I'm basically doing the same thing minus one infant this summer lol. Twins are 2.5 years and I'll either be 9 months pregnant or have a newborn with me and only me to take care of them all for a week 😂
A few things about herbalism. Summer is the only time all 10 plants are in season at once. Though you can buy them from the stalls in Henford and plant them under shelter. Finding the insects is the hardest and most frustrating part. Little Miss Sam has a mod that switches out the insect ingredients for other plants so you don't have to keep going back to Granite Falls to bug hunt. I'd recommend reading the books to level up when you run out of ingredients. If you don't mod it, the recipe for fertility elixir is 4 false morels, 2 sage, 1 bee and 1 will-o-wisp. The last is hard to find, but I think your best bet is the secret area with the hermit's hut. I often find bees near the public toilets near the campsite. LMS's mod replaces the insects in that recipe with rose and orchid. Good luck.
@@annarooma I may be confusing dust sprites and will-o-wisps. But I've definitely caught bees in the campsite world area during the day. Time of day definietly affects what bugs spawn, but I have no idea if the seasons affect it.
Lot 51 has a mod which spawns bugs at lots in the world you live. This works also really well. Carl has a mod to find all collectibles in the world including insects
Thank you for your help! Seasons has made it hard for my sims to complete herbalism, I didn’t realise if I just go in the summer I can get all the plants again! When she went to Uni they all bugged out of the household inventory and now I have to start from scratch but in autumn there was barely a thing, and in winter it’s pointless going!

Willow and Ash definitely should get some mountain bikes before leaving camp! Maybe as gifts from Uncle Rye and he can start to teach them how to ride. Bro James, you are a literal never-ending content fountain, I’ve been watching all the bigwallet series, and these still come out faster than I can watch them. Well done 👏
When one of your sims is about to creatively burn out, rather than having them do actual calming things, i’ve found it easiest to just sit them down at a computer and practice programming until their creative fog goes away.
koji's pj hearing aid was probably just a random assigned accessory bc Sims, but it'd be neat if you could add it to his other outfits when you're in CAS next time :)
Of course it was just randomly assigned, but James tends to go with random and coincidental things to weave them into his storytelling. I'd love the idea of Koji and Ash being deaf.
I think you should stay longer but play with the kids more like a real vacation. Since most of the plants are out of season, take a day or two just for family time. Take some photos, bond. The oldest 2 just aged up, and the younger ones are about to. It might be nice to use this as a really nice family time. Go to the park. Or switch vacations somewhere else where they can do more fun stuff for the same price, since this one was more about herbalism.
Seriously, I want Rye to give birth to those triplets James wants. Not Quinn. Then the tables turn as his sister and bro in law help raise their nieces/nephews, whatever, and Rye can name them Oats, Hops, and Bud.
Not sure if anyone has pointed this out already, but when you tell a sim to try for a baby via the phone interaction, it’s just like the normal try for a baby interaction. The reason Breanne didn’t have a baby is probably because she didn’t get pregnant.

I currently started rewatching the Bigwallet Series and I love how Lady Bigwallet was a painter (just like Quinn now) and had a photo studio (just like Breanne)
Hey just a little tip. When you have the creative fog buff they actually tell you what to do to avoid the burned out buff. I get this all the time, it's either a mental skill or a creative skill like playing chess or painting it really depends on what is written on the buff😊
Rye needs more of a storyline. He should be dating a few different sims but not committing to anyone. Then have one of them get pregnant and leave the kid with Rye. Would love to see a spin off with Rye moving to Del Sol Valley to become a famous comedian, whilst he raises his child as a single dad. Extra points if he’s raising a girl! Using all the skills he learnt living with his sister and her many kids.
I think when we finally have triplets, we should keep the plant names but instead of trees, use herbs as a reference to the herbalism skill! Lots of good possibilities, Basil , Chamomile, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Mint, Parsley, Fennel
I vote you stay on vacation and get to know the kids. They are feeling rather unloved right now lol. Maybe the kids could meet other kids there and do a slumber party on vacay?
If you choose to stay on the vacation, Fishing (for whatever reason, I guess because patience???) increases the Mental Skill for child sims and I'm p sure you're right next to a fishing spot on that lot :3 edit: Also! Forgot to say, regarding Bri having a baby. idk if it's still true, since I haven't played in a while, but it used to be that *if* the Sim calling about a baby succeeded, they would call back to announce they were expecting so I'm kind of guessing Bri did not succeed in conceiving. Should probably pop over to check, just to be sure, but I think they'll call back if/when they do succeed in expanding their family =oc
This pack + James brings me so much joy 😂 The recent gens of the Bigwallets have been so much more family oriented, in that their prospective heirs are actually being raised and not just aged up in previous James fashion. Def brought a whole new dimension to the Legacy play. 👏
I've been watching gluon play the past few weeks, and every play his sims homes are a MESS!!!! I keep screaming in my head grab and drag things, mop the puddles, take out the trash, and he leaves it in every video😭😭😭, so coming back home here and seeing you keep things CLEAN, destress me sooooo much. Thank you James for keeping my sim cleaning stress nonexistent
42:44 James, you changed the hermits house in Lady’s Life so it was in the old save. It was when Lady was trying to find a man and she went on vacation with the OG JJ, then dumped him. 😂😂😂 Lady changed it to a modern eco house and the hermit just left never to be seen again 🤣 Thumbs up so he sees!
Imagine you go on family vacation but your mom spends the entire time catching mosquitos in the woods and your dad and uncle only pay attention to your siblings so you have to walk through the wilderness to a public bathrom at 3 am 😭
James has such a handle on irl parenthood already 😂 from the noting how much more time/effort went in to one on one development with the eldest kids than the younger two because of how chaotic the rest of the house is, to the 'try to pick him up but accidentally drop him' comment which actually had me choking because God toddler's can be ROUGH with their infant siblings irl
In my experience, if you have a sim “step out of the spotlight,” they don’t gain any fame from work prompts. You’ll get a bonus and a fancy noise but no fame.
I take my sims there for vacations a lot, but I think it's definitely at the top of the list for "deserves a refresh". There's so much more they can do with it now, like add actual hiking trails and rock climbing. Maybe buff up herbalism by giving us bug spawners to use in our worlds instead of having to go to granite falls for them.
I like being in Granite falls 😊🤷♀️ But due to Seasons you won't get everything in one hit anymore, so you'll have to go back again for another holiday different Seasons to complete the collections 😊 Plus side though, the kids will be older 2nd time around 💁♀️
This is true---people are always getting that mixed up. I try to remember it by calling it the Monster Light and recalling it came before Toddlers, and so is for Kids. You can also play the Lullaby Station for Toddlers not to have nightmares.
the nightlight is for children, it stops them getting monster visits. It doesn't make any difference for toddlers. Toddlers get nightmares when they go to bed on their own instead of being tucked in. To prevent nightmares you just need to put the toddlers to bed, or kiss them goodnight. Reading to sleep also works to prevent nightmares but is very slow and not necessary.
@@glykera Yeah it depends on how much time you have. I've found that if you try reading to sleep when they're already very tired, instead of falling asleep they get out of bed and have a tantrum from being too tired. I've never had any difficulty with building the imagination skill, I just give them a small toy in their inventory so they can play whenever they want fun. The reading to sleep is super cute though and I like being able to read a bedtime story.
I'm pretty sure the puddles under the bathtub are from bathing the kids. It's a bug that's been around for a while. They just appear under the tub, so you can't clean them. LittleMsSam is our savior as always, she has a bug fix for that 😆. Before I found out about her bug fix, I'd always moved the bathtub in the build mode, clean the floor and then put it back, which was really annoying 🤣 Also, when the sim calls and ask to have a baby, even if I say yes, they never get pregnant anymore. Before the update they would also call several times a day to ask the same question, at least in my experience.
@@notnormalyet I mean, I assumed it's a bug, since you can't clean it up 😄. I don't think it's unrealistic, but I would assume you have a permanently wet floor because you don't have time to clean it and when you do, you're trying to catch up on sleep for a few minutes 😆
This was so chaotic. How do real people handle infants! You literally give me such an intense urge to play Sims everytime I watch one of your let's plays. I hope you never stop doing vids❤
You should do family stuff while on vacay like put the infants in the back carrier and explore with everyone. Also I feel like Rye acts like more of a parent than Koji does 😂 maybe Koji can bond with the kids some
I think it would be really cool to do a generations photograph, get Collum, Reginald, Anderson, Quinn and one of the kids in a photo together. As it is a family LP 😂
It would have been nice if they implemented a system into Growing Together that made it easier to get family photos- similar to the one they used to have for one of the mobile games.
@@wil554 it would be good if they made it like an event, that way none family sims would autonomously do what was required when you instructed your own sim too
So with both Willow and Ash, as you let them just do their own thing mostly and there's not alot of stuff in the house yet, they both are missing out on alot of milestones. It would be nice to see Aspen and Alder get more of that focused in their toddler stage.
Quick tip- 90% of the time you can find all or most of the herbalism plants at the garden stall in Henford, including the noxious ones. You may have to check a few times to get them all, but its a lot easier and cheaper then having to go on vacation lol
James, your puddles in the bathroom are from bathing the kids. Every time they take a bath water comes out of the tub, like in real life with toddlers lol. Maybe a drain or a bath mat?
Herbalism plants grow mostly during the summer, so you just missed the correct season unfortunately. I'd say stick to books or modify the weather to fast forward to summer.
Seeing as quinn can earn a lot of money from painting and koji makes a decent salary, maybe you can use one day of painting to make money and renovate the house to have two stories, so that rye can start living under the stairs
I was wondering if it's worth changing Alder's hair as it's the same as Ash's. I know they're different ages and in different colours but it might make it easier for differentiation! Edit: Given the older twins have now aged up and its Willow who has the same hair as Alder, I think when we're in cas we gotta make sure they've all got different hair 😂 Given Willow's hair was curly as a toddler, it'd be nice to see the curls back too!
Tip i learned about sleepovers the hard way, lock the doors to rooms you don't want random children to be in. Also, at least in my game, the kids didn't sleep the whole night 😮💨
I have never done herbalism before. When Eco Lifestyle came out I had sims constantly brewing on my grill but that is the closest I have ever been to the skill. Something new to try in my game play. I’ve only owned the pack since it came out… 😬 I did go to the hermits cabin once. Lol.
The light does nothing to help toddlers not have nightmares, it only stops the monster under the bed. Having the toddlers skill up imagination reduces chance of them having nightmares though.
Please have Ash be into collecting so he can catch 'em all 😂

Using all the skills he learnt living with his sister and her many kids.
That is such a good idea, I would love to see that!! As is now, Rye is just an unpaid butler more than anything, poor guy😅
I think this would be really cute 🥰 although I’m cool if he just found love also ❤
A nod to Semaj raising Trash during the Semaj Gets Famous livestreams That under construction house was a fun challenge to watch!
Quinn having the herbalism skill now seems like a perfect segue into having her be the most granola type of mom now. You said you like a challenge!
You can get all the herbalism plants in the Henford garden shop. You only need the insects from the woods.
If you choose to stay on the vacation, Fishing (for whatever reason, I guess because patience???) increases the Mental Skill for child sims and I'm p sure you're right next to a fishing spot on that lot :3
edit: Also!
I love that Willow aged up with an Outdoor Retreat T-shirt
"Awake and sad" is the most relatable moodlet
This pack + James brings me so much joy 😂
The recent gens of the Bigwallets have been so much more family oriented, in that their prospective heirs are actually being raised and not just aged up in previous James fashion. Def brought a whole new dimension to the Legacy play. 👏
Rye could have gone straight to Comedy level 10!
I think that's why James choose the "No thanks" option
I love how every time Quinn goes to work James wonders why she still has a job…. She needs it for her sanity!
The walking sticks are insects James and also most of the plants needed grow in summer.
42:44 James, you changed the hermits house in Lady’s Life so it was in the old save. It was when Lady was trying to find a man and she went on vacation with the OG JJ, then dumped him. 😂😂😂 Lady changed it to a modern eco house and the hermit just left never to be seen again 🤣
Thumbs up so he sees!
Imagine you go on family vacation but your mom spends the entire time catching mosquitos in the woods and your dad and uncle only pay attention to your siblings so you have to walk through the wilderness to a public bathrom at 3 am 😭
Forever watching your channel like it’s a tv series.
Idk if it’s just my game but the amount of infant cribs I place during pregnancy even with increased fertility is the amount of babies I have lol
In my experience, if you have a sim “step out of the spotlight,” they don’t gain any fame from work prompts. You’ll get a bonus and a fancy noise but no fame.
maan James made Outdoor retreat look so much fun, I kinda want to play with it now
It's a pretty neat little pack. I love making a cabin up into a holiday house for my Sims. 😊
I actually really love it. I take my Sims there for vacations all the time. I think people forget it exists, honestly.
The Mailman coming in to smell the Nursery and then leaving 😭
And then coming back in to insult it...
I think "nightmare light" keeps away monster under bed for children, preventing toddlers from having nightmares is by reading toddler to sleep
This is true---people are always getting that mixed up. I try to remember it by calling it the Monster Light and recalling it came before Toddlers, and so is for Kids. You can also play the Lullaby Station for Toddlers not to have nightmares.
@@LivinInSim didn’t know about the lullaby hack
And get the thinking skill raised, too. That helps toddlers to sleep through the night without nightmares.
God, this whole video is such a mood.
"Wow! These kids are actually growing up so well without me doing anything!" my parents at me
the nightlight is for children, it stops them getting monster visits.
Reading to sleep is great, though, because it also skills up their imagination.
Before I found out about her bug fix, I'd always moved the bathtub in the build mode, clean the floor and then put it back, which was really annoying 🤣
Also, when the sim calls and ask to have a baby, even if I say yes, they never get pregnant anymore. Before the update they would also call several times a day to ask the same question, at least in my experience.
Could not play the sims 4 without LMS's mods and fixes. I've tried, the game sucks without her tweaks.
I didn’t know she had a mod for it! I’ll go check that out. Thanks!
@@Laurastar2009 Same. Gardening would be hell without her for sure.
Idk if it's a bug. It's pretty realistic that having a toddler would result in a permanently wet bathroom floor.
@@notnormalyet I mean, I assumed it's a bug, since you can't clean it up 😄. I don't think it's unrealistic, but I would assume you have a permanently wet floor because you don't have time to clean it and when you do, you're trying to catch up on sleep for a few minutes 😆
You should try to befriend the hermit too. I think there's a recipe you can learn that way.
The super duper plant fertilizer recipe 😊 I can’t recall the proper name lol
Walking stick as in the insect! Lol this was a cool episode! I am currently watching rags to redevelopment to fullfil until the next episodes!
Came looking for this.
You should have a single baby named Sprout in honor of the Herbology skill.
You should have a one day vacation every time the season changes. Then you can get everything.
*when you have a chaotic household, hire a caterer to make food! They'll fill the fridge full! One less thing to worry about when dealing with kids!*
This was so chaotic. How do real people handle infants!
You literally give me such an intense urge to play Sims everytime I watch one of your let's plays.
I hope you never stop doing vids❤
The best way to handle an infant is to babywear and co-sleep.
"okay rye's burnt out from going to bed"
lowkey relatable
"you are still very sad...oh well, have a BLT" I'm taking notes on this parenting advice
Rye should practice the wellness skill to help him since he's burnt out all the time. He'll also be able to give fertility massages.
I love how 85% of this let's play is just James being frustrated and yelling at Sims.
Welcome to James Turner
Honestly it’s hardly noticeable now. Go back to the OG Lady’s LP’s to compare 😂
Quinn definitely deserves a basement art studio space!
42:47 - "Sage, basil. . . PLANT."
That gave me my laugh for the day. LOL.
Baby names:
Boys: Oak, Pine, Linden, Elm
Girls: Laurel, Cherry, Maple, Holly, Magnolia, Cypress
Tip i learned about sleepovers the hard way, lock the doors to rooms you don't want random children to be in. Also, at least in my game, the kids didn't sleep the whole night 😮💨
Quinn just unlocked single and lovin it lifestyl 🤣🤣 I did not know shes stll single!
I don't know how most of the features work but Quinn getting the "single and loving it" thing cracked me up 😅😆she had 4 kids with this guy 😂
I have never done herbalism before. When Eco Lifestyle came out I had sims constantly brewing on my grill but that is the closest I have ever been to the skill. Something new to try in my game play. I’ve only owned the pack since it came out… 😬
I did go to the hermits cabin once. Lol.
Reading your toddler to sleep helps with nightmares. Oh and i think the mailman likes the smell of your babies.
Please give the twins bunk beds. I’m begging lol
Roddlers wake up mum- What your hungry? There are so many other adults in the house!
And that seems like the most realistic momemt in all of sims 😂
The light does nothing to help toddlers not have nightmares, it only stops the monster under the bed. Having the toddlers skill up imagination reduces chance of them having nightmares though.
At 45:23 when James says “didnt I tell you to feed the baby?” It sounds like Rye says “yep!” 😂
Children can fish to get their mental skills up. You could have the two kids fish the dinner. ;)
“You can’t just come into my nursery and smell it, that’s super weird”
I would go with terrifying 🤣 Imagine the kind of mailman that does that 😱
"Why are you sad? Awake and sad." Same!
I love how Quinn quit her job like, episode 2 but every day since we still just got to work and just question why she still goes to work lol.
The fact that pregnant sims can't pee their pants from sneezing or coughing too hard is a miss in my book lol😂
Oh my gosh yes! When they park themselves directly on your bladder especially as they get bigger, it’s like Russian Roulette during allergy season
The dance of excitement when there is a video from you when I wake up is just wonderful!!!! You are the best!!!!
Who else SCREAMED when James said no to the prompt that would've put Rye to the top of his career instantly 😱
