I mean, at the end of the day, whether you like a kit's look or not is SUBJECTIVE. I do think the kit looks great. However, I appreciate how you try to sound objective in this review though, unlike some other reviewers when they dislike a kit and they paint it at the worst light possible.
something said here makes my brain hurt 'feels like a master grade from 2015' like yeah, I know you mean it feels old but 2015 was a GREAT year for master grades, Gundam X, Origin Gundam, Hyaku Shiki, Wing Fenice, red warrior.
Jack Sack and it’s not like we’ve gotten too many completely new MGs after 2015 to compare it to (and some of those kits you mentioned are variants of older kits, like the Red Warrior and Wing Fenice)
I hope this is a base for them to make a GM Cannon II. Hopefully with proportions that don't hurt the kit's mobility [i.e: not too anime accurate]. The frame of the chobham armor really does add that bit of spice to make the kit standout.
With the CHOBAM armor, it's now the BIG CHUNGUS Gundam. I really like how clean and sharp it looks as a kit in both of the versions you can have for it. Gonna have to pick one up eventually.
I just bought this kit and I love it. My only complaint so far is that the blue cap over the V-fin will pop off at the slightest touch. Makes the building process a bit frustrating once you put on an arm and have to search for that part because it popped off while moving it.
For the huge rifle may you can super glue a small earth magnet on the backpack & rifle and have it go in the backpack at an angle? That's what I did with my HGUC Tristan.
Say what you want about the kit, I don’t think we have had part separation like this for any other MG. I would’ve liked to have water slides compared to sticker decals. Who knows we might get a MG Ver. Ka where it could potentially be more screen accurate. I am happy we did get another main character Gundam Mobile suit though, I’d love to see a MG Atlas Gundam From Thunderbolt.
Different strokes for different folks. I think this kit looks great, but then again I'm a bit older and grew up with robots that looked like this. Personally I think designs like the Destiny are hideous.
I'm 39 and loving the RX-78-2. The 3.0 is one of, if not the best MGs out there. The design and everything. Just wish this could have went somewhere along that route. This, by the looks of it, could have easily been a RE100 kit.
He's not kidding, the wrist is fragile, mine snapped. I'm trying a scratch build wrist. Im doing a custom anyway so if all else fails I'll probably give him a claw hand.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the design for this kit was all or partially ready years ago, but they’ve only decided to produce it now having to make way for the RG line and other new series kits along the way

I'm not a fan of the overall design, but the layering of the kit with the outer frame for the heavy armor is really kool. Would love to see more kits like that.
I want to come forward and show my support for the aesthetics of this kit. I prefer mechs with a bit of weight to them and I feel this does a good job of capturing that pre-AU chunkiness of Gundam designs.
This kit does not deserve the backlash it’s getting for the proportions, this is anime accurate and I love it. These pre AU Gundams are great though, love the chunk.

Didnt think this one was supposed to be even broader :'). I still really like the look of this kit btw despite calling it 'slightly too broad'. I dont really see it as too broad when its not directly next to the 1.0 and besides that this looks better in every way from the 1.0 as far as ive seen.

can that back skirt be seperated to move independently? asking as the barbatos lupus and lupus rex have conjoined front skirts, with little ball pieces in there that are cupped by that 'cowling' piece. is this the case here with the nt-1 alex?
From the way it moved, I think its most likely a bar connecting them. To separate them and not have them fall off every time you look at the kit, you'd probably have to do some pinning or you'd have the cut the bar in half, attaching pieces that could work like ball joints, then modify the inner frame (or what ever holds the back skirt in place).

Just repeating what I said in TheKrowSama's review: This should also be Bandai’s chance to redeem the Tristan, after that s***-tier HG that we got in 2017. And I don’t mind it being P-Bandai; considering its bad reputation (due to how the OVA went and, as mentioned, its crap HG) and thus only few people wanting it. Otherwise, I can see a few pro builders modifying the hell out of this to make their own Tristan. P.S. With the announcement of the MG Barbatos, I wonder is we are gonna get a broken V-fin for it too, considering it tends to break its V-fin quite often too. :P

The infinite dimensions conversion kit looks so much like the Master Archive design except for the shoulders which look so wrong it makes me want to cry.
Anyone having problems with their 2.0 wrists? Maybe I stuck them in too deep but now they’re super tight. To the point where the wrists break off. Any solutions to this before I snap off my other wrist?
the proportions are pretty dreadful when it comes to anime accuracy. The head is probably the worst offender with it's cheek guard design and larger faceplate spoiling what made Izubuchi's design so great. Also why did the shins get shrunk down so much??
Seriously, I'm not sure why so many people think this thing looks anime-accurate. It's a nice kit, but the design is a far cry from the original line art.
I don't like the looks as well....proportion just looks off and I think Katoki did a better job redesign the looks on GFF figure. Even the RD ver looks better. The only thing that catch my eyes are those Choham Armor inner frame, it does looks cool tho. Otherwise, easy pass for me.
It's kinda weird that they retained the original proportions for a 2.0 when they also added the new opening shield gimmick and the faceplate mask from the SD Alex

I don't like to hate on a kit. But man, NT-1 looks waay too chunky to me. I think the best way to describe it is that it looks like it's wearing its dad's clothing. And I suspect if they ever do the mudrock it will be based on this so hmmmm. Other than that it has some cool features and that Chobham armour definitely makes up for its sins. I think Bandai rushed this and put their focus on making it support the armour gimmick. If you look at the proportions of the Alex in the GFF line, I feel that serves its form better. Funny why Bandai didn’t choose to do similar waist balljoint like the RX78-2 Origin or 3.0 where all the skirts are easily moved and stayed in well. That side skirt gives me of the early 2005 kind of vibe.
I think this kit itself looks awesome, just wish it had a different color scheme (painting, I know). The navy blue outer armor really doesn't look good with the bright blue toes. Still, really cool kit.
i took my mg alex out and tried to compare by eye to the reviews of alex 2.0 and from what i can see i really wish they didnt make alex so bulky like in the chest, backpack, torso and waist.
You missed a point of articulation in the waist which increases the range of the ab crunch. Check out Mecha Gaikotsu’s review for a clearer explanation
I quite like the anime accuracy. The inner frame for the armor was a cool idea but just made it look way too bulky, particularly in the arms.
The beam rifle looks like they took a FAMAS and un-bullpuped it.
It looks so nice too because of that.

I love how chunky the ALEX with Chobham looks, I'm not gonna lie.
I genuinely think the MG RX-78-2 Gundam (Ver. 2.0) and the MG MS-06 Zaku II (Ver. 2.0) sets are super anime accurate imo.

Definitely watch those ball joints on the wrist. 360 degree turn and it snapped. Tight joints all round but the others seem well enough

This is not Anime accurate as proportions go, if it was it'd have much broader shoulders, thinner waist, thinner v fin and i think that's it?

I've seen reports of the balls on the wrist joints not fitting right, how should I sand these down? with a sanding stick, or sand paper...

The Alex needed a new kit more than the Zaku did, I hope we get a Zaku I 2.0 before we get a Zaku II 3.0. It’s just unnecessary right now.
