    I‘m a fan the old school 12, 13, 16 tom setup. 👍

    Beautiful looking colour...the snare is the best and most expensive drum in the kit.

    I don't know how much of a difference adding some birch wood will make on the tom sound. I would love to hear the different woods next to eachother the same heads, mics, etc..

    I won’t lie, I’ve slept on Pearl for quite sometime. I’ve played them and gigs and open mics. My professor had a friend who was a Pearl rep. He had a Masters kit, EXL in this White Oyster looking wrap in bop sizes (10/12/14/18). And a vision birch (12/14/18) as well. Overall good quality drums.

    Great colour under lights...good sound, although I still prefer Ludwig and Gretsch.

    I love the old stand by 24x16" vergin Bass drums on any of Pearl's pro drumsets I don't like the 25x14 it's to shallow I'm use to the old cewin Vega sub sound with out micing it ive always play my Bass drums open with out a pillow pearl the best reason why I play drums 💪🥁

    What snare

  • @mrnegronis
    @mrnegronis 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is that a paint finish or wrap? Also, I think those hoops are triple flanged not die cast.

    • @paradigmshiftz7
      @paradigmshiftz7 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CR it's a wrap, and yes, they are triple flanged. It's their Fat Tone hoops

    Why 24x16 kick drum? Because 22 diameter kick drum plus 2 equals 24 diameter and 18 depth kick drum minus 2 equals 16 depth kick drum. And that's why 24 diameter by 16 depth kick drum

    Where do Music City Customs fall in the Pearl line? To my knowledge. It goes Masters. Reference & Reference pure...although the Presidential series seems to fit in there somewhere.

      Music city custom is not a Drumline it’s a Drum program which just allows you to purchase the reference in the reference pure and get a custom drum set in two weeks

    Is this just a replacement for the MasterWorks series?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      No, Masterworks is still alive and well.
      Take care, Nick

      SweetwaterSound Hey Nick, could you explain what the difference between MW and MCC then? I must be missing something.

    • @ramenthenoodle_
      @ramenthenoodle_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Will Gaines i know this is hella late but it seems like Music City customs are quick turn around, limited customization drums and MasterWorks are limitless in what you can do.

    I'll put my Tama starclassic Maple's up against any drum out there, these are nice drums but I just don't care for Pearl's mid pitch tone.

    who tuned those toms lol!

    Something about pearl the sound never seems right to me. It’s like they’re trying to copy Gretsch.

  • @roybeckerman9253
    @roybeckerman9253 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pity these don’t come standard with a matching snare, as the Reference snares sound great.
    Another drum company, just being greedy again.
    Great colour, especially under lights..

    • @ramenthenoodle_
      @ramenthenoodle_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well they’re a custom kit so you choose the sizes, shell, finish and pieces. So i mean if you want the snare, you order it. lol

  • @djoc417

      +JBHviews How? They've been doing this for over a decade...

    • @LayanRecords

      Pearl make custom drum longer than other company..

    • @AaronLevyDrums
      @AaronLevyDrums 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sheldon Assom they used to. Now they're sizes are pretty much the same as everyone else but also dw used to make deep toms too, search for one of Dw's 90's catalogs.

    • @LayanRecords
      @LayanRecords 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Aaron L ya dude... but the concept of real custom drum.. pearl started it.. Choices of wood..finish and even the hardware colour..everything.

    • @AaronLevyDrums
      @AaronLevyDrums 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Sheldon Assom Sorry man I read your reply wrong, stupid iphone. But Yes I agree that Pearl has been making custom drums longer than everyone else, I had originally thought you meant Pearl made the longer depths than any other company. I'm a doofus! lol
