    You could have put the 9mm barrel in the .40 slide. Both barrels are the same OD. Plus the spring is the same. You could have saved a few hundred dollars. You will need 9mm mags though. 9's are a little sloppy in the .40 mag.

      @Fred Wills I think that would be possible, but I only purchased the whole slide parts to keep it complete and easy to swap out. I don't think I have seen a conversion barrel that goes from 9mm to 40, only the 40 to 9mm. Which why I have the whole slide assembled.

      @@Espi68One well I come at gus from the view of fun /hobby collection, protection . Please don't take any of this personally, like I said I support whatever you want to do. From what I have read and the little research iv done .it looks like you can just get conversion barrels . but I understand why you want hole slide. But if your going to pay for the most expensive part of the gun, why not get the rest of it so if you have a problem someone can help defend you. Also I can justify a 9mm or a .40 but not both. I have made that mistake kinda by accident , but that story doesn't matter 😆 the 9mm comes out on top for me because of price, availability and you can put more of them in a magazine . As a matter of fact I just purchased two 3.6 frames and plan to build them up for the two separate 9mm slides.
      Also I can justify a 9mm or a .40 but not both.
      I can understand from a certain point of view, I shoot many calibers, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, 9mm, 40S&W, .223/5.56, .308, 12 guage, and the would be the reason for two calibers.
      I have made that mistake kinda by accident , but that story doesn't matter the 9mm comes out on top for me because of price, availability and you can put more of them in a magazine. I handload my ammo, (gonna stop with the price of primers, but that will be determined later), so cost is a 50/50 issue, but yes, 9mm is lowest in cost to shoot.
      Idk I understand loving the shield plus , I love mine. But I don't know why you wouldn't

    I have a M and P .22 Compact . was wondering if you could change the .22lr slide/barrel into a 9mm slide/barrel? I know you can change a Glock 17 9mm into a .22lr , but wanted to know if you could do the same 🧐

    • @Espi68One
      @Espi68One  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that would factor a lot, 1. the slide to frame interchangeability. 2. The magazine interchangeability also. The best way is to find out is to use a 9mm compact and see if the parts will fit. I could not give you a definite answer on the compatibility of those two models.

    Did the reverse: Could not find 40sw 2.0 sc (10rnd.)
    Have the 3.6 40sw (13rnd)
    slide on a 9mm. sc frame.
    It is good to swap the grip "tool" to a 1.0 version, because they are not split in the back and stab the heal of your palm.
    ( got a Rem sport 357sig barrel as well, 90grn. Xtreme defence are LOUD!) I bought some new 357sig brass that I can load with 40sw and 9mm. dies but can't resize and load.....yet.

    • @Espi68One
      @Espi68One  ปีที่แล้ว

      Swapping between 40S&W I understand is just fine, but moving to the .357 Sig is gonna add some beating to the slide, (unless it's made for the .357 Sig), it just a higher pressured round. I have considered it for my Glock and this 40S&W M&P, but change my mind after some reading. I am not sure if the 1.0 tool will fit, but if the cost is not too much, just a small amount of $$ wasted. I will probably not load .357 Sig, until I do buy a .357 Sig. I do understand the S&W did make a 1.0 M&P in .357 Sig, but I would be interested a in subcompact GLOCK. Need to look around. I eventually build up to frames for the 9mm slides.

      @@Espi68One I think I figured out what you are referring to.
      When 357sig came out; a few reloaders attempted to convert 40sw brass into necked down 357sig brass. The neck is not long enough( to support the bullet ) and the web is not thick enough to support the added pressure. A few loaders could pull it off with light powder loads and 115grn. bullets.
      357sig brass is usually made from cut and necked 10mm.
      brass. Incidentally, 40sw brass has become thicker and stronger as well; it is believed this is due to earlier Glock chambers that did not fully support the case and caused
      KBOOMS. Our M&P pistols were always designed around the 40sw. cartridge. The 9mm. versions are in fact, overbuilt as a result. All Glock 5th gen 40sw models are now built to the same 40sw dimensions as Smith and Wesson pistols.
      Oh, one more thing, 10mm and 357sig can have large or small primer pockets. I would prefer small so as to have more base behind these "higher pressure"
      loadings.

    • @Espi68One
      @Espi68One  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have read that there essentially no difference in the frames, as long as you run a complete 40 slide, meaning a 40 slide and a 40 barrel, you can only run 9mm in a 40 slide with a conversion barrel. Watch my videos on 40C/9C. But do a bit more research as I have gone from 40 built pistols to 9mm. I have not gone 9mm to 40.
