@@griftin I would guess that the difference is classic Windfury enchants the parties Main Hand weapon to have a chance for extra attacks. Windfury doesn't come into play till 30. Ferals will have to run this for atleast the first 'phase'
Most groups wont like you power shifting, as the main reason they'll be taking a feral druid as a 'guaranteed slot' is for windfury, that time spent powershifting through GCD's is time not proccing Windfury on several other classes. Those talents would be best put into either improving mark of the wild, or in furor just for the start of the fight or if you need to shift forms rather than want to to powershift.

spells like rejuv have a gcd so you won't be able to do that. you can cast a healing spell from cat directly as long as you have auto unshift set to true. but once you cast the spell you have to wait to shift back. however you can /use potion and then /cast Cat Form instantly allowing to use consumes in combat. it's a little complicated to dive into in a comment but that's the gist
In the 25 bracket it's best to take the movement speed outdoors considering Ashenvale PvP will be a huge feature being one of the only classes that can run that fast
As someone who PvPed as feral extensively in Classic (even won a dueling tourney and 1000g on Grobbulus). I think I agree with you. Pretty sure some kind of dot kite playstyle will be king and I'm not sure you play feral for that. However, the speed and charge is for sure the best thing about druid at 25. You just dont have enough talent points to justify leaning into physical damage. I will say that will depend alot on how much damage mangle will do. mangle spam might be a thing, but most of feral's damage is in shred and shred isnt playable without improved shred, rake doesnt scale, and getting 5cp rips is not realistic until you have a fuckton of crit.
@@griftin Yea I can see how kiting and spamming sunfire for combos could be good. But against what class? Certainly not any casters. Warriors are the only class where this might be useful imo.

Warriors will probably be tough, we're still fucked vs spriest, lock and definitely ele shaman. Also mage might just wreck us with ice lance and fingers of frost w/ no NS. Feral PvP also relies pretty heavily on powershifting and healing and we have no good int gear at low level.
On the AoE topic, although not ideal, they could maybe implement the improved version of Sunfire. The one where the dot spreads to every mob within 8yd of the target. But then no one would want to take mangle, and it would probably be too much of a boost for balance. But should we give AoE to everyone? Are rogues getting Fan of Knives? Maybe some classes can excel at single target. Let's see which direction they take.
This is funny, this is exactly how I've been playing IN HC mode. OOC build with furor and then started filling in feral the rest of the way. People dont understand that ALL of the feral tree in the beginning will NOT surpass the 10% damage buff of natural weapons coupled with the FREE OOC shred or spells. The feral Tree talents supplement OOC and natural weapons NOT the other way around. Its not until you reach full 31 points in feral that you will finally be comparable to damage of just 11 points in balance, ( I use 14 for the bonus of Natural shapeshifter) and 5 points in furor.
I hope they change druid weapons to how they work in cata, even wotlk would be favourable than mcp farming. I just want to play good, i dont want to farm for ages to do competitive damage, or get outpaced by someone who is worse at their rotation than me, just because they dont have a life elsewhere

Hey! Me again... so I did a little homework after I had some questions about the way savage roar might be able to be used... this is what I found (I posted this on another vid so copy pasting this portion): I have some interesting thoughts for feral dps... and it revolves around savage roar and which style Blizzard chooses for combo points... From classic release combo points disappeared when target was deselected in any way... in Patch 1.4.0 you could drop target and maintain CP's, however taking any new target would drop CP's on your original target, even if no actions were taken. In Patch 2.0.3 combo points were redesigned to only be dropped if you apply combo points to a new target. Where i'm getting to now, is that these changes were already in place when Savage Roar was first learned in Patch 3.0.2... making it possible to kill targets, move on, and cash them in (if still in range of corpse) even with no target selected, making Savage Roar very useable between targets to make use of unspent combo points. If they revert to classic era style combo point loss, Savage Roar loses a lot of versatility. This goes into an area that is very important for rogue gameplay also... in pvp, can you swap from your max combo target, kick the healer, move back and spend the 5 points? or do they all disappear...
But only 3 slots for rune. What u want to replace for aoe? Wf for cat is op. Mangle is op too. I see this runes like bleed dot 3.3.5, use mangle, roar, rake, shred, rip. And no need powershift anymore. Is dot snapshot effect on classic+? Or changed like retail. And yes! We still have a problem of energy. May be PS will be usable in window between recast roar. 5 cp, reshift for energy, roar ant go rotation. Oh 2nd problem, bleed no crit. But it new things to think. New experience.
I dont rly mind if Feral does not have AoE. As long as its compensated somewhere else, like Single Target. Also, my main concern for powershifting at such a low lvl is mana. How many powershifts before oom ? Like 4 ? Thats nothing. Sure u can mana pot, get like... 2-4 more, but again, thats still not a real thing. Tho I do fear there is no other option. I did kind of assume that mangle spam w/ some kind of powershifting would be the way to do it. Especially since keeping up SR + Bleeds will take a ton of points and energy.
Would still go 0/16/0 at level 25. 15% bear threat and -5 rage off bear moves, along with 6% bear crit and a bear charge, while also getting QoL from outdoor cat speed. Looks like switching runes will be easy, so if you do both roles as feral that would be way better than respeccing (even though they are lowering the costs for a level 25 economy, which is nice).

Yeah Wild Strikes is an aura, not a weapon effect. That made it work for both feral forms and together with rogue poisons on blizzcon. Since it does not stack with WFT, here's to hope that WFT will also count as an aura as well, and work together with Windfury Weapon and other weapon imbues. Heya, I'm thinking about rolling a feral cause I play druid in retail. Is feral bad in classic? Maybe I should consider another class as a newbie in classic? I also play shaman and hunter. But I don't really like overpop classes. Thanks ahead
I mean I wouldn’t say ferocity is useless. Mangle specifically states it benefits from anything that works with Claw or Maul- so it’d also reduce Mangle’s energy cost 🤷🏼♂️
@@griftin Yessir! I imagine we'll see quite a bit of "Mangle only" gameplay for this level range. As effective as powershifting is, which you've clearly demonstrated, there will simply be those players out there that "Would just rather not" and will find suitable results with Mangle only... or give up entirely in favor of free-wrath spamming haha
Imo feral is not a phase 1 winner, there are multiple specs that aren't phase 1 winners Shadow, Fury/Arms, Feral, arguably some others, but I think theyre going to try and diverse the meta over different brackets, and those specs mention absolutely will hyperscale with their full talent setup and more runes to complement. Ferals gonna be a prime example of lose early, win later. And how much you "lose" early only time will tell i guess. I'd bet a large amount of money that with 40 bracket, ferals will get a helmet rune that gives them a way to generate clearcasts with Fearie Fire (Feral) considering its a prime talent you get in that bracket, or even King of the Jungle in rune form getting a free energy bar every 30 seconds. The options are limitless, what makes it more fun
dont agree due to savage roar buff, if it fades when you power shift, then you lose 30% more damage from auto attacks which can proc WF, so doing the math, if u can add more raw damage talents, power shifting might not beat savage roar+mangle+shred. good theorycrafting though =)
I really don't think you're right about druid needing MCP. I feel like druid is the biggest winner of runes and no debuff limit. They're going to be insane w/o MCP.
you might be right and p1 will probably tell us if that's true. at least if it does turn out that we need a boost like MCP, they have until the end of the phase for it to be a problem
Also is it really a loss to enhancement shaman to provide WF totem? they can use it on a different air totem, or save the mana toward more of their own dps. WS is exactly equivalent to WF totem, minus the movement. And the shaman still has their personal stronger imbue WF. I think it would be welcomed by enhance shaman. I could be wrong
First minute ur wrong, Ferocity is not useless couse "you got mangle and shred", if you look at the Mangle rune you will see it benefits from talents associated with claw and/or maul, for bear mangle. Again if you actually read Mangle rune tooltip and do the math and look at the feral talent tree you can see you will get more actual bonuses for Mangle then shred, not to mention it does 300% normal dmg on tooltip compared to 225% shred + some small flat dmg, its cheaper to cast and yeah, you get it even cheaper couse of Ferocity talent and you get another 20% on top of that 300% with Savage Fury talent... We will have to see how much actual dmg will Mangle do in the end, but it just might make Shred hit less adleast till much higher lvls and higher ranks of Shred. You can go either feral on 25 for that cheaper mangle spam, 6% crit, 50% extra combo point proc or you can go balance for omen of clarity plus feral for Ferocity. Bottom line, feral tree on lvl 25 is not garbage... Please read text of runes before you start making "we are doomed" videos...
They wouldn't implement a lot of runes that basically do the same as existing talents but a bit differently like the feral kick or the paladin block thing. It pretty much tells you they're experimenting a lot and aren't ready to make more permanent changes. They wouldn't also make runes that copy existing abilities with different functionality like warrior's charge. Again, they aren't ready to make permanent changes yet.
because with powershifting, shifting to bear form does less damage, if you're going to shift, it makese more sense to shift into the higher dps choice, cat
I dont want Blizz to get rid of the need for MCP. While it's annoying, it adds to the Classic feel of getting a powerful weapon and farming it. What they SHOULD do, however, is make it so its a proc chance on melee strikes and tune it so the uptime is roughly the same as if you had multiple charges. That way, we ONLY need to farm it once and not hundreds of times. Farming it over and over is what becomes tedious. But farming it once for the flavor is kinda fun, and it keeps people going back out to old dungeons in the world to make it feel alive.
not continuously, no. I actually made a 45 minute video going over how I think the rotations of feral will work but realized only like three people in the world care so I deleted it. I think that even if you don't powershift this is still the play and you'll only power shift intermittently when you have the mana if you choose to.
What do you think about a "deep feral build" with "Predotory Strikes" 1 Point = 50% AP + 6% crit from "Sharpened Claws", I assume it could outmatch powershifting and the 10% Weapon dmg in a raid situation as your overall "white dmg" is higher and with the additional 6% of crit I also assume that the peaks together with higher white dmg will outperform powershifting @@griftin
Bro ihope they get rid of dumb MCP...for real! U get 30% on shred and bleeds from mangle, another 30% on everything from SR and last but not least windfury that u never had even on horde side as a druid. The wording is on melee hit.. not weapon swing like on totems. So all in all 60% dmg increase on shred and bleeds , 30 % on finishers and windfury ...insane.

Would be cool to proc WFT/WS off of WF procs as a shaman, and proc WF off of WFT/WS.
So GIGA Omega oneshots ?
Haha I forgot about MCP. But that totally could become a rune. lop it in with Tiger's fury?
i really don’t think we are going to have to worry about mcp they’re going to add better weapons
Heya, I'm thinking about rolling a feral cause I play druid in retail. Is feral bad in classic? Maybe I should consider another class as a newbie in classic? I also play shaman and hunter. But I don't really like overpop classes. Thanks ahead
all the classes are going to be a fresh take in sod, so I'd say pick a class you like the style of and you won't go wrong! good luck!
Energy is going to be a huge problem. And rolling 5/5 furor is going to make you run out of mana super fast power shifting at that level.
I mean I wouldn’t say ferocity is useless. Mangle specifically states it benefits from anything that works with Claw or Maul- so it’d also reduce Mangle’s energy cost 🤷🏼♂️
fair! I think I mentioned there's a mangle only build out there. I don't recall if it goes that route though
I like the idea of going feral with mangle added and MCP + Windfury + Hand of justice sounds fun. If they take out MCP ill be tank or boomy lol
first 5/5 will drop mangle to 40 energy tho...
Will they let bleeds and dots crit?
Theres datamined thrash rune which might be real and would be sick aoe
dont agree due to savage roar buff, if it fades when you power shift, then you lose 30% more damage from auto attacks which can proc WF, so doing the math, if u can add more raw damage talents, power shifting might not beat savage roar+mangle+shred. good theorycrafting though =)
a lot of people are saying it might fade. is that based on something? it doesn't in wrath.
Would be cool if they did an epic weapon with MCP effect
or... A LEGENDARY!
There is no wolfshead helm with level 40😢
what would be better than having mcp, is that the druid forms actually scale with weapon damage
If sealtwist is not a thing im sure they fix powershift
melee hit vs weapon swing
Shaman main here, not being a WF slave is so nice. We have other air totems we can now use.
@@DrewPickles90 thought so😊
First minute ur wrong, Ferocity is not useless couse "you got mangle and shred", if you look at the Mangle rune you will see it benefits from talents associated with claw and/or maul, for bear mangle.
I think they should just add a cooldown on the weapon so ypu cant spam it over and over. But you get the quality of life to not farm it. Seems fair.
NO-MERI-GAN?
no-meri-gon?
Gnome-re-gan.
RIGHT!!!! that killed me hearing that haha
I say bagels wrong too! I'm a vocal failure! :)
@@griftin let's call it a unique vocabulary usage event :)
imagine just giving WF to druids and they can't benefit from it and not a cleave attack xD
fk that im bearweaving and u cant tell me not to @griftin
Who says the talent trees is going to be that same
if they were going to touch the trees, that would be a huge shock when you ding level 10!
I wish we could Bearweave lol
Actually, why does Bearweaving not work for classic as a viable option?
because with powershifting, shifting to bear form does less damage, if you're going to shift, it makese more sense to shift into the higher dps choice, cat
why on earth would you want to rely on MCP. Such a lame part of the druid in Classic same with the helm
You hit the nail on the head
Reroll as rogue
I dont want Blizz to get rid of the need for MCP. While it's annoying, it adds to the Classic feel of getting a powerful weapon and farming it. What they SHOULD do, however, is make it so its a proc chance on melee strikes and tune it so the uptime is roughly the same as if you had multiple charges. That way, we ONLY need to farm it once and not hundreds of times. Farming it over and over is what becomes tedious. But farming it once for the flavor is kinda fun, and it keeps people going back out to old dungeons in the world to make it feel alive.
I disagree. Your spec should not depend on one weapon. Fix the class and ditch mcp.
Definitely ditch it.
@@cdb5961 yeah, better make chance on hit work for us or make another weapon mechanic to compensate. Anything is better than this oversighted cheese
Exactly mcp is a joke needs fixing
you will not have the mana to powershift
not continuously, no.
I honestly don't know. that was my original play but the 10% physical damage and ooc feels stronger. 3 weeks!
@@griftinplease put up that video again, it will be so hard to sustain the debuffs and buffs with mangle and savage roar
Yeah i think omen till lvl 25 is the play, an later you dev can powershift and it will be awsome
Bro. Why tf did you pronounce Gnomeregan that way?
Bro ihope they get rid of dumb MCP...for real! U get 30% on shred and bleeds from mangle, another 30% on everything from SR and last but not least windfury that u never had even on horde side as a druid. The wording is on melee hit.. not weapon swing like on totems. So all in all 60% dmg increase on shred and bleeds , 30 % on finishers and windfury ...insane.
I hope ferals dont get aoe. No need to further homogenize the classes. Moreover, I hope the feral wf does not even work on the druid,so we dont end up with too many ferals
This is already looking like a failed experiment.
Why they felt the need to so drasticly change all the classes is beyond me. So many other things that need to be addressed that could have solved so many problems and altered gameplay entirely. But its blizzard so lets just turn classic into retail.
