As a New Orleans original, I’ve see. Her many of times in the French quarter and would use my entire lunch break to listen sometimes without eating 🤭. She travels as well so she may be harder to find now days but she used to be out there literally 24/7

@@labauer5314 ah thanks man! 😅😅 Yeah I've personally been playing since November; a U-blocker that can bend notes, blow bending is a little harder but im getting the hang of it, that 10 hole is tedious lol... I've had quite the dedication of showing folks U-blockers can rock tha harp too, I can even overblow the 1 to 6 holes with *decent* tone and even set my S.P 20 honher for overdrawsI once I become a proficient player hopefully I can show people how u-block lol And yes sonny was truly revolutionary, ahead of his time even! Came across her while on vacation just walking around ,I stopped in front of her and was crying. I tried not to but was so touched ,I filmed a bit and wiped the tears , so impressed . We figured out she was "famous" and went back to see if she was playing again a day later . As we approached they were packing up . I asked us there someway , will she be back tomorrow? And her sweet voice said , "not till Thursday "and I asked if I bought her cd would she ....and yes she said " This is for you" and sang "When You're Smiling " and I cried the whole song and hugged her . She is amazing and inspiring. I've read up on her now ! She even has a dinner theater event were she cooks for you and plays for you !
From the U.K. I can't knock Tuba Skinny, but Doreen's Jazz band is something special. Also, there's as many whites enjoying the music as black, whereas there's not a black face to be seen in the Tuba Skinny videos. (It's New Orleans after all.) I'm glad You Tube reacted to my comments. Tuba Skinny are good, but why eat sirloin, when you can get fillet? Best wishes to both bands.
