  • An early morning drive up the New Jersey Turnpike and past some famous Manhattan landmarks. I'll probably never get another opportunity to drive this way with so little traffic! The video is a bit more jumpy than I'd like, but it's my fault for trying out a different camera from the one I usually use.
    Some interesting tidbits:
The bridge at the start of the video was scheduled to be closed for repairs the day after I visited.
This route passes through one of only two sections of primary interstate with stoplight interchanges. The other is in Pennsylvania.
I put a bit of advance planning into timing this one on a Sunday morning so that I would crest the Newark Bay Bridge right at sunrise (5:39 AM).
This route cost me $13.80 in tolls. Without a transponder, it would have cost $19.50.
The new WTC is clearly visible at 1:32, 2:21, and 2:55. If you ever have a chance to see it in person, especially in the early morning sunlight, it is absolutely stunning.
The 1 train passed overhead at some point late in the video, but this isn't visible on camera.
