I remember when this song originally came out like 20 years ago. It meant something in the shadow of the first school shooting, and it means something now, that those happen almost daily. Our kids need help, and we need to start listening!
It was an act of faith...no matter what religion...Faith is a personal thing...we often pray for help and sometimes that call for help is answered...Billy Gilman wrote and sang this song when he was 12. He asked Home Free to help him re release it because of the current spate of shooting and youth suicide. Very, very moving. Thanks again for an awesome 'reaction'

The one voice that was heard was the person contemplating suicide. The lyrics clearly say "a thousand prayers...a million words...one voice was heard" - meaning a lot of prayers were being said, a million words from thousands of people praying...and one voice was heard (by God), and his prayer was answered. 👍
Your take is different than mine. I feel the song is about the many 1000's of prayers going up to to God every moment, containing millions of words. But this kid's prayer to God, an honest plea for help from a child, was heard by God through all the noise of "Please give me's" that God probably hears in His sleep! :) Be well, Duke

It came out not long after the Columbine High School shooting massacre in 1999.Billy Gilman was about 12 years-old at the when he did the original recording back in 2000. I think it resonated more with me because the song was released shortly after Columbine and I had watched the funerals of some of the victims ( one of them open casket) on tv.This is still a beautiful updated rendition of the song.
The maker of this video: could you please do a comparison video of who sang it best between David Phelps singing his cover version of O Holy night live at a concert with Bill and Gloria Gather vs Morisette Amon also singing her cover version of O Holy night at a Favor Christmas special at the Favor church in 2020 which you did some time ago. In this video i would love to hear your opinion as to which of these two singers sang this song the best and why (Morisette Amon or David Phelps). However, could you please combine the two performances together in one video and then after listening to both performances give your opinion as to which of them sang this song the best and why.
