@@wreckagevic Nope, same, same, just a bigger hole at the end of the barrel. I have a 40C 1.0 that was converted to a 9C with just a barrel swap. Slides are same, just accommodate different barrels based on 9mm or 40.

@@Espi68One yeah I have a 2.0 3.6 and heard it only needs a factory 9mm barrel and 9mm mags so I’m debating on giving it a try

@@wreckagevic I would not recommend it, it will function, BUT, the small little differences in the measures around the chamber DO NOT give it a complete seal and you can have headcase separation, better to get a conversion barrel that locks up with correct measurements. So I have been told on forums. Better to be safe then sorry.

@@daveshadenuff187 Yeah, I got into this “kick” of building my M&Ps and just like any hobby, it got really going. I have “Not”really noticed a significant difference in either, except maybe the price. Which I think is the reason they made the flat in polymer, I have the curved polymer on my 1.0s, because the price was low, only got the aluminum if was a good price. The performance model is a personal build, not factory. Agreed, I just love to talk about how the cloud is a benefit, but somewhat a hindering, due the needed online connection. Currently not working in IT, obtained a "record management" position for the time being. But working on other IT knowledge and skills.

I think the relative size of the G20, compared to the 5in M&P is a smaller footprint. So I think, give a good holster design and angled correctly, I think it would fit just fine.

I think I purchased the slide for under $200, and originally, I was planning to configure it for an optic and purchase a 2.0 later, but since it worked. Plus I wanted the option to carry with out and optic.

You would need to used separate 9mm and 40S&W magazines, as the feed lips and follower are different sizes, the frames are the same size as well as the magazines, so your could inveterately use a 9mm with the 40S&W slide and vice versa. I have now build 9mm frames for both the 9mm slide, so the 40S&W is stand alone now. But the slides will work with the 40S&W frame. Roughly about $350, I think, I have crushed the numbers, but, I ended up getting a frame with the 9mm slide, later, and cost was about $150 to build.

yes, I did, turn around was long on the last custom job, about 11 months. ( th-cam.com/video/RHnl8IvKPyo/w-d-xo.html ) I would consider him for some work, but turn around might be long, so if you don't have a secondary pistol for carry/range, you might consider a temporary replacement.

@@steveblaszczyk2100 He is very hard to get a hold via email, since he is sooo busy, look over his order progress section, doing a lot of work. Only thing you could do is put an order in and if you have specific instructions, include them with the slide. Look under Custom Slide Milling options, several options available.

I normally don't recommend going from lower to higher. But if, you have a complete 40 slide and want to run it on a 9mm frame, it should be fine, my understanding, is that 9mm and 40 frame are the same. Now, one exception, going from 1.0 to 2.0 or vice versa. I have run a 2.0 slide on a 1.0 frame, but the other way. One other thing not recommended and often said, using a 9mm in a 40 slide, it will run, but the barrel fitting is very slight, and can cause cases to bulge, which can lead to some issues. Review my shield videos, for more info on running a 2.0 slide on 1.0 frame.

I have shot the aluminum more, but when comparing them both, along with the curved triggers, there is no difference. The “poly” in my opinion is easier for to install, so cost wise, it is a better choice, but the aluminum look nicer, I just got those “poly” since they were less cost, which is a best choice, if you want to install yourself and save some $$.

It is more of a personal choice, but based on COST, I would go with the “ poly”, easier to install and provides the same performance. I went with the aluminum originally, since those were the only flat faced, but on my next two builds, I will go with “poly”.

Of course, BTW, removing the safety from the M&P is relatively easy, and you just add the safety plugs. I prefer no safety, as it assist in drawing to shoot, one less obstacle. I understand most prefer a safety, but confidence in training and learning your firearm goes a long, there are many people who carry GLOCKs with confidence. I would never remove a safety from a 1911 or an AR.

Swapping between 40S&W I understand is just fine, but moving to the .357 Sig is gonna add some beating to the slide, (unless it's made for the .357 Sig), it just a higher pressured round. I have considered it for my Glock and this 40S&W M&P, but change my mind after some reading. I am not sure if the 1.0 tool will fit, but if the cost is not too much, just a small amount of $$ wasted. I will probably not load .357 Sig, until I do buy a .357 Sig. I do understand the S&W did make a 1.0 M&P in .357 Sig, but I would be interested a in subcompact GLOCK. Need to look around. @@Espi68One Uh...nevermind. Why would I tell you to use the 1.0 tool if it didn't fit? Secondly; 357sig is interchangeable with 40sw. Bolt thrust and chamber pressure are two different things. Are you from California or something?

@@almaadams3631 Texan all this way. I have read that .357 Sig is not a good round to use as conversion from 40S&W as it is higher pressure round.

@@Espi68One I think I figured out what you are referring to. When 357sig came out; a few reloaders attempted to convert 40sw brass into necked down 357sig brass. The neck is not long enough( to support the bullet ) and the web is not thick enough to support the added pressure. A few loaders could pull it off with light powder loads and 115grn. bullets. 357sig brass is usually made from cut and necked 10mm. brass. Incidentally, 40sw brass has become thicker and stronger as well; it is believed this is due to earlier Glock chambers that did not fully support the case and caused KBOOMS. Our M&P pistols were always designed around the 40sw. cartridge. The 9mm. versions are in fact, overbuilt as a result. All Glock 5th gen 40sw models are now built to the same 40sw dimensions as Smith and Wesson pistols. Oh, one more thing, 10mm and 357sig can have large or small primer pockets. I would prefer small so as to have more base behind these "higher pressure" loadings.

Definitely a good EDC bag, stuff you cannot fit in your pockets.

It runs great, no issues, most of all my 2.0 M&Ps have flatface apex, only one has curved, but still runns good. If you plan to install one, get the poly flatface, much easier to install with hammer and punch, the aluminum one requires a vice to install. But if you have the tools, vice, you can do the whole with ease, since you need to install the plunger under the rear sight. Highly recommend the change.

I have not made time to set them up, but the one feature that I really like is the full hook/loop, so you can carry additional items. I am looking build one up with a kydex holster/mag for a shield and an older firestar. Just have not made time.
