    very well explained sir. thank you. would like to share my last ship incident. our hydrophore was having very less air so as soon water tap is opened somewhere pump used to cut in and try to cope up with the requirement at the tap. I brought this to the notice of my 2E but he ignored the matter and said as long as water is available at the tap it is alright. and then this continued till i signed off.. I felt very sad to have been sailing with such kind of people.

      cant understand what they expect...Why this particular question??As usual..Both Valves shut and Pump Electrically Isolated ---so that it does not cut in becasue of press switch..Cant think of any other secret :-)

    Will love to know correct application of silicone and gasket maker.. Should we use it along with new gaskets, o-rings Or nly with old ones
    Where to use silicone n where to use gasket maker.. Difference??

      From what I understand, there are three types of sealing. Gaskets, sealants and gasket makers. Sealants can be used on two metallic finished surfaces likes the pump halfs of a split centrifugal pump etc.Gasket makers can replace harmless gaskets like crankcase door joints , pipe flanges etc where pressures and thickness of gaskets may not matter much. However where a gasket thickness can affect the performance of the machine, like cylinder head gasket which determines the clearance volume etc..we need to use the original gasket only. I guess we should not use gasket makers ON TOP of conventional gaskets. AT the most we can use sealants on top of Conventional gaskets and O rings.Hope you agree..

    sir, if the overcharge means air is over pressurized, the pressure has to increase above 6 bar ( cut out pressure) as mentioned in the video, but it was 5 bar, please clarify

      A normal charge if for example is 5 bar press at 70 % height of hydrophore....Overcharge will be 5 Bar at say 45 % height of hydrophore

    Sir I have an one doubt. Usually when will it happen sir. Undercharging and overcharging. Because already maker or designer already fix the correct manner.

      Designer does not fix anything in Hydrophore.Charging iss done by the watchkeeper and so depending upon his knowledge and procedure...Undercharging and overcharging happens

    Sir I have one doubt, in first condition when the water level is set more than the normal level how it will going to cause the quantity of water delivered...? How sir it will send less amount of water

    Onboard the fresh water expansion tank level is decresing about 100 - 150 liters per day and we check where it might drain. We checked jacket water heater and cooler. But no results

      May be any pipe leakage so pls check ur sys.

      May be evaporation losses.. But also possible of beginning of leaks in T/C Gas Casing. Very difficult to find out till it becomes big. T/C more likely than other Engine parts as per my experience. But can never say.

      Bro vent is to relieve the excess air if not charged according to cut in level. Like the one in last part of video where water might fall below the suction pipe level.
