i like toph and scar a lot but man waff and phil make me crack the fuck up. its so cool because they're analytical but also give off "homies in the back of the class" vibes

My re-awakening into Melee enjoying was watching Grand Finals EVO 2016. Went back from there and watched everything I could, and have been watching every tournament since. Thanks, Toph 🎉

I distinctly remember freaking out watching Mango do that up b vs Leffen at Genesis 4, absolutely the most insane clutch moment I have seen live.
it's funny, thinking back to that time I was in a pretty dark place. 6 years later I'm actually really happy with where life is taking me, and Melee has been there the whole time, with Toph and Scar commentating.

Toph when you talk about apex 2015 and how probably lots of people got into melee around that time you are EXACTLY right. Beast V was the first event I watched live at all, and I definitely watched all the vods (especially armada 4 stocking Leffen). Apex 2015 was where I was fully into it. The salty suite, mango vs Leffen MM, pewpewu beating Hbox, huge tournament for amsa, and obviously PPMD fending off the Swedes and winning. This single event started a lovely relationship with this community and game.
