I watched this guy DOMINATE the PLeague in Taiwan on the same team as Jeremy Lin last month. He put up 19 quick points in a half like a flamethrower. They also just won the championship last week!
Austin Daye is the most obscure person that I've ever heard a woman say she had a crush on. I knew a girl named Bianca many years ago who's Dad was some big important finance guy in Detroit, Michigan. So he had season tickets and alot of the time he wouldn't go to a game but he'll give the ticket(s) to his daughter Bianca and she would go with some of her friends. One day Bianca asked me who my celebrity crush was, and after I answered and asked her who was hers, she said Austin Daye and I FELL TO THE FLOOR laughing 😂😂😂. Those Pistons home games must've really got to her if she was choosing on Austin of all people lmao.
@@buzzerbeater3350 facts. Will was one of the best players I have ever seen. And yea Dudley has had a ton of talent. My mom went to Dudley. Bob Mcadoo went to Smith though.
One of my all time favorite players. Watched him all the time on the Pistons. the coaching issues post dynasty hurt. they wanted him to bulk up and be a true 4 (in that era) so bad. the pistons just couldn't accept Daye for who he was as a player.
My friend played against him in high school and said he was a stud and could pretty much do whatever he wanted. I was hyped that the Pistons drafted him too. Maybe he was ahead of his time and could be a Keegan Murray type player in today’s NBA
Austin Daye had a similar career like his father! Austin had the potential to be a solid player. It doesn't matter how good of a player that you could be, but if you don't have confidence in yourself playing in the NBA..is a recipe for disaster. He kinda was before his time. Being in the KD shadow didn't help much either.
He needed to go to a team ( at the time ) that had good vets and no immediate expectations for him other then to come in and compete Like if he ends up on Hou, GS, or SA out the gate he's on a much better foot
I similar player is Alexei Pokusewski, that started his career in Greece, and especially in my favorite team Olympiacos. It would awesome if you took a look in to his career!
I think Poku already been better , & I still young enough that he'll continue to develop & become more productive as he adds weight. I could be wrong though - but he looked pretty good in Charlotte this past year.
Delaney was nice but he was a bit too much of a volume shooter. He averaged around 20 but shot 40 percent at VA Tech. Some similar examples include Russ Smith from Louisville, J’Covan Brown from Texas, and Joseph Young from Oregon.
I think the problem was Daye, and many like him, with the exception being only Durant at the time, was that they just came into the league too soon. Unfortunately though, Daye was given up on too soon though, but I could be wrong.
@@edwardkimakaballislifekim_578 Your reply got a like after 20 seconds. That's insane lol. But it's not that deep kid relax. I just thought it was funny that you want on video on them so bad. Edit: Back to Back comments???? Oh yeah I certainly hurt your feelings with that 😂😂😂😂. It's never that serious dude. Seek Jesus.
Sykes and Carson had great skill sets but were too small. Kay Felder from Oakland and Chris Clemons from Campbell are other examples. Another issue is that all these guys except for Carson played for smaller programs. Yes, Isaiah Thomas thrived for a while and even could have been considered a superstar one year but he’s an extremely rare case for guards that size.
He just wasn’t a killer I don’t think where he grew up had an effect. Steph and Kobe did not grow up in the hood but as privileged kids of former NBA players but they’re all time assassins.
Yeah, but even Durant hit the Roids and bulked up after his rookie season … when they were clowning him for not being able to lift the bar off of the weight rack
Let’s go Fellas. 🏀
i used to go CRAZY with bro on 2K
Fr Fr
Which one?
💯 with the pistons
Bruh i had dude winning multiple mvps😂
Austin Daye was a good choice for a video. Dude had me fooled.
Facts
Facts…..
KD is also way more athletic. Daye moved on the floor like he was 6' 11" while Durant moved like he was 6' 6"
The NBA is like accelerated learning.....catch on, or eventually get left behind. " NEXT!!!"
We thought we were getting KD when he really was Johnathan Bender
Bender was super talented don't get it twisted, it was injuries that really held him back not ability or skill
I watched this guy DOMINATE the PLeague in Taiwan on the same team as Jeremy Lin last month. He put up 19 quick points in a half like a flamethrower. They also just won the championship last week!
That man dropped 28 in a game and carried them to a game 4 win too he is tough asl
As long as he’s happy out there
Austin Daye was tough. My dad always said I played like him lol.
That means your garbage 😂👎🏽
No he didn’t

😭😭😭😭
I knew a girl that was crushing on him too. But she was from Detroit
Very weird since he barely played for the Pistons lol
man what u doin here lol
Cause he’s 7 foot and relatively handsome
Between him and Quincy Miller man, I just knew they were going to blow up. Just goes to show how great KD is!
I definitely thought Quincy was going to be special
He was lit on 2k
yes
He could have been an All star he played in todays modern NBA
2k with Daye and Greene (6'11 SG) was crazy 😂😂😂
Facts. Greene played with the kings. I use to kill with Ben Gordon on the pistons and Jordan Crawford on the hawks
@@zjones3853 sounds like a true 2k scholar lol
This dude was a scoring machine
Austin Daye was more Michael Porter than Kevin Durant
Being from Michigan i definitely remember him on those early 2010s Pistons teams
Thank you been waiting on this one.
Gotta do PJ Hairston. Greensboro legend.
UNC Baller 🔥 Lol
That boy was a beast in the ACC 💯🔥
Yes and do Willie Graves. They both attended Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC. The same high school that produced Curly Neal and Bob McAdoo.
@@buzzerbeater3350 facts. Will was one of the best players I have ever seen. And yea Dudley has had a ton of talent. My mom went to Dudley. Bob Mcadoo went to Smith though.
@@336legend6 I stand corrected. McAdoo did go to Smith. I remember those McAdoo Pony sneakers growing up.

100k Subs is on the way. I've been here since 12k. Congratulations on your success

Real Pistons Fans from the 2010s know this dude was supposed to be HIM, most folks wouldnt know who this is great video 💯
Doug McDermott and Chandler Parsons need a video
He had a nice little run with the Spurs he was on the 14 championship team...
Stunted growth allen crabbe
He was suppose to be what Jayson Tatum is today. One my favorite college players ever.

WOW! Good episode!! I actually thought he had gotten hurt!😉
I remember playing nba 2k 5 and pushing bro stats up because his name was cool😂
All daye! 😂

Like if he ends up on Hou, GS, or SA out the gate he's on a much better foot
Jarvis Varnado of Mississippi State
All he had was defense. It ain’t no surprise
well done
Summer league legend

Man I thought Daye was gonna be a stud. He seemed to have a lot of potential.
BRO DO MY MAN MALCOM DELANEY FROM VIRGINA TECH !! I WANT TO SEE THAT
That man was cold at VTech! 🥶 Towson Catholic's own! Shiiit people talk a bucket. He was a bucket 🪣
Delaney was nice but he was a bit too much of a volume shooter. He averaged around 20 but shot 40 percent at VA Tech. Some similar examples include Russ Smith from Louisville, J’Covan Brown from Texas, and Joseph Young from Oregon.
Piston Legend
Piston legend!??
Austin was never a dawg.
I remember despising him for the potential he seemingly wasted.
Definitely his own doing why he didnt become one of the best.

Dude use to be so tuff on 2k
Do Keifer Skyes and Jahii Carson Arizona state
I swear you've commented this on like 3 other videos bruh 🤣.

Do Jimma Gatwech or Robert Dozier next or soon
do josh boone from uconn
Next KD is hilarious 😂😂 he's not even on Paul George's level 😂
I would ball out with him on 2k with the Detroit Pistons
Video 8: asking for story on back up point guard DJ Augustin
Do drew timme and Luka Garza or Ryan Kelly
He really didn’t want it. Seems like he was tall and someone pushed him towards basketball
From "all Daye" to "daye-in, daye-out"
Do LiAngelo Ball
Not gonna lie this a good one Austin was butchheks but he had potential
Should of went to Texas cause i truly believe was a mix of KD & LA and would of been challenged more
Saw nothing in his game. Watching him in college and couldn't understand the hype....gave me Rodney White vibes
He just wasn’t a killer I don’t think where he grew up had an effect. Steph and Kobe did not grow up in the hood but as privileged kids of former NBA players but they’re all time assassins.
Good choice, he was a classic zag that didn't make it, lots of zags game didn't or don't translate to nba despite being great players yo
he was suppose to be what PG turned into
Do Michael Beasley !
He already did
Alando Tucker
"Sea views" 😂

Wouldn’t compare him to KD tho
I never saw KD in Daye. He didn’t move that well
Every skinny dude who shoots from the outside is always going to be compared to KD, he was decent at best in that’s about it.
He was just a lil before his time he would be strech 4 now Pistons have been poor at developing players
Man they gave up on him to quick
He had opportunities on pistons he should've stayed
Everyone knows his downfall was him messing with that White girl Jenna
He was just soft. Mentally as well as physically. Didn't have a burning desire to improve.
The next KD ? Nobody ever said that
they did
I don’t recall hearing that specifically but Daye and KD had similar profiles.
Oh he’s a champion btw.. forget to mention he won a championship with the spurs.. you really bash these players with no facts
That’s not true. Bc a guy lives in the burbs doesn’t mean they are soft or don’t have the “pitbull” in them. Ever heard of Kobe Bryant 🤔
Out the league haha that's you're saying. Y'all don't like the word of
Joe dumars pick him smh😢
Who said this guy was the next KD?
He was slow and not very athletic.
Never went to the cup soft
