Hi. What are typical symptoms when your patient has mild left subarticular and moderate left neural foraminal stenosis with L3-L4 disc bulge and disc compressing L4 left traversing nerve root? Thanks
It is an excellent presentation with deeper knowledge about S1 nerve root. It helped me to understand the difference symptoms between L5 and S1 nerve root and also decision for surgery if needs. Thank you Dr.
I’m waiting to get an MRI (because insurance doesn’t want to pay for it) and suspect some of my newer pains are caused by my narrowed L5-S1 disc- Thank you again for such clear explanation for lay people to help understand new, changing and sometimes scary experiences we have in our bodies. You helped me identify where I’ve had some numbness in my peroneus longus! You’ve helped me be a more informed, concise patient. Thank you.
Thank you! You have explained this better to me than any medical profession has over the last eight years! I’ve very recently developed the numbness in top of foot and two toes. Usual sciatic pains in side and back of calf and hamstring, but a noticeable worsening. Broke my spine eight years ago. Many herniated discs in that time, but never the top of foot and toe numbness. I imagine this is due to the herniation increasing in severity.
This is very educational, to know which area each nerve affects. My MRI & X-RAY confirm to my spine care Dr. exactly how I described what I was feeling. I have Spondylolisthesis L5-S1, pinched nerve at L5 & S1 with lower back pain, pain in right buttox and pain in outside of lower right leg and foot. It is interesting also that it doesn't necessarily affect everything mentioned, but what is affected IS mentioned. Thank you.
sounds like you and the Dr are describing MY situation. My issues are 12 yrs to this point. This Dr really gets it. my MRI results are from last week "At L5-S1, bulging disc material in the left foraminal/extra-foraminal region contacts the exiting left L5 spinal nerve." EXPLAINS so much. No Dr will believe me anyway. They want the big $$$$$. Good luck for full recovery
@@deniseredding6382 I have this exact condition. They did a discectomy 7 years ago. I feel A lot better. But I still have nerve damage in my feet and left calf. When I walk over 1/2 mile it starts burning.
This was so informative. I have herniation at L4 and L5, but I also have Ischiofemoral Impingement Syndrome. I've had surgery to address the Impingement and am having surgery on my back next month. No one has been able to explain my pain as well as this video. I haven't been able to feel the top of my left foot for years. Thank you!
I have recurrent sciatica pain . I first got it when I was 15 . I am 21 now . I still get it . For some months I am free from this pain completely then suddenly I get sciatica and this usually lasts for atleast 2 months . It's never on one leg . It keeps shifting sometimes on left leg sometimes on right . Somedays become so unbearable that I am afraid to sleep on bed . On somedays it is manageable. This time when I got it in my right leg I overused my left leg as a result got unbearable foot pain in left side . My pain was mainly on top of foot (L5) but is now on entire foot mainly on sides connected with L5 and S1. I can walk on my heels but I face huge difficulty on walking on my toes . I also can't do ups and down with my left foot when I put my right leg behind my calf . I can't do calf raises from left foot

Hi Dr. Ebraheim, I am a 54 year old male, 6'4-220 lbs. I have been to two different hand/wrist surgeons and have been diagnosed (x-ray/mri) with a SL ligament tear-left wrist. I get a significant clucking (I hurt it doing straight barbell curls) noise and if I tape it and play golf it hurts for weeks. I am an avid golfer, and both surgeons have said surgery will make it stiffer, less range of motion etc. They prescribed me a wrist velco widget for $30/cortizone shots/nsaid gel. et al. As a 20 plus year med. implant rep (spent many years in the OR) I thought I had a tfcc tear but that doesn't seem to be the case on the mri? My left wrist cock at the top of my backswing is very important to the swing and I can't believe in this day and age we have no other microsurgery alternatives for a wrist joint ligament/tendon tear on the outside of the wrist? My round ball on the outside of my wrist (pisiform?) by the ulna joint is not pronounced anymore and sits into the joint now vs the right wrist. My wrist is weaker and I can't use that hand like in the past (not counting just golf) Are there any options for me that won't lead to stiffness/less range of motion/arthritis? Any new surgical technologies on the market that could help me in the future so I can continue to golf pain free into my 70s? Please help. Can I call your office an schedule a zoom consult? I can send MRI's. I have excellent insurance. Thank you Jon L
@@dr.rakeshpatel3203 I just had a microdiscectomy of my l5 S1 disc 6 days ago after not getting relief from physical therapy, My mri said I had 3 disc bulges at l5 S1, l4 l5, l3 l4, and a annular tear at l5 s1, I’m scared I’m gonna have to go through a second surgery at my l4 l5 disc because my l5 nerve root is still in pain down both legs

Sometimes is not a herniated disc. Calcium buildup irritates the nerve, badly. Bones are always joined by tendons, which become more rigid in time, tiny ruptures form, calcium builds to repair, it rubbs on the nerve, suddenly there's much pain in the feet in typical fashion, which subsidies somewhat with movement. TRY Thai massage, it greatly helps, don't wait until you become crippled!
