Sir your explanations of rudders and propellers have be extremely crucial in my understanding of the intricate parts of these equipment. I I thank you whole heartedly for these videos. I wish you nothing but success in your endeavors.
fantastic video and thank you - just one comment sir. Radial expansion of the propeller boss due to high pressure oil injection is also one of the key reasons why the jacks will face a lower resistance during the wet push up.
Yr point on expansion is correct but am wondering about the logic of lower resistance bcoz of that...had it been expansion due to heating..this logic is Ok...in this case the boss WANTS to shrink back...So the lowering of resistance is due to coefficient of friction..hope u agree
Sir pls make a video on propeller curve. No gud video is available online. It is very hard topic to understand but u make every topic look so easy. Please do the needful sir 🙏
Thank you sir... One doubt sir can we do the skf method with wet push up alone? Why do we need to do the dry push up first and then go for the wet push up?
Very good question.....if we do not do the dry push up,the oil will simply leak out and you cannot even be started with the wet push up..so for the pressure to build up in the first place you need a certain amount of interference fit
@@rmetcvideos Sir, in addition to the above said reason, is it correct to say that Dry Push up first in order to know whether the surface roughness of shaft is within limits & also to get the initial push up distance?
So sir,The jacks are pushing the propeller boss after the jacks are set up upon the nut....so the threads of the nut are helping in pushing of the propeller boss?
why is 1st blade of propeller and the main engine no. 1 unit is kept in tdc position, after re fitting the propeller on the tail shaft during dry dock.
Wow such a nice presentation....... A great initiative sir I haven't seen such a beautifully presented teaching video on you tube...... Salute to you sir
Absolutely Genius....Helping us a lot in preparing for exams aswell for onboard practice....Thank you so much for sharing the knowledge sir...its priceless...Take a Bow🙏
Different specifics as per makers..but conceptually ...a particular distance after the pressure has developed on the push up jack..this is the dry push up..then with the injection oil another definite amount of travel to reach the final push up distanve6
:-).You are correct. You should start with --wear a helmet and Ear muff safety Shoes etc...Ha Ha..All those points are for you to add if you are going for Orals..Ha Ha Thank God I am Not sitting for ORALS...
@@rmetcvideos No sir it is our bad luck that you are not sitting for orals. Atleast you would have considered these points by default and not fail the poor candidate just because he didn't mentioned these words. That's the ugly reality 😞.
:-) there is no such rule..If it is happening.. depends on what you did in drydock. Maybe you replaces all piston rings and Running In his not complete. Maybe you changed a lot of steel and the ship is heavier.. Maybe you fitted new equipments which added to weight and increase the windage..Many possibilities...
these are the general possibilities. But if surveyor has something specific in mind based on his experience then we need to check up with the guys who have gone to him earlier 😂

Good explanation sir thank you
Good work ,
great vdeo sir
Nicely explained, thank you sir. Mayank Mishra (DMET 2010-14) batch.
It's genuinely helping us.
Very important sir
thank you sir...looking for more videos
Nice video sir
Sir while removing propeller boss using SKF method how much pressure should we exactly apply?
Thank you very much sir🙏
Looking forward for the pilgrim nut method.👏🏼
Coming soon!
Hello sir can you please tell me what is nominal torque ?
Sir please make video for stern tube , header tank importance , types of sealing.
sure .in future
I have question regarding main engine how we can measure crankcase pressure?
I am not aware of us measuring crankcase pressure.

Thank You so much Sir. It feels criminal that such high quality educational material is available for free.

How reversing is possible in direct reversible engine

Thank you so much sir for such great explanations and videos
Sir salute to your effort and to be frank the making of this video are very good to understand the concept ..... appreciative...
Thanks lot for your fantastic explanation and keeps sharing your great knowledge and very helpful for us to learn from you.
Great effort to deliver your precious knowledge.. Thank you once again :)
Sir, What is the Significance of 'At critical speed' mentioned in the tables...?
Thank you so much sir for such crystal clear explanation 🙏
Thank you very much for the important parameters
Thanks sir very informative video
best explanation thank you.
Thanks Sir...
Sir, if you could plz make video for thrust bearing... arrangement and clearance... measurement.
As soon as possible

Great work sir

Principles of propeller extraction explained in simple, easy to understand graphical representation. Kudos!
Thank you sir
Thk u sir
Sir, nice explanation. how do we overcome bimetallic corrosion between propeller and shaft in case they are of two different materials?
you see there are anodes in the aft..Prop and shaft are of two differenet materials
Nice explanation sir.
Easy and very simple to understand.
Thanks for liking
Thank you sir.
Plz make video on governor droop setting.
Complicated topic , but will try.

It is a DRY push Up..
