Sims 1
In The Sims 1, Sims can have birthdays, but they won't age. If you want more Sims to celebrate your birthday with you,. You also need to buy a birthday cake from buy mode, The birthday cake will have candles that are already lit. They will stay lit for 2h, in which time Sims can blow out the candles. Sims will autonomously gather around the cake, put party hats and cheer and celebrate by blowing through party horns and rattling noisemakers. After blowing out the candles, The Birthday Sim will be the first one to take a piece of cake and then the other Sims will autonomously grab a piece. The Party hats will stay until they finish their cake.
Sims 2
Birthday Cakes actually have a purpose in The Sims 2, and are used to celebrate a Sim's birthday, aging them up to the next life stage. There are seven life stages in for non occult Sims in The Sims 2. When a baby is having a birthday, they need to be carried to the cake by a teen or older Sim. nearby Sims will autonomously come to watch, cheer and celebrate. A toddler will also need assistance from a teen or an older Sim when blowing out candles. The number of candles on the cake, except for a baby, signifies the age of the Sim blowing them out. Sims can blow out birthday candles 1 day before their birthday. They can also throw a birthday party. When Sims throw up a birthday party and age well, and you have cinematic events enabled, when Sims grow up well, there is a special cinematic cutscene for every life stage.
Sims 3
Birthday cakes in The Sims 3, can be used to age up a Sim by one life stage at any time. You can get one from buy mode or buy one from a grocery store. Like in The Sims 2, babies will need a teen or an adult to bring them to the cake. other Sims will cheer and celebrate. The adult will put the baby on the ground. like a caterpillar. Sims can grab a cake after the Sim ages up. In The Sims 3, you can age up a Sim by one life stage per day. you don't have to wait for their actual birthday Toddlers also need help when blowing out the candles. Every life stage adds one birthday candle to the cake. Sims can also throw a birthday party any time and anywhere. Home or Community lot. There is no longer a need to wait 1 day before your birthday.
Sims 4
In the Sims 4, Any cake can be a birthday cake. but you can no longer buy one, you need to bake it. After the cake is ready, you'll have an option to add birthday candles. Like in The Previous Sims games, infants will need help from a teen or older Sim to blow out the candles. As of 2017, infants will grow into toddlers. Before this patch, babies in The Sims 4 aged up into children, as they do in The Sims. Toddlers also need help blowing out the candles. Nearby Sims will come to celebrate with you. Sims can grab a cake after blowing out the candles. Like in The Sims 3, you can age up a Sim anytime, you don't have to wait for their actual birthday. Sims can also throw a birthday party. Choose the Birthday Sim, The Guests. You can also hire a Caterer, a Mixologist and an Entertainer. Sims can throw the party on any residential or community lot.
Who is The Winner?
I was sooo confused when first playing the sims 4 and couldn’t find a birthday cake in buy mode 😂
don't worry i was the same way about this🤣🤣🤣
Sims 2 always wins for me. The cake looks so good makes me want to take a bite 😆
Yeees I agree! There is a wholesome vibe always
I love the fact that as the sims age there are more candles on the cake too ! So cute detail
4 wins most of these for me, but I do like how the cake in 2 looks the most like a real cake with real frosting. Makes me want to bake a cake now lol.
2 is cute for its time. 3 is well decorated, and in Sims 4, those look like real candles.
I guess you can say Sims 2 takes the cake
Lol, sims 4 ages to teenager, instantly takes a selfie. Why does it feel real 😅🤣 that moment cracked me up haha
Lmao
it’s realistic 😭🙏🏽
They're always doing that
The voices and sound effects in Sims 1 brings back good times on the computer!
Omg i love it ❤
Sims 2, I swear they didn't mess around. Toddlers birthday? Put the whole damn box of candles on it! 😂
I’ve only played Sims 3, but I love how Sims 2 has cutscenes.
I love the cinematic scenes from the Sims 2. Especially when the teen goes to university. It's so adorable (the Sims 4 could never)
they are so cute
Sims 2 always wins for me. The way that game was put together with the packs and everything was just so impressive to me. I still enjoy it almost 20 years later.
11:32 Infants blowing out the candles is so adorable😊
Everything done by the infants and the toddlers is adorable. Gotta give the game even a little credit for this. 😇
@@nilsudemirtash I would say a lot of credit. I would say adding a whole life stage was a big deal. We don’t have to just have newborns then have toddlers or kids anymore. Infants have so much going on and there’s so many wonderful animations and interactions. It’s been a lot of fun playing with infants. They are really cute. I love it when they get mad. It’s so hilarious. It makes me laugh like every time. 😂😂
look at the difference in detail between the sims 3 cake and the sims 4 cake.
look at the difference in detail between the sims 3 and the sims 4 period.
@@Velchat3 I think he meant that the cake in The Sims 3 is better and prettier. lol
@@may-chanplay2520 duh
Look at the difference of the look of The Sims 2 cake and Sims 4. Ya might be able to make your own cake in TS4, but even that process (being not very good, with no attention to detail), is not enough to salvage it.
LOL 08:50 absolutely love that transition!
well, Sims 4 is absolutely horrible with birthday parties.
In the previous games the birthday Sim would wait out until everyone was gathered, so they could all clap, scream and do wtv until they blew the candles.
Now, in the sims 4, most of the time my Sims just blow the candles and no one reacts or does anything. like it didn't happen. Ehhh
when i invite guests, they always go to play the computer or swim in the pool, and nobody really gives a f**k about my sim's b-day((
5:59 got me the person in running naked😭😭
In one of my Sims 3 games, I learned the cake can catch on fire when I was aging up my second set of quadruplets (had two sets of four). One cake caught on fire, set the whole dining room on fire, and somehow spread to the kitchen before finally being put out and I went from a family of ten to four left and most guests didn't make it.
Glad I saved right before cause that was just awful. Afterwards I installed sprinklers and moved everything outside to be safe 😅. Never had that happen again in 10yrs now but I also changed the settings back to lower the chances of that ever happening again cause I was stressed irl with those babies.
Poor woman
that’s the kind of chaos that i miss in the sims lol 😂
PUHLEEEEEEASE 😭
Lmfaaaao
There’s no way that on The Sims (the first one) all those people took a slice and there’s cake left over 😂
These videos are honestly just an ad for the sims 2 at this point lmao. Love it
the thing I like about sims 4 food is when it's high quality, there is a sparking effect on it.
My sim every time it's their birthday: *sparkles*
the sims 4 cake reminds me of the max & ruby episode where they had to make the cakes 😂
Why do I love the party hat detail so much
I noticed that the video mentioned that toddlers were added to the sims 4 in 2017, but didn't mention that the infant update wasn't added until March of 2023. Just to let people know.
Where can I download sims2
@@carlenesinclair404 i so badly want to play The Sims 2 but i don't know where to download the game for free😢😢
I didn’t know you could actually age up a child in The Sims 😮
Imo Sims 3 is actually the worst with birthdays simply because of how glitchy the parties can be in that game. Half the sims don't show up because they have work and the other half leave 15 seconds in. It makes it very hard to have a nice long birthday party with family and friends from around the town. Sims 2 is the best because of the cutscenes for aging up and I enjoy the party system more than the checklist in Sims 4.
"Half the sims don't show up because they have work" well.... this is kinda realistic tho
@@saturn1177 true but sometimes realism is not the best for gameplay. I get it if jobs are fully simulated and require sims of different roles to be present at work but since they aren’t they could really allow things like parties to be the priority for a sim.
@@LitrallyAJ it was a joke
@@LitrallyAJthat’s why you throw parties later in the day
@@katlyndobransky2419, or on weekends where people aren't likley to work
i like how her beef with that blonde girl stays throughout her life and all the games
For once, Sims 4 isn't immediately the most inferior! I like the sims singing "Happy Birthday" in non-copyrighted Simlish. It does seem kind of weird that you can throw a party in a stranger's house though.
The sims 2 cut scenes❤
7:20 the family last name was crazy
I love how regardless of the game or age Karen and Suzan are always beefing
I wish I could BUY a cake in Sims 4 instead of having one of my Sims having to make it.
I never thought I'd say this, but I CHERISH the Sims 2 cutscenes. Sims 4 never had anything like that.
Sims 1 wins right away- just for the party hats 🥳🙌🏻💕 cute!
Suzan and Karen Let's fight it's my favorite duo character now
That sims 2 cake looks so good
sims 1 party hat adds such a nice pizazz to the game.
I'm losing it over the child _changing race_ in TS1 😭😭
6:00 the random naked sim is killing me 😭
it's a tie between sims 2 and 3 for me. also, the cake in sims 4 looks pretty!!
really? In Sims 3 they literally drop the child on the ground cause they couldn't make an animation for them. Are you for REAL? LOL
The irony of this being uploaded on my birthday.😅🎉
I'm a bit late reading this comment, but Happy Birthday dear! ❤️❤️
@@tintaverse Thank you so much!😆😊
5:59 naked lady.
I also like how for young adult it plays Rock music and for adult it plays salsa music
Sims 2 is old but always be the most realistic
I really enjoy these comparisons you do. As someone who started playing in the sims universe a year ago with sims 3 (and still dearly love it now), tried out sims 4 and then sims 2 (in that order) this is such a great series/collection for me to check out what else i have in store in my games as I'm still relatively new to the franchise.
Big thankyou!
Thank you so much for watching dear! ❤️❤️
Happy Birthday to the Sims
Again, Sims 2 wins for me. The memorable cutscenes, the look of the cake, the increasing number of candles, and overall attention to detail, is just top notch❣👏👏👏
Sims 2 >
5:59 the naked sim 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I do appreciate how in 1, sims don't age after blowing out the candles. Sometimes in the sims I just want to feel like a year went by, not 15 years in between birthdays lol.
How's sims age.
1, 3, 8, 15, 22, 45, 70.
Rough estimates.
The only cool thing in sims4 is that you can make different cakes
When your Sim burns the cake, even the icing is burnt O_o
@@RGSuperfan 😭😭😭 my sims would always burn the cake before the birthday party even when their cooking skill was high
You can have different cakes in the Sims2 as well. If you have the Celebrations stuff pack...
@@adrianblake8876 thats cool, i didn't play much of sims2 because my laptop died
Again sims 2 and 3 still better than 4😂
I like the variety of baked goods in Sims 4. I think you can add birthday candles to any cake. I always throw a birthday party at a restaurant and order the cake there.
Pastries in the Sims 2 are so huge lol
Sims 2 and 3 took their time with it and made it amazing for sure❤
"took the their time with" puts the baby on the ground to age up cause they couldn't bother to make an animation for the baby growing up. LOOOOL
5:59 Ayo?
Sims 1 cake looks so good. Idk why but I dream of it a lot.
This video makes me wanna bake all the cakes 😂🤎💫
Why is the cake looks more high definition in Sims 2 than Sims 4??
Your Sims 2 didn't lag when the infant grew up? What did you do to make it runs smooth on modern machine?
getting a better computer was the only way
go on r/sims2help there's like a mega guide of fixes to make it smooth and it runs like Perfectly nowadays if you do that stuff
My advice would be to use the 4GB Patch that allows The Sims 2 to use more RAM. It's pretty easy to apply and it makes the game run soooo smoothly.
@@geminiecricket4798 This is why I only play 4. My friends are all like "why don't you play the older games? They're so much better!" First of all, I have played them and 4 is my favorite, and second I'm not opposed to playing them but my computer can only handle Sims 4. My computer would literally explode if I tried to run the older games lol.
I didn't to anything special. I have a gaming laptop and it runs perfectly. ❤️❤️
a stroller??? omgggg
Thank you for making these. It brings joy and nostalgia to my life.
It is really my pleasure dear! ❤️❤️
The sims 4 cooking animations are so wanky
so overly fake cartoonish animations in the extreme is just silly
Sims 2 for sure.
El sims 4 me recordo el cumpleaños de Bingo todos en su rollo y cuando reaccionaron, ella ya no estaba y estaba enseñandole trucos a Nana Heeler 😂
I'd say Sims 4 is more realistic when it come to birthdays cause in real life,we bake cakes, not buy them.
We do buy cakes in real life
Sims 2 or Sims 3, I just don’t like how the cake will catch on fire if you leave it alone for too long in sims 3 🤣
The candles in real life go out if you leave it too long.
I wish you could change the icing of the cake for different genders. Like adding blueberries gives you a blue cake and strawberries gives you a pink cake or something or other.
0:02 about the candles on the cake, The Sims 1 candles is just a ring of fire, The Sims 2 has too many candles, The Sims 3 limited the candles, and finally, you took away two more candles making it 4 candles in the Sims 4.
Sims 2 and 3 are always close for me, but I miss Sims 1. I cannot get it to run on my computer. 😭
I've only Play the Sims 4 but i'm wants to Play the Sims 3💚
I wish can play the old sims on my lap top
Oh man the flashbacks @ 8:55. This is the very reason I stopped using a cake to age up my sims in Sims 3. I had a sim die because the cake randomly caught on fire. She was holding her baby cause I was ready to age the baby up, she brought the baby to the cake, cake randomly caught on fire and she died. 😢 Needless to say, I obviously quit without saving and from that point on, I'd always use trigger age transition to age them up. I've also had sims die from a meteor, eating a jelly bean, I've had a lot of random sim deaths in sims 3, but it's still my favorite. It keeps you on your toes. Make sure you save often. 😩😳😄
i remember how, in my household in Sims 4, i had just a group of young adults and two of them had birthday just one day apart. i made two parties and for whatever reason, one sim blew candles both times and aged twice. so i had four young adults and one senior.
edit: btw that was one insane household. due to the aspirations of my Sims, i wanted to have almost all of them to know as many people as it was possible. our many, many friends would come very often and bring with them dozens of people i practically didn’t know to stay the night. and i can’t count how often some idiot guest would get a bright idea to eat my Cowplant’s cake.
They good but miss Sims 2 tho
Suzan and Karen are day 1 opps 😭
My birthday was yesterday! Thank you for uploading! :)
I'm a bit late, but Happy birthday dear! ❤️❤️
Also sims stretch in sims 3 (not seen here),not only in Sims 4. I think sims 2 has no stretching.
Sims 2.
Is weird that in all Sims games if you have a kid's birthday and the kid blow the candles grows inmediately into a teen 😅
Huh?
I much prefer a kid turning into a teen rather than a newborn jumping to a walking, talking kid like ts4 launch base game did.
@@gayfishticks2839i still cant believe that’s how it used to be😭😭
@@refillpan4663idk what you mean, you didn't all go from being a newborn to instantaneously being 5 or 6 years old via sparkles that allowed you to jump out of some impossible void in your bassinet? smh
It’s like they got lazy through each one😢
Most memorable thing about Sims 3 birthdays for me was the crossed eyes bug. It was always just a funny little inevitability to me lmao.
this is posted 1 day before my birthday, what a joke🤣🤣🤣
Those faces in 3 just kill me

Hello😂
This was literally posted on my birthday
Happy birthday! 🎉🎂
Sorry I'm a bit late! Happy Birthday dear!❤️❤️
Birtdays🎉❤ 7 July Happy Birthdays Hapyy Haiii. With The Sims Chats
Sims 4 and Sims 3 are my favorites
I almost killed my sims's twin toddlers when trying to age them up because the cake kept catching on fire 😂
The crisscrossing of the feet on Sims 2 when child & teen ages up 🤣🤣🤣
The low quaity sims 4 textures compared to the sims 2 textures in the thumbnail 💀
Why the teen in sims 4, got beef with everyone 😭
I miss sims 2. Been playing since the very first one. Brings back lots of memories ❤
sims 4 is the winner this time, but i love the sims 2 aging system a lot
Ok are you kidding me what are the odds of this being uploaded today???? My bday is tomorrow!!! What in the world I love it!
Same! Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday Lisa :3
Happy birthday! 🎂🎈
Happy early birthday!!!
Thank you guys! 😊
I have managed to age up my sims from teen to adult by having them blow out the candles on their birthday cake while at prom. This was done by setting aside a table to accommodate the birthday cake. Celebrating a birthday at prom increases the likelihood of being selected prom royalty, although to a smaller extent than having high charisma skill.
why does the sim 2 cake look better then the sims 4 cake?!? >:( bruh
It would be the Sims four for me. The Sims two and the Sims three seems really kind of dragged on too long. Also, I don’t like the graphics as much. It’s very basic. But I do prefer the Sims 4. I felt like it just went on and on and I got kind of bored with two and three.
Lmao the caterpillar baby on Sims 3 😆
13:36 It looks like everybody hates Suzan
Happy birthday to Sims!
As far as I can remember, in Sims 4 we can also add some herbs on food to make it tastier (herbs, which we can gather during gathering). I can't remember, can we sabotage cakes and spoil them on purpose, but it works with some dishes 🤔
The sims 2 was great ❤
In Sims 4 your sims sing Happy Birthday in Simlish but the Simlish language is hard to understand but I love playing the Sims 4 😅
Humple borpnah voo = Happy birthday to you in confirmed Simlish :)
the sims 2 for me i hate how the sims 3 tells you what to do when your child ages if you didn't get their skills up the game tell you that you are not allowed to pick traits for your sims but i do any way by cheating.
they gotten so lazy 😭😭 sims 2 cake makes you want cake , playing sims 4 i never wanted cake, the guest don’t even acknowledge you growing up, it be like 2 people watching out of the 15 people invited 😭😭
