IMHO the WDR group is the finest jazz big band in the world these days!! Having their splendid performances available on the web these day is a very important resource for jazz fans around the world nowadays. Particularly important for those of us who are voluntarily hunkered down at home to deal with the Corona virus epidemic. Thank you very much for making these concerts and performances available. Great big band jazz. I love these performances together with those by Karolina Strassmayer!
Lovely to hear Jens Neufang playing a wonderful solo with his baritone sax, the first time I've heard him solo'ing in all the WDR videos I've watched. He's not so shy after all!!!

Great swingin’ Big Band. Germany had/has some great Jazz band over the years. Kurt Edelhagen comes to mind. Soloists used to be (usually) visiting US Jazz men. So its good to hear this swinging band jammin’ away, folks. Great upload. Dig, Enjoy & Cheers!

I have always had a soft spot for this music. I played most of the woodwinds (bari sax in a marching band is a TRIP!) from middle school thru high school and then several years after that in semi-pro swing/stage bands. I wasn't good enough to take it further, but this has always been close to my heart.
