- The Woodwind Ambassadors present "Libertango" by Argentinian tango composer Astor Piazzolla, arranged by Jeff Scott of the Imani Winds. One of Piazzolla's best-known works, "Libertango" showcases his unique nuevo tango style.
This performance was presented live on July 10, 2020 as part of our We Stand Ready livestream series.

trills were wonderful, took clarinet in band was a blast, took piano lessons for ten years never felt confident enough to play for others, it messes me up, I know it is my social anxiety but this is amazing work! Thank you for keeping songs and instruments cool 😎

Jeff Scott - who I had the pleasure of meeting during 4 separate concerts with the Imani winds - is a wonderful composer and arranger. I purchased several of his compositions from him for saxophone and bassoon. Very compelling works!

this is an arrangement for woodwind quintet (bassoon, clarinet, flute, French horn, oboe), so no room for bandoneon

I recommend the recording by the Imani Winds from their album _The Classical Underground._ It is available on most musical streaming services.
Why are horns in these lol
The modern-day woodwind quintet was born out of the typical Harmoniemusik instrumentation-pairs of oboes, clarinets, bassoons, and horns-that dates back to the late 18th century. Since the early 19th century, composers have written for the standard instrumentation of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn. The horn has remained a member of this ensemble due to its characteristic ability to complement and blend with the woodwind sound.

The title doesn't admit it, but they couldn't bring themselves to do a piece without SOME brass...
Weirdly enough, the title DOES somewhat admit it. It's basically accepted that a woodwind quintet will always have french horn. So if you hear anyone say woodwind quintet, you can bet you'd find french horn in that. I know, strange.
I will say again I really like your song wich make me very exiting and full of energy , and I will like to play it to
