    Have been using PSP for years now, but your video explained so much more than I have been able to figure out on my own. Thank you so much.

    This was a huge help to me even after I've experimented on my own. I've ordered a better scanner and have just installed a digital tablet. Maybe will upgrade from 2019 to 2021.

    If you need to de-speckle a large area use the DNR sparingly by first selecting the area you want to work on. Also stay away from faces and highly detailed areas.

    Great tutorial on PSP. However the digital noise remover can blur the image to an unacceptable level. Keep in mind that the chemical reaction on film photography never ends. Prints continue to react to humidity and heat. In doing so, the image deteriorates which leads to a softer appearance. (hence ghosting where the image has begun to fade completely) Therefore we restore our customers photos with a goal of making them sharper, not softer than how they came to us. A good high resolution photo scanner goes a long way toward achieving our desired goal. Our techniques take a bit longer but the results are great and our customers are amazed.

      You are correct. The digital noise remover removes the noise but in the process, will add some blur. It is one tool that is available and depending on the settings, might be enough to help, but yes, we always have to balance the pros and the cons of every tool. Thanks for bringing up that detail.

    Instead of trying to do the nose area you can copy the good side of the nose and flip or mirror it and paste as a new layer since each side of a nose is the same!

      That might be an option however, one has to be aware that the lighting might differ. If it is the same, it sure is a good option to consider.

    I have PSP 2021 Ultimate. Scratch Remover doesn't work for me. That is, after I drag it, it simply disappears; the scratch is unchanged.

      Sorry for the delay in responding. What was the width of the scratch remover tool? Also, it might depend on where it is used. Does it "not work" on every areas or only on some?

    Can you fix and old blurred photo?

    • @CreationCassel
      @CreationCassel 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think one can really fix blurred photos. You can try to sharpen them, but it will only work to a certain extent if the blurriness is slight.
