart I have just been offered a 1985 escort 1.3 ghia one owner with 54k on it , it was last on the road in 1993 ! It’s still in the garage it’s been in for 30 plus years and it’s pretty immaculate…so how weird I came across your vid ha ha .
Your cars great well worth saving I love it 😇👍
Oh wow. It's quite cool to find something so similar to this escort. Did you already pick it up ? Would be nice if I could come along to film it. Longs as you are not million miles away 😊
I had a Gold 1.6 Ghia, Really cool cars these days and yours is looking very good.
Yes I quiet like the mk3 shape. It's is in very good condition. Luckily, they kept it in a dry and heated garage. Saved the car for sure. Will be working on it this year. So hopefully I can drive it before the summer ☀️
My first car was a gold 1.6 ghia.. so jealous. would love one now..
Just discovered this channel, subscribed straight away
Thank you 😊
Cool! this one is a really similar spec to mine white with blue/gray interior.
5 door as well ?
@@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShow yes! mine is a 85 with a few different materials in the interior and a sunroof.
@@yesimhuman I love sunroof till they leak on old cars 👍 I have a Mk3 3 door as well. Bravo spec 1.6
My first car was a 1984 MK 3 escort 1300L bought in 1992.
Worked all over that engine as an 18 year old with a Haynes manual. Ignition module was it's major down fall but at 45 quid a pop from Mally's Ford spares it wasn't too bad. Not exactly an ECU
It's great to hear that, Paul. I passed my test in a Mk3 Escort 😊 Good to know when somebody had actual experience with these engines. I only started the engine , and the car got parked up until I fixed it up. Feels like a solid car. I own a collection of Ford's, so one day, I will be parked up in line with all the models from the 80s 😁
@@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShow those CVH engines can get a little noisy, they have none adjustable tapits on the top end. Used to drive me mad on tick over sat at the lights. Battery tray rotting was a common fault too. Passenger footwell used to get soaked. Are you doing a full restoration on it? If so keep me informed and also the price should you wish to sell her. Try find my second car too if you can. Renault 5 turbo 2. Like rocking horse shit
@paulwilliams5296 Yes, the hydraulic tappets are not adjustable on them. Luckily, modern oils are a bit better for these engines. The battery tray is good on this car. I will do a full recomission on this car. Part from the rear valance, there is no rust. So try to keep these original as possible. I don't think I want to sell it in the near future. But if I do, it will be shown here. Funny you say Renault 5. Check out the channel. I am actually racing one 😁 The one on the channel is mine 😊
Heyyy there 😅 yeah I've seen it 😳 btw just remembered ours had an automatic choke and that was a nightmare 🤪
I don`t like automatic chokes. I prefer the manual. Once auto choke goes wrong. That`s it. Pain to get it fixed and they never work properly :D
@@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShow Yeah true , tbh we had it converted to manual but still no joy it was a mobile mechanic that did the work on it and think he was bit of a cowboy 🤠, we ended up going to a small claims court to get our money back 🥴
@garyestcourt2377 oh dear. You did not have much luck with that escort 😳
@@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShow You can say that again 😅😅😅
@@garyestcourt2377 :D
Only 400 views that so sad I deserve so much more Man U work so much for ur videos
Thanks. Hopefully TH-cam algorithm picks up my videos. Fingers crossed :)
I have a 1993 charade g200 1.3 16v rs sat on my driveway in Lincolnshire if anyone wants a challenge, needs a little work for the mot but well worth doing,
Solid car, runner,
You will not find another of these rare 90s hot hatch sleepers in the UK,

@@OldSkullGarage-MotoringShow I'm not on Facebook, is there an email address or other contact on your Facebook if i ask someone with Facebook to look on my behalf
So what do you do with them once you get them started? Are you selling them on or are you restoring them?
I`m only actually bought the Mk3 Escort. The rest of them they invite me over. Escort will be restored to go back on the road. I`m keeping that one. Luckily the other cars I will be put back on the road soon as well by the owners.
