Smothered Baked Chicken Recipe: How to make smothered baked chicken Clean chicken thighs (by removing yellow fat, clear slime under skin, cutting excess fat, and rinsing with water) Chop up 1 large red potato in small cubes, and 1 medium onion, and 1 small green bell pepper into small pieces. Pre Heat oven to 350 degrees Place vegetables and chicken thighs into baking pan Season with 1 Tbs Seasoning Salt, 1 Tbs Garlic Powder, 1 Tbs Parsley Flakes, 1 Tsp Onion Powder, 1 Tsp Black Pepper, and 1/2 Tsp Thyme Massage seasoning in well Add 2 Chicken Flavor Bouillon Cubes and 2 Cups of Chicken Broth Bake chicken for 1 hour Remove and sit chicken aside Stir in 3 tbs of Flour.....then place chicken back into baking pan and bake until gravy thickens.... about 30 mins Smothered Baked Chicken is best served with egg noodles or rice

Tried this last night and it was delicious. Marinated the chicken 4 a cpl days, took the lid off n the aroma filled the kitchen n it smelled so gud. The skin tasted better than any I've ever had. My mom js keeps bragging abt how gud it was. Great recipe Phillyboy 😀

I made this last night and me and my wife loved it. she said the gravy and the potatoes was the best part to her. she's didn't care of the skin on the chicken so next time I think I will go skinless and also from my love of Disco fries I thinking of topping it off with Mozzarella cheese to take it up a notch. Skin side down first and then flip halfway through. On the next flip put it under the broiler to broil and crisp up that skin. that's how I do my barbecue chicken or any other baked chicken thighs.
I use a small amount of poultry seasoning as well because I don't like dried time sticks you get mostly a bottle of sticks! I use ground thyme which works just as well and can take the place of poultry seasoning.
I made this tonight. Very good. I used one can of broth and one bouillon cube since I made 4 chicken thighs. Next time I will go straight by the recipe.. Very nice Jay!!! Make more videos please!!
Ok, ok, ok you have outdone yourself! I would never have thought to make smothered style chicken in the oven that way. Save a lot of time adding everything to one pan. Thanks for sharing!
Just made this. Mistakenly used tablespoon instead of teaspoon pepper, but still tasty. Will also use a more shallow pan. Had to add more broth and water. Will make again. 👍

Yum ... one suggestion Or question as to if it would work better... instead of adding the flour to the pan and fighting the clumps, can u s take some of the liquid out and make a rue (just flour mixed in so the thing becomes real thick and pasty) then add that back to the pan. I think that would mix the flour in better with out clumping.
