  • Based on "Usseewa" and "Hold kjeften på deg", a Japanese song and a song from here in Norway, whose refrains both translate to "shut the f*** up", but who could otherwise not be any more different.

    Also, yes, handakuten on R-kana make L-kana, and certain small kana indicate that there is no vowel afterwards. You might not have learned this when you were taught kana, but tricks like these are used in e.g. kana transcriptions of Latin, and in Hokkaido's indigenous Ainu language.
    I dunno, I just think it's cool how you can use Kana to accurately transcribe basically any language, if you're creative enough.
