Aussie pride right there. We love our Farnsey as we have all grown up with his music being in the charts for 6 decades. There is something for every generation with so many great songs covering many genres to discover from him. Try Help, live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Pressure Down, It's a Long Way to the Top, Please Don't Ask Me, One.
You will discover that just about all of John's music has meaningful lyrics with great messages of solidarity, peace or love. All delivered with passion and more energy than the energiser bunny. It was a pleasure watching your joy of discovering this amazing performer...

It's a Long Way to the Top ( if you Wanna Rock'n Roll ) with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is to me the best performance I have ever seen by so many talented artists on a single stage at once. The vibe at that concert of John and all of the brilliant musicians is simply beyond excellence it's raw entertainment at it's best. Plus the way the Orchestra interacts is totally so much fun to watch. Seeing so many talented Artists having so much enjoyment is captivating and simply mind blowing ! ❤😁

This was an unofficial Aussie anthem and it never gets old. John is the greatest male vocalist of all time. His stage presence, seemingly unlimited vocal range, mic control, his vocal agility and passion is epic. He’s such a great performer there for the music, the band and the fans. John loves his mic and mic stand tricks, throwing the mic stand meters in the air and catches it while still performing, incredible. Whenever you see John playing with the mic stand and winding it up you know he’s about to do something with it. There are a lot of John’s songs that have this positive vibe and inspiration. Personally I wouldn’t worry about the studio version, although great, John is so much better live. Welcome down the John Farnham rabbit hole, once you open it you keep digging.

Anyone who does not move to this has to be unconscious. Ditto many of Farnsey's other songs. Especially Long Way to the Top with the MSO. . Yes, bagpipes, and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. John is gold , pure gold. This show was late 80s, when he was in his thirties. He was still belting it out when covid pandemic shut everything down. His backing singers and his band - all professionals in their own right. You'll never get better than this. (Farnham - pronounced as in Barnum). March'24. UK. E❤

Thank you for your delightful reaction - totally made my morning! Welcome to the Farnsey rabbit hole. I saw the concert when the tour came to Brisbane. John Farnham (pronounced Farn'm) always over-delivers, but this concert was next level! I was on an endorphin high for a week. I was seated side-on to the orchestra, and they were having so much fun! I mean, inside every classical musician there's a headbanger trying to get out, and that was on full display, especially in Long Way to the Top!
So, from the same concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (pronounced Melb'n - we Aussies are the laziest speakers in the world):
    *It's a Long Way to the Top (ACDC cover);
    *Playing to Win
    *Help
    - That's a start, anyway. It's a bloody big rabbit hole. John will put a smile on your face every single time.

Powerful lyrics with a meaning and a statement song came out in 1986 and still has stood the test of time and still relevant for the times when live in now. Yes bagpipes Scottish John is an amazing singer can sing anything such a powerhouse when you hear more of Johns music you will get to see why the band Queen asked him to be there frontman after Freddie passed he said no. Such stage presence and he adores his fans and us him. Live way best to react to john you get the banter and his personality just shines through. John is 75 now and recovering from mouth cancer and chest infection so us fans wish him a good recovery and praying for his long road he is on ahead 🙏 we all adore him and his music such a humble down to earth guy with a phenomenal voice. Thanks for youre great reaction getting Johns voice and music to more people. 🇬🇧 JF fan

This song 'The Voice' is a true anthem that has stood the test of time. It was written by a gentleman in the UK in the 80's at the time of nuclear weapon protests.... he slept in and didn't make it to the protest, so he wrote this song...... John found it, recorded it and it has now passed into history as a true 'We are the voice' anthem...... NO politician, government etc can stand against the masses when we all rise up and demand change :D x

This song could be an anthem sung in the streets by all young people who march in support of gun restrictions and the bagpipes might garner some attention. Apart from the brilliant collaborative performances of John, his band and incredible backing singers with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, I love the cut away shot of the harpist when he sings his arrangement of the BEATLES song “Help” in this concert, but actually laughed out loud when I first noticed the glockenspiel during the this concert when he sang the AC/DC song “It’s a Long Way to the Top”. John’s music always brings out crowd participation and he loved it. Check out John singing In Days To Come, where the words of many greats like Dylan etc and MLK are incorporated… very moving (the studio version is great but I loved the live performance better). ❤️ from a new subscriber. PS: Another great Aussie group that doesn’t get a mention very often is The Black Sorrows and a great introduction to them is “Never Let Me Go”.

John is my favourite male vocalist (1. John Farnham 2. Freddie Mercury 3. Elvis Presley). I love watching others react to John. I have seen him in concert 3 times, and he always put on a fantastic show. John was singing right up until age 70, before ill health hit him a couple of years ago (he is 73 now). John can and does and will sing anything. Hell he could even sing the phonebook and make it a No.1 hit.
He sings all and every Genre there is out there and has always put 110% into every song he sings.
He is a well known chameleon who has also song with many greats over the last 60 years and has a lot of fans amongst the Big Boys and Girls with legendary names around the world.
Once you go down this rabbit hole you will become a fan, from Celine Dion, Tom Jones, Ray Charles, Richard Marx, Queen and he has also impressed big names like John Lennon, Sammy Davis Jr. as well as him taking recordings back to show and impress his fellow Rat Pack members Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
Celine, Tom and Richard are big fans and wanted to organise to do gigs with John. He did a little improv with Ray Charles to keep the crowd happy while there was a mess up with Rays ear piece. Brian May from Queen and others gathered with John during an aussie relief event. Rumors are that Freddie Mercury was a big fan of Johns too which doesn't surprise me since they both have a deep love for entertaining the masses.
There is also many gigs with fellow Aussie Legends as well.
Check out Ray Charles, it was an awesome song they did together.

A bit on John (Australia’s former King of Pop) - Born in the UK in 1949, came out when 10 to Melbourne Victoria, Australia. Same sort of history as Olivia Newton John, who was born in the UK in 1948 and came out when 5 to Melbourne. Both worked in the industry in Melbourne in the 1960's and eventually Olivia ended up back in the UK and then the US. John became the King of Pop with the 1967 hit ‘Sadie the Cleaning Lady.’ He was in the LITTLE RIVER BAND. John had his chances to work in the US but wanted to live in Australia. Queen wanted him to replace Freddie Mercury, but he declined. www.smh.com.au/entertainment/john-farnham-asked-to-join-queen-report-20030804-gdh7j9.html He is now in his 70's and sadly went through a 12 hour operation for throat cancer losing part of his jaw back about the same time his dear friend Olivia died in August 2022.
Jimmy Barnes (Australia’s former King of Rock) was born April, 28 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland. His original name was 'James Dixon Swan' and his father was a featherweight boxing champion in Glasgow. In 1961/62 his family moved to Australia. After playing in a school band (he replaced Bon Scott (who joined AC/DC) as lead vocalist in the band Fraternity. Then, aged 16 and a half, he joined Cold Chisel in 1973. First they played the pubs of Adelaide, then they played the pubs of Australia and finally they got a record contract in 1976. Now, Cold Chisel are Australian history - one of the best bands Australia ever had. They split up in 1983 because they thought they weren't playing good music anymore and they didn'twant to rip their fans off with another album.
Here's another jam with Jimmy Barnes and the late Michael Hutchence INXS 'Good Times' Live th-cam.com/video/TimxLOW922o/w-d-xo.html

John Farham is real Aussie icon for about 40 yrs..he is loved by allAussies....glad u brought up about how things are in USA and all shootings...I would love this song as logo song for democratic election as all the words are spot on and people parents to children and others dont want ...living in fear and looking down barrel of guns...thank God we dont have openly purchase of any guns here.

This is what happens when ignorant people learn about other people's culture. This music has been happening for hundreds of years. Good for this Man for his reaction.

Scottish bagpipes. The crowd is upwards of 10 thousand people. They usually have massed drums and pipes bands, like in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Google that.

First time watching your reactions. It was great to see your excitement and energy watching this. You should check out "Help" by John Farnham with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (Beatles cover). Also Kasey Chambers performing Eminem's Lose yourself. You will love it.

This song is an anthem - a call to stand up against against nuclear disarmament- but can be applied to other causes, and 'down the barrel of a gun' can definitely be applied to the ridiculous USA gun culture which has caused so many injuries, deaths and trauma. You all need to stand up and get rid of the second amendment! John Farnham is a singing genius and a number of his songs are dedicated to the greater good for the world. Keep reacting to John Farnham and his many fans will be there with you!
