I'm turning 30 this year. Listening to this makes me realize how fast the years have gone by, but also how much I treasure my childhood, and the (probably already distorted) memories I have from it. I deeply cherish those summer nights I spent with my Pokémon Pearl, playing side by side with my little brother, who had Pokémon Diamond instead. We had separate beds but I still ended up crossing to his bed anyway so we could hide under the blankets, DS on our hands, and fool around in the Underground for hours, sometimes jokingly challenging the other to finding the best items. Blessed be this game, its music, and the people who made it. I pray that the memories, the things I felt, never leave my mind or my heart until my last breath.
Indeed, being from the same generations with similar memories, I can also feel the nostalgia you just described. Today's kids will hardly understand the simplicity of older games, which still relied on our imagination more than on graphics
I'm so happy that I have the same memories as you, but with my little brother. While I played Diamond, he played Pearl. Some nights, I would bring my mattress and sleep on the floor next to his bed so we could play Pokémon together and share our achievements. Exploring the Underground was also a blast. I remember showing off my base and he was super impressed. Those were truly incredible times! Also turning 30 this year... enjoy every moment so you can have even more beautiful memories!
That's a great memory. I recall getting Pearl on my 13th birthday. I reserved it at Target near where I lived, went to brunch at a nice restaurant for my birthday then went and got the game and my folks and i drove to a park, walked around, had ice cream, went to get pizza afterwards and then drove home and passed by a garden nursery and bought some plants then returned home. I made it all the way to Commander Mars and lost to her Purguly 3 times and finally beat her as soon as we arrived home. Was a great day.
I'm 33 and still remember playing Red, Yellow, and Silver for the first time. You hear "like it was yesterday" all the time, but don't fully grasp it until you're a bit older. It truly does feel like just the other day I went on those adventures.
Saaame. I also remember the commercial that came out advertising blue and red, with the Pokemon climbing on a link cable to get from one kid's apartment to another. Pokemon Silver was the first game I ever preordered (a whole year before the release!). I put the receipt on the fridge and excitedly awaited the day I could take it to Game Stop to get my copy of Silver. Ooooo and then remember how the games had paper manuals inside? I bet it was hard to decide if I should look at the manual first, or pop the game into my gameboy on the ride back home from GameStop.
I'm an '01 baby first pokemon game i had was LeafGreen even if i did pick Charmander (22 going 23 soon..)Funny enough I still play the very same game when I need some time to myself.
I'm turning 24 this year and I grew up on Pokemon Platinum. Me and brother shared a copy and oh man... The memories and nostalgia. I miss those simpler times so much. The good times.
Im sorry to hear that bro, and although i completely understand its nice to enjoy the nostalgia, you'll see that you have more good years to come. Peace from an internet stranger
This could be incredibly presumptuous as I don't know whats caused your life to suck, but if you don't mind some unsolicited advice from a stranger: Do something (good) radical. Move from your city to a large town, orvice versa. Heck even move to another continent if you can. It took me working full time while studying full time and working 2 extra jobs on the weekends/after my normal job to save up for it, but now I'm living in London for 2 years. It sucks and I miss my family, but it's also the most amazing and exciting things I've ever done in my life and I'm maturing so much as a person. If money is an issue, just remember that there are a lot of countires out there with a super low cost of living - and you won't be the first person taking this kind of journey so there is plenty of advice on the internet. Pain from stagnation brings you nothing, pain from change brings you the world. Change something in your life. If you don't want to go as grand as moving overseas, choose a pub, or a park, or any other place that might have regulars and become one of them. It will suck at first, and may take months to get better, but eventually things will shift.
don't say that dude. the past is a place to learn, not a place to live. you could actually be living the best years of your life right now and not realize it. stay positive and live in the moment. this life is a journey every step along the way
I'm 25 going on 26 and diamond was my first mainline game. My sister and I were 8 when this game came out and she had pearl. She didn't play pokemon after these games and I don't know how she feels about that time period or if she even remembers it that much, but it is a time I can't forget. When we played pokemon (either these games or FRLG) we didn't fight, we helped each other all the time because we were so young and dumb that some of the puzzles would stump us😅So when one of us figured it out, it was a huge moment for both of us! I still get this overwhelming feeling of warmth when I hear eterna forest so thank you for starting with that one😄
I’m 27 and my sister will be 25. This was also her last Pokémon game.. I continued playing them up until the last one they made. But Diamond is my favorite 💙
same situation, my sister was never huge in to video games like i was, but we had a conversation about it the other day and she told me how much she really loved playing pokemon and pikmin together when we were kids, she told me she got a switch just to get pikmin 4 and it made me really happy, both of us being in our 20's and on different trajectories makes you lose track of stuff like that, but its cool knowing she remembers that stuff as fondly as i do.
26 here, going on 27 in a few days. I had Diamond when I was around 10 and my younger brother had Pearl. Me and my younger bro were racing to finish the game first but I stopped after finding out my best friend, who we were also competing against, was also far in the game. Being a kid at the time, that was devastating to me since no one likes know they are going to lose, so I pouted a bit inside my head for a while and then took my time with the rest of the game. And I’m glad younger me did, it was a wonderful experience I’ll never forget. To be transported to another world like this… even if it’s behind a screen, I will always consider Sinnoh my second home away from home. Thank you GameFreak ❤
Same as u 25 going 26, and I played platinum. I haven't touched the game in... Too long a time so I honestly don't remb much of it. I'd say from my remaining memories of the game I enjoyed the mt.coronet; distortion world; Cyrus boss; giratina the most.
This game was so magical because our brains were just not developed enough at the time. The thought of an electric ghost type being in a tv blew my mind when i was 8.
More like we had more time to be creative. With technology and bills now a days. We don’t actually give our brain the creativity it needs. Take a break from video games and your phone. Go outside on walks and pick up a hobby. You can still find that inner kid in you.
@@alejandroc7357I agree. I'm 22 rn but I know that I'll always be a "kid" at heart. My hobbies (freshly picked on or from childhood) will always be the most important part of my life But I think it just depends for everyone, what is the most optimal way to find happiness.
Im only 18 and the Nostalgia is hitting me hard. I still remember when i first played Gen 4, how i always listen to these music in repeat and watching guides on TH-cam. Now I am considered an 'adult' with exam coming next week and many problems and worries for the future. I wish i could go back in time where my only worry was leveling up my Pokemon in the grass
I'm 22 years old. I was studying for a paediatrics exam when this playlist started. I can't find the words to explain how hard nostalgia hit me. I miss those days when my biggest worry was leveling up my Pokémon team and beating Cynthia a hundred times. I want to cry; I don't know when life became so stressful, or when I started worrying about university debt. But it makes me feel better to read that everyone in the comments is happy to remember this beautiful part of their lives. I wish everyone the best in their lives and don’t forget to keep working to make the child you used to be proud of you.
hey dude i am turning to 20 about 1 week later.Life became stressfull working time catch the bus catch lessons future plans....but i believe we can make moments that we are in better.
Sinnoh will forever be my favorite. I got into Diamond and Pearl when my two cousins (twins, 2 years older than me) were playing Diamond and Pearl respectively. I didn't know what a DS was, let alone Pokemon or how any of it worked because I was so young. I remember one Christmas asking for a DS Lite and Pokemon Pearl (the game my cousin Andy had, AKA my biggest role model of the time. I was like an annoying little brother to the both of them, but Andy especially). The years that followed were filled with incredible memories of playing Sinnoh with the two of them whenever we would see each other. We sought to do everything there was to do in these games, and it was a complete blast. No video game can quite match the nostalgia that these give me, and I frequently come back to play the originals for that purpose. I am now 22, nearly 23, meaning I am now older than Andy was when he passed away a few years back due to unexpected and sudden cancer development in his body. I mentioned my nostalgia, and great memories associated with these games, and them contributing to Andy's legacy in some way is a big part of that. I would not be the man I am today without Andy's influence on me, and I cannot be more grateful that I got to know, grow up with, and have fun with him. He touched the lives of so many people in his short 22 years, and I like to do all I can to spread even just a tiny bit of his influence, because the world deserves to know about him. I hope everyone who has fond memories of these games can keep them forever, because if something means a lot to you, it is effectively a part of you. Keep those memories close, and the people you share them with closer. That, and remember to keep on smiling.
Andy must've been amazing. I wished I had the same determination as you habe with sharing something/someone important. I had a really rough time about 2-4years ago. I was saved by Jesus Christ one year ago and now am in the happiest state i have ever been. He truly saved my life and gives me hope every second. I hope that everyone would give him a chance. He was the reason why I let go of my anxieties, stress, bad memories,my regrets and all the weight the world gives to one. Please I know at first it sounds unrealistic but see for yourselves if Jesus is truly the only Way,the Truth and the Life(John 14:6) that leads to salvation from death. Way too many people for this truth for it to be considered "fantasy". So pls read the gospels of Matthew,Mark,Luke and John for yourselves. Not the whole bible, but just these 4 books. See for yourselves if Jesus said the truth and if he is worth trusting in. I hope you open the door for him at least once and I pray that it may be well with you and that such a tragedy may not happen again to you. Have a blessed day in Jesus' mighty Name,Amen🙏❤️
i was widely smiling while reading this comment and about to join in that i'm 22 as well, about to turn 23, until i got to the part where you said he passed away... my face dropped 🙁 i'm sorry for your loss. the beautiful thing about nostalgia is that nothing in our present life can change the past and it stays preserved forever, we can revisit the simpler times through the music once again. he is still there in your memories 🥲
bro starting the playlist with eterna forest spiralled me into such a nostalgia trip i had to take a moment to sit …. it reflects perfectly the feeling of missing the happiness of my childhood yet knowing that i have to let go and moving on to newer parts of my life. its like the song is frozen forever in my memories and captures the simplicity of when i played it
I was 15 years old and I got pokemon pearl as soon as it was released here in italy, I was the happiest boy alive with my nintendo ds playing day and night. Good times
I remember going to my vacation home on florida and just using my imagination all the time. Whenever i got tired of playing with my toys and nintendo 64, i would go to my DS and start it up turn on pokemon pearl and just train make sure i got all my pokemon to level 100 , had fun in the battle tower. It was such a great time. Used to re battle the elite four all the time in hopes that something would change if i beat it enough times. My imagination made me think if i did so ill be able to rake Cynthia’s throne and have other players come battle me. , all and all beautiful game. Super grateful. I feel like this game had so much to offer.
Started playing platinum again this past month. I remember playing it on the DS as a kid. 23 now and it still gives me the same joy. Never grow up y’all, embrace the kid in you.
I'm 36. When these games came out, I was in college. The last time my childhood best friend was in my life. He was a pos, but whenever this music plays I can't help but get misty eyed. Sometimes I wish I could go back to 2009, just for a moment. Tell my mom I love her, and see my old friends one last time before everything went to shit.
Its November 2007 my friends in elementary are constantly talking about Pokemon Diamond/pearl everyday while I sit and listen chiming in from time to time about the specific legendary's given the guidebook I got but still was very little info i could really talk about. Couple weeks later: when I was at Target. As a surprise my dad asked if I wanted a Nintendo DS and a game to come with it I knew immediately what to get: and that was Pearl. I remember leaving the store excited grinning really hard. The smell of the rain coming off of the ground. We went straight home I unboxed my DS did not care at all about the Manual or features. I put in Pokemon Pearl and I spent the next 2 days with very little sleep playing my 1st ever Pokemon game. :)
i miss sitting next to my brother and showing him what pokemon i caught and finding a silly names for them. we were so young. i miss the awe and excitement i felt. i miss when my heart still didn’t ache. i wish i could sit there with him just one more time.
Today is my 21st birthday (March 10 for those already in March 11) and this appeared in my recommended as i was trying to find a youtube video to eat lunch to. This made me cry because of all the good memories i have from pokemon as a child. My first ever pokemon was Flame the Cyndaquil in heartgold. And ever since he evolved to a Typhlosion, Typhlosion has been my favorite pokemon.
my brithday is march 10 as well brother im only a year older but man do i feel you on all the good memories being brought back. My favorite is treeko but sinnoh holds a special place in my heart.
This reminds me of my late night sleepovers with my best friend, we would battle all the time, we were young so we got lost on the main story alot, and youtube wasnt really that big back then so all we had was each other for help, i still remember when it wss time to go home, we would always see how far our ds's would go before disconnecting
omg the seeing how far you could go until the ds’s disconnect !!!!! i used to do that all the time u just brought back so many memories :) and it was always when it was time to go home !
I'm 22... I was born in 2001. This is the first Pokemon game I've ever played. This OST collection breaks me up, as my childhood hasn't exactly been the best. I basically grew up alone, and by alone I mean like, without all of the experiences and adventures a kid MUST go through. This game was, among the others, something I used to escape from reality.... playing as the protagonist, reading all of the dialogues, always being at the center of everyone's attention (in game) made me feel what I couldn't feel in real life... And thus why this collection breaks me up. Because growing up, I realized how lonely I was. Completely submerged inside this and other games, their adventures, their stories, the friendships, always thinking "one day... one day I'll experience all of this in my life". I'm grateful for this game, but at the same time, the less I think about it, the better
I feel like I had a decent childhood but as I get older (i’m 23) the lonelier I feel and these osts just make me sad. I wish it was easy for me to have genuine friendships.
25 here, it was my first too! took a few years for me to get a ds my family was pretty lower class my whole life, but once i had this game in my hands i was unstoppable
Honestly this is what I needed for when I'm working from home. This really takes me back to those long nights with my cousin, we were both 9 years old when Sinnoh was released, and late nights were spent playing together, taking on the same routes and gym battles at the same time, I remember when Platinum came out, we both sat on the bed, counting down when we jumped into Giratinas world at the same time, I miss it..
Anyone else ever stopped in eternal Forrest just to listen to the music? Can’t believe it’s been almost 20 years… I sound old when i say it, but time flies faster than I could imagine. Blink twice and almost 20 years had passed. Keep safe y’all 🫶🏾
Feel you! Platinum was my first Pokemon game and I can’t believe that it was 15 years ago now. I remember when my best friend and me played it together and were mesmerized by the mysteries of Sinnoh.
This takes me back to being 10 years old, when this game came out, and playing Pokemon diamond every single night until I beat it again and again. It makes me realize how fast 15 years have gone and how much I cherish the simple and less worrisome times of my childhood. Bless this game and Pokemon ❤
This title hit more than it should. Ngl, it was the reason why I clicked on this video. 34 Male from Germany here, red was somehow of course the edition I wished so much from my mother, that she couldnt say no. It was magic and I will never forget the feeling of getting this game. Thank you Satoshi, you cant believe how much you influenced so many children around the whole world.
I’m 27 going to be 28 in a few months, and Sinnoh games had a big part in my childhood. Out of all the regions I’ve played, this one seems to be the most nostalgic to me. Maybe it’s the slower easier pace, or the music, or how things with the legendaries make the world of Pokémon more large and important. Regardless, I owe a lot to Gen 4; they may not be my favorite games, but they sure are fun and memorable
I'm 22, trying desperately to pass a college chemistry course so i can get a degree in biology... I miss the days when my biggest problem was running through the grass and praying I didn't get stopped by 2 dozen bidoof on my way to the next town because i'd just gotten my butt handed to me by a series of route trainers. 😅 One of my fondest memories of Pearl/Diamond is finding a shiny Ponyta IN THE RAIN because I had been grinding and inadvertently shiny-hunting as well due to continued battling. I was so stunned and proud.
Same here. I’m in comp sci now just started. I feel kinda weird and lost because I thought I knew what I was gonna do but, now I doubt myself. All I know is I need to find that path again
23 years old and grew up watching the Pokemon anime and trading cards on the playground. My aunt owned Pokemon Diamond, and I thought all her Pokemon were so cool. I'll never forget opening this game along with my black DS lite on Christmas 2006. I remember I actually restarted the game because I reached Oreburgh and wanted to catch an Onix, but my party was already full. I didn't realize I could store Pokemon in my PC. Oh, and I was also really frustrated that I couldn't get past the rocks in the cave about Jubilife. I remember asking my dad what to do. He took my DS for a bit and then handed it back to me, saying, "I don't know either bud, your Pokemon look pretty tough." It's funny looking back and realizing that he too had no idea what to do. Also, one of the first Pokemon I ever caught was a Shinx. I tend to avoid physical electric types, but I still really like the Shinx line just because I liked it as a child. As a kid, I named my Shinx "Showtime" because it looked like he was wearing a suit/tuxedo. To this day, I name every Shinx I catch "Showtime." I never actually beat the game. I was an impatient kid, so I just broke the thing with action replay codes instead. Years later, I sold it to buy Smash 4 on my 3DS, since I thought I had "grown out" of Pokemon. Years after that, my brother gave me his copy of Platinum when he lost interest in Pokemon, and I played it in college. It was fun to finally do what my kid self could not: best the Sinnoh region legitimately and take down Cynthia. Now, years and years and years later, I feel emotional listening to this music. Listening to it, I wish that I could go back to those days of childhood wonder. I remember hiding under the covers at night, battling with my Monferno and trying not to let my parents catch me. I remember going to all these major cities and being wowed by how cool and new everything was. Nowadays, life is so stressful. My car is always having issues, I'm always losing my money to taxes, and groceries just seem to get more and more expensive. I'd give anything to be a kid again, getting lost in the Sinnoh region and staring slackjawed at my DS. Sorry for rambling. I just saw other people sharing their memories of the Sinnoh region and I wanted to share my own. If you've read this far, feel free to reply with your own goofy, stupid, and/or emotional memories of these games. I'd love to read them. And thanks for reading through my memories, I guess.
Lemme tell you little bro, it's not too late to continue talking to them about pokemon. Take this time to value what you have right now. I'm 22 and would love to experience my teenage years again when everything was so new. Everything is still so new to you, we can miss those times but as you are still a child take a deep breath and remember what you still have. No responsibilities and all the time in the world to just enjoy the day. Do your schoolwork and when that's done you get every moment after to yourself. Don't chase girls (or boys) either, let it come naturally and don't force anything that doesn't NEED to happen. This is what I've learned at least since being 16. Life gets better, just... different. Time is non-renewable unlike money so always put time first and spend that time doing things you love. Highly recommend learning an instrument, it helps with retaining memory as you get older and provides alot of relief playing video game music especially on piano. Take care.
I had just left my home right after high school and on my own for the first time going to a community college and right around this time Diamond and Pearl came out, I managed to set aside enough money to purchase a DS and a copy of Diamond with my part time money from working at Target (rent was tight that month but sacrifices were made lol). This game was a bright light in an uncertain time in my life and I will always be grateful for it.
I have a love/hate relationship with nostalgia, it makes me sad that things can't be the way they used to but I'm also happy I got to have those experiences in the first place. Boy am I being hit in the feels right now though, life is so tough sometimes and I want nothing more than to escape to the simpler times. Good luck to everyone else in their life's journey, I hope we can all come to live happy lives. ❤️
Pokemon Blue was my first game, but Pokemon Emerald was my second and to this day my favourite. I remember the fact there were two separate evil teams just absolutely amazed me back then.
My brother gave me his copy of Pokémon Pearl when I was 8. 15 years later, and not a day goes by that I don't think about Sinnoh. I had no friends or family to share these games with growing up. My family never showed interest, and all the kids at school said I shouldn't even be playing Pokémon. Aimlessly wandering the Safari Zone and the slopes of Mt. Coronet, I caught Pokémon I'd never seen before. I have so many memories of just wandering this region, doing anything I just so happened to come across. The melancholy sounds of this region will live on in my heart for all time. Gen 4 forever. 💙
Fellas, please stop missing "the good old days". Somehow, somewhere a version of you is looking back at you right now with fond memories in hand. Just do your thing and don't worry about time will ya?
I need to play Pokemon again. I've always put it off because i always feel like i dont have time and that i should spend the time that i have doing things that are productive. But sometimes you just need to take some time for yourself, do something you enjoy even if it doesn't seem productive.
And suddenly there is the moment when, unknowingly, you play your pokemon game for the last time and close your DS, only to not touch it again in years. Then you're packing up because you're moving house only to find your old DS again, see that your pokemon game is in the ds and restart the game for the first time in years. only to be buried in childhood sentiments and memories.
This is something that's common with people from all around the world and of all groups. I myself am a 20 year old Turkish guy, but I share my childhood memories with people all around. It's magical.
eterna forest really hits you with the rain ambiance, also the lake music. snowpoint city. you started with my 3 favs in the game! thank you for the goodness
Even though i played up to Black and White, the music from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum always gives me the biggest nostalgia, even more than the older games, which is weird because i wasn't even a kid at that point lol, the music just makes me think of my childhood.
It is not only raining here in Germany right now, there is a devastating hailstorm! That being said, I am 24 years old and grew up with the 4th generation of Pokémon. I love the soundtracks; they are so euphonious! 🎶
kms i’m crying this was my childhood game. piplup was always my choice bc this was the only pokemon game in my ds that time and all i did was replay it😭😭
My favourite pokemon game. In my early teens exploring sinnoh in 2006 and taking in the atmosphere. I couldn't wait to level up my team and battle my friends. I really miss the pixel era of pokemon. Thank you for this Tsuki
25 years old, medical doctor, I will always feel nostalgic when this music plays. I've spent hours playing Pokémon games in my sea house during summer.❤
2009 Was easily the happiest year of my life, thanks in large part to these game and the friends I enjoyed them with. I'm 23 now and miss those days very much.
my big brother introduced me to the world of Pokémon, and his love for the game made me a fan too. I guess I still play it so i don't lose that feeling I once had playing it as kids with him ever since he passed.
24, born in 99 and i miss these days more than anything. i miss having time to play the slower versions of these games (non emulated rom hacks) this is beyond nostalgia. this makes me so happy and sad at the same time. i hope my kids can experience the perfection of pokemon the way i did.
26. Platinum was my first Pokemon game. Will always love the Sinnoh music most of all. I'm lucky enough to work from home, and you've just given me the most relaxing music to listen to while writing my emails. Thank you.
i had the most fun memories with the sinnoh games i would even meet other kids my age with their ds and trade it was the most fun i had with a pokemon game ill never forget it
I remember when i was 6 years old i never understood pokemon in english or its concept, so i didn't play it. Then i returned to the game when i was 10 years old and played it on my DS, i remember me and my little brother were at our grandparents farm for 2 weeks on summer vacay, and we traveled on a road trip from norway to a hotel in sweden to visit our cousins/uncle/aunt, we made really good memories, and did so much together. i remember playing a lot of pokemon diamond and spending the whole summer getting to elite four haha, such good memories. wish i could go back
when i got to twinleaf town at the end i just couldnt hold myself and broke in tears, remembering the mistakes i made, how jobless and desperate i am right now and how carefree and happy i was used to be when i was a child, playing on my ds. i did have some suicide attempts and the only thing that stopped me was the fear of physical pain, but somehow, seeing that a lot of young people nowdays are in the same situation fills me with a weird kind of hope and relief even though its hard to see, i wish the future holds greater times for us, internet friends
Checkpoint. Andrew, 26 yrs old. eating kapsalon in my room after gym and playing ping pong with Andrej, also after work at the office. Vibes are chill ... remembering how I used to play PSP with my sisters and how I used to play games on my PC after school all the time . . . :)
I remember walking through toys r us as a kid and seeing glaceon and leafeon featured for the first time in a little Pokémon booklet along with this game, and then going home with the game and meeting up with the other neighborhood kids who also got the game, and sitting under a tree in the yard on a sunny day to play our hearts out. Such good carefree times ❤
All the nostalgia in these comments, and I am just sitting here, happy to have had the time with the games that I got, and looking forward to new things.
I'm turning 27 this year I remember my mom got this game for me on my birthday it was the only thing I asked for.. This music really makes me sad but happy as the years go on Im not good at expressing myself but it just makes me happy there are others here to comment and share there stories like my story was my birthday I wont forget (P.S thank you for the upload) Have a good day/night everyone :^
22 y/o here about to graduate with a bachelor's degree. Growing up I poured hours and hours into this game. I remember my parents expecting me to grow out of pokémon and move on to "real life" as I got older but I still haven't! I still have my DSi with me after all this time, and I still love Sinnoh.
I also got my bachelor‘s degree at 22, two years ago. I guess my parents also expected me to grow out of this stuff but I‘m still the same person as I was as child.
I'm 19 and it was my first pokemon game , I grew up with this 4 generation and I love this license when I listen to these ost again I'm filled with nostalgia and happiness, what could be better than listening to the ost of the forest of vestigon or the ost of Voilaroc?
I need to refind my DSi, Platinum was my first Pokemon game and I remember being so frustrated in trying to get out of Twinleaf. Not realizing I had to talk to Barry first XD half an hour...stressed...only to wander in front of his house and get ran into by him
Hope you guys liked this little playlist if you'd like to support my work check out my Ko-Fi page (helps to keep the lights on) ko-fi.com/tsukibeats
Love ya guys, keep walking the good path
I'm turning 30 this year. Listening to this makes me realize how fast the years have gone by, but also how much I treasure my childhood, and the (probably already distorted) memories I have from it.
I deeply cherish those summer nights I spent with my Pokémon Pearl, playing side by side with my little brother, who had Pokémon Diamond instead. Indeed, being from the same generations with similar memories, I can also feel the nostalgia you just described. Today's kids will hardly understand the simplicity of older games, which still relied on our imagination more than on graphics
Im turning 17 soon and life is going too fast
crazy how important a simple game can be to so many peoples lives
The fresh, metallic smell of rain passing through the window screen.
Whoa, this really happened to me.
My favorite smell is the memory of that smell
metallic? u should move that's poisonous
wait that bug spray smell from window screens??? it was so gross
Dude. With 11 words, you just unsurfaced several dozens memories. Wow...
🥲
I am 23, i was Born in 2000...
Sinnoh music from 2009 was my first nostagic moment... (Pls Enjoy your life with your heart)
Same here bro
I'm an '01 baby first pokemon game i had was LeafGreen even if i did pick Charmander (22 going 23 soon..)Funny enough I still play the very same game when I need some time to myself.

Same, I am 23 about to be 24 this year. Sinnoh imo is the best region cause of the music, the lore and the fact it has the hardest champion fight
Time sure has flown by :(
It has but hey atleast we were able to experience it ❤
Nostalgia means you had a good time!😊
Don't frown, friend. Appreciate it with somber glee. Smirk while the backs of your eyes burn!
@@Darebearlovesbug I love that
I'm turning 24 this year and I grew up on Pokemon Platinum. Me and brother shared a copy and oh man... The memories and nostalgia. I miss those simpler times so much. The good times.
Damn this hits… I wish everyone the best in life who is reading this
Man I had no idea these would be the only good years of my life.
Im sorry to hear that bro, and although i completely understand its nice to enjoy the nostalgia, you'll see that you have more good years to come.
Peace from an internet stranger
This could be incredibly presumptuous as I don't know whats caused your life to suck, but if you don't mind some unsolicited advice from a stranger:
Do something (good) radical.
Yeah as a 90s kid I relate to this. You only know how good something was when it's gone
don't say that dude. the past is a place to learn, not a place to live. you could actually be living the best years of your life right now and not realize it. stay positive and live in the moment. this life is a journey every step along the way
I relate to that. Life is full of tragedy and complex traumas. I didn't realize it when I was young and innocent.
I still get this overwhelming feeling of warmth when I hear eterna forest so thank you for starting with that one😄
similar situation, but I had pearl and my sister had diamond. We would always trade pokemon because of version exclusives. Goood times :'-)
My hobbies (freshly picked on or from childhood) will always be the most important part of my life
But I think it just depends for everyone, what is the most optimal way to find happiness.
The new Pokemon games are also trash, compared to what we grew up with
Ain't no way you all nostalgic about GEN 4 keep it down kids
@@Basmupopli everyone that is nostalgic about it is an adult
sinnoh in my heart. it makes me so happy when i was a child!
The nostalgia is real Sinnoh was so peaceful !
You’re not the only one in this situation the nostalgia is real ❤
ikr, life hits hard. Take me back to the simple pokemon days
Man you had barely been born when gen 4 came out, I feel so old 😂
Im in the same boat but life goes on whether we want it or not
It only gets worse. LOL. I wish I could be 18 rn
I wish everyone the best in their lives and don’t forget to keep working to make the child you used to be proud of you.
hey dude i am turning to 20 about 1 week later.Life became stressfull working time catch the bus catch lessons future plans....but i believe we can make moments that we are in better.
thanks for the words man wish u the best in ur life too
Sinnoh will forever be my favorite.
I'm so sorry for your loss
My name is Andy and I also have a younger who I played these games with, he is your age now, sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing bro
i was widely smiling while reading this comment and about to join in that i'm 22 as well, about to turn 23, until i got to the part where you said he passed away... my face dropped 🙁 i'm sorry for your loss. the beautiful thing about nostalgia is that nothing in our present life can change the past and it stays preserved forever, we can revisit the simpler times through the music once again. he is still there in your memories 🥲
bro starting the playlist with eterna forest spiralled me into such a nostalgia trip i had to take a moment to sit …. it reflects perfectly the feeling of missing the happiness of my childhood yet knowing that i have to let go and moving on to newer parts of my life. its like the song is frozen forever in my memories and captures the simplicity of when i played it
Bro just casually describing what I just went through.🥹🥲😂
True
Amen 🥲❤❤❤❤
First 3 songs hit different
I remember playing Pokemon diamond and just walking around those areas for the sound track
As Pokemon Platinum is my favorite Pokemon game, this hit me right in the nostalgia. Thank you so much for making this!!
Platinum was my first pokemon game and one of my favourites too - glad you liked it! Hoping to make some more in a similar style with Unova next

Courage j e suis comme toi dans une moindre mesure
I feel like I had a decent childhood but as I get older (i’m 23) the lonelier I feel and these osts just make me sad. I wish it was easy for me to have genuine friendships.
25 here, it was my first too! took a few years for me to get a ds my family was pretty lower class my whole life, but once i had this game in my hands i was unstoppable
Honestly this is what I needed for when I'm working from home. This really takes me back to those long nights with my cousin, we were both 9 years old when Sinnoh was released, and late nights were spent playing together, taking on the same routes and gym battles at the same time, I remember when Platinum came out, we both sat on the bed, counting down when we jumped into Giratinas world at the same time, I miss it..
we did the same thing
I was 9 years old too😢
I was 12 years old.
I'm 30.
I don't regret anything about this good time. Thank you bru 🥰
See You next time.
I grew up on Gen 4. This makes me happy.
The time is RUNNING guys. Do your best outside
Thanks man ,
Perhaps I, and many other souls needed it.
We will find our way brothers!

Im 22 now, pokemon platinum was the first game i bought myself as a little girl
I feel so nostalgic, i was so happy and free back then
Feel you! Platinum was my first Pokemon game and I can’t believe that it was 15 years ago now. I remember when my best friend and me played it together and were mesmerized by the mysteries of Sinnoh.
nothing will ever give me back the magic that was playing NDS Pokemon at night under my blanket. good times...
2:42 RIGHT THERE!! thats it, i looked at turtwig for a hell of a long time but i chose chimchar, and that was the start of my first adventure
One of my fondest memories of Pearl/Diamond is finding a shiny Ponyta IN THE RAIN because I had been grinding and inadvertently shiny-hunting as well due to continued battling. I was so stunned and proud.
Same here. I’m in comp sci now just started. I feel kinda weird and lost because I thought I knew what I was gonna do but, now I doubt myself. All I know is I need to find that path again
I really miss the 2D sprite era of Pokemon...I want it back
Agreed! 2D sprites still can look amazing.
This region truly was magical, OST was on top too
23 years old and grew up watching the Pokemon anime and trading cards on the playground.
To this day, I name every Shinx I catch "Showtime."
I never actually beat the game.
And thanks for reading through my memories, I guess.
with you bruda, im with you
Born in 1999 and while I played Gold, I didn't get fully involved with pokemon until I was given Platinum and a DSi in 2009. This hits so hard
Damn bro. I'm 16 and I remember back when I was 8/9 years old and used to talk to my buddies about pokemon all day. Really miss the good times ❤
Take care.
I remember when I was 16. You still have your entire life ahead of you! Enjoy the most you can!
I'll turn 27 this year. I played these games on release... I miss those simpler days (sorry for my English)
Kein Problem, Alter.
I never played this one! now i feel like buying it!
Just do your thing and don't worry about time will ya?

wow I just turned 24 and this brought me right back to playing this game, it was my first ever pokemon game too so it's just that much more special
I‘m also 24 and it was also my first Pokemon game :D
This track really brings back memories. Clicking this video was like stepping into a time machine
I remember being 2 years old and my siblings all got DS Lites and I watched them play Pokemon Diamond and Pearl together
Sinnoh was my first introduction to pokemon and it will always have a special place in my heart.
kms i’m crying this was my childhood game. piplup was always my choice bc this was the only pokemon game in my ds that time and all i did was replay it😭😭
God bro those first three notes of the video put a huge smile on my face. Sent me right back to seven years old playing Platinum on my bed
Perfect music for some web development mornings. Awesome mix!

I can’t remember when I played this as a kid but it’s in the 2000s, I’m 26 now.

Listening to this gave me some heavy nostalgia, Pearl and Platinum were my first Pokémon experiences so it's always a treat to hear the OST again
every song is so layered and emotive its wonderful
It's actually raining right now, it's the weekend and I'm in bed with my Switch
Sinnoh is realy the last way to remember good day's... day's with love...
I’m 27, and hearing this soundtrack takes me back, it’s funny because I can remember everything about my life at that time… time really does fly 😢😊
I remember when i was 6 years old i never understood pokemon in english or its concept, so i didn't play it. Then i returned to the game when i was 10 years old and played it on my DS, i remember me and my little brother were at our grandparents farm for 2 weeks on summer vacay, and we traveled on a road trip from norway to a hotel in sweden to visit our cousins/uncle/aunt, we made really good memories, and did so much together. i remember playing a lot of pokemon diamond and spending the whole summer getting to elite four haha, such good memories. wish i could go back
These songs are absolutely wonderful. Makes me feel nostalgic
Good memories. Love the music from Gen 4
when i got to twinleaf town at the end i just couldnt hold myself and broke in tears, remembering the mistakes i made, how jobless and desperate i am right now and how carefree and happy i was used to be when i was a child, playing on my ds. i did have some suicide attempts and the only thing that stopped me was the fear of physical pain, but somehow, seeing that a lot of young people nowdays are in the same situation fills me with a weird kind of hope and relief
even though its hard to see, i wish the future holds greater times for us, internet friends
Checkpoint. Andrew, 26 yrs old. eating kapsalon in my room after gym and playing ping pong with Andrej, also after work at the office. Vibes are chill ... remembering how I used to play PSP with my sisters and how I used to play games on my PC after school all the time . . . :)
Got hit hard with Nostalgia. It's a nice feeling to look back on happy moments and look forward to even better ones in the future :)
Such good carefree times ❤
only now am i realizing how much time i spent on Route 210. hearing this track after god knows how long shot me back to elementary school
All the nostalgia in these comments, and I am just sitting here, happy to have had the time with the games that I got, and looking forward to new things.
Thanks Tsuki! If only I could return to when I was a teenager, playing Pokemon on the simulator after class... Memories bring back memories.
I'm turning 27 this year I remember my mom got this game for me on my birthday it was the only thing I asked for.. I was playing generation 1 as a child.
Pokemon pearl was my first pokemon game ever and I will never forget the feeling of playing it for the first time :)
I need to refind my DSi, Platinum was my first Pokemon game and I remember being so frustrated in trying to get out of Twinleaf. Not realizing I had to talk to Barry first XD half an hour...stressed...only to wander in front of his house and get ran into by him
