You missed him throwing the microphone stand up in the air and catching it again. He then threw it down the stage so he can pick it up with his foot. Thank you for doing it live. Great reaction.

Yep you stopped it right when he was a out to throw it. Hardly any reactors see him do it. The ones that do without being told are amazed. You need not just to listen but to watch John perform.

John is loved in New Zealand as well he stayed within Aussie with his music also doing a few concerts here in NZ. In my opinion he is the best live performer ever to grace a stage, he just has everything. This legend can sing any genre of music, he loves to involve the crowd, sing whilst bending down shaking hands belting out the high notes no problem, I don't think you noticed but in this song he throws the mic stand up in the air quite high then catches it (not many reactors notice it) and he throws in a bit of comedy.
John has given our two countries 50+ years of awesome entertainment & we thank him for that also we wish him a speedy recovery from his mouth cancer. This icon is called 'The Voice' for a damn good reason & that is because he's the best there is. His range is unreal, his skill to bring in that grit when needed then take it away is perfect, if you attend his concerts you're in for a bloody great time John just loves to perform to his fans. A few more songs you have to check out are 'When The War Is Over' th-cam.com/video/BekbvlLzMWc/w-d-xo.html, 'Pressure Down' th-cam.com/video/XG5ezoIAOmU/w-d-xo.html, 'That's Freedom' th-cam.com/video/JWjtlMBl3Xo/w-d-xo.html, 'Angels' th-cam.com/video/5_2NJRIdBO8/w-d-xo.html.

Fantastic reaction. It was clear you were blown away by it as much as I always am. I just love this recording of his signature song. His energy is picked up and shared by everyone on stage as well as the entire audience.
If I have one nitpick about this recording, it's that they cut away from several of his mic-stand tricks, which are almost as much a part of his show as his voice and stage presence. I think it comes from his pub-entertainer days. In this performance, early on where he raises the stand over his head, he has just done a baton twirl like a cheerleader. But the picture had cut away to the crowd, so we missed it. After the piper completes his solo, and before he tosses the stand across the stage, he has just done a toss and catch with the stand doing a double flip in the air. But it's hard to see, because the camera has switched to a view from the orchestra and John is tiny in the distance. We see the catch, but it isn't obvious what's just happened. We do see the foot flip pick-up, which you commented on.

You should also do his version of Help from the same concert series. John doesn't ask the audience to sing. The audience knows every one of his songs word for word from the opening bar and start singing. He loves and appreciates it that he always gives them some staring moments to take over. Get well John. We miss you. ❤️❤️

I think it's fine watching the studio version and then the Live one because then you see that unlike other performers, John actually sounds BETTER live....that's so incredibly rare. I could tell you were wanting to sing along but was maybe holding back because you didn't wanna take away from the video. I hope you let loose off screen though because he's so much fun to sing along to :D

I am going way back now, but the song John released in the 60’s “ONE” was when I realised John was not just a Pop singer, he had a talent that was going to mature with his fans. He is loved by generations of Aussies. There were many overseas greats like Sammy Davis Jnr who urged John to take himself to America and eventually he did dip his toe in the water there and maybe if he persisted the World would have seen and heard what we did, but I am glad he stayed local as he toured and filled stadiums all over Australia regularly. AND, let’s not forget the incredibly talented performers and musicians this humble man surrounded himself with and collaborated with 👏 👏 👏

I love your reaction, such an intelligent and insightful commentary. Watch this again, and when you see John screw the microphone stand, know he is going to throw it into the air and catch it. Your pause was when that happened, it’s worth watching that part again to see it. Later he lifts it with his foot, the part you saw. Cheers.

Australia’s 1996 National Firearms Agreement (NFA) banned several types of firearms and resulted in the government buying hundreds of thousands of the banned weapons from their owners. Studies examining the effect of removing so many weapons from the community have found that homicides, suicides, and mass shootings were less common after the NFA was implemented, although such incidents were declining prior to 1996. The strongest evidence is consistent with the claim that the NFA caused reductions in firearm suicides, mass shootings, and female homicide victimization. However, there is also evidence that raises questions about whether, for at least firearm suicides, those changes can be attributed to the NFA or to other factors that influenced rates of these outcomes around the time the NFA was implemented.

6:14 You missed the best bit of his technique by pausing at 4:59 (in your video's time). He throws the mike stand in the air and catches it again, then throws it to where he is picking it up at 6:14. He said his mike tricks came from playing clubs in the 80s, trying to get people's attention away from the poker machines :)

This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol
A couple of songs worth checking have been mentioned below, plus these are worth a look also.
Notice how he holds the mike below his chest, both mikes are a metre away, which he does all the time to not drown out the other singers.
John and Lisa Edwards, a top singer in her own right, and one of John's back up singers for 20+ years.
    Angels..
    th-cam.com/video/5_2NJRIdBO8/w-d-xo.html
This one with Olivia Newton John, who we have recently lost. John has also had major cancer surgery including removal of part of his jaw and we may not here him sing again. So let's enjoy this one as well..
    Please Don't Ask Me..
    th-cam.com/video/2uV_tZODfK8/w-d-xo.html
And even when he is singing with one of the most powerful voices on the planet he still put the mike away from his face and closer to Jonny Diesel.

John's management had to beg the English song writers of your the voice to let John have the song, they didn't think he was good enough to sing it. How wrong were they.
John manager " Glen Wheatley " sold his house to pay for the recording of John's album " Whispering Jack ".
John voice is so strong that the audio guys had to dumb down his microphone so that he wouldn't blow out the pre amp.
