I use two 4 1/2 grinders older Dewalt model to take 5" cutting and hard disk then the other grinder had a heavy duty wire wheel permanently. But I always have two 4 1/2 grinders because the 4 1/2 can take a 5" disk and can be used with one hand. Iv had my high pressure pipe tickets for 15 years and welding for 25 years and still love it.
Excellent information as always, totally concur on the Miller respirator fitting perfectly under the hood. Protecting your lungs is about as high a priority as it gets. I wear mine when grinding knives as well.
Thanks I got those knee pads, feel like the bionic man. Good one on those slots in the hood I'll work on that tomorrow. I use a 20$ jackson head gear in that fiber metal hood. 👍

I'm basically happy with all my safety equipment with one exception: my helmet. Helmet works great except that ambient light, sunlight, ceiling lights often shine in from the rear and produce glare on the inside of the lens. Sometimes, it's REALLY annoying. For this reason, I've been thinking about a pancake because it eliminates that problem. But I see that you use a conventionally shaped helmet and you work outdoors in the sun. What am I missing here? Any suggestions or thoughts?
in Lincoln for a air vantage 600 the manual stated for pulse welding needs 4/0 cable and a combine length of no more then 60 ft. . i should have stated in early post.

One option for a lightweight flipup lense, is the lense fitted to a "Protoshell standard" lid, sold in the UK, not sure about that side of the pond? Not all that good as a shield tbh as made from some sort of fibre that doesnt like getting wet. But the flipup cartridge to hold the lenses is great. Fitted one into a pipeliner years ago, for squeezing in and around tight spools and heating coils. Still use it today

I use a Jackson journeyman adjustable 9-13. 2×4 1/4 really clear.My older one has a bluish tint that you can't find in any auto lens out there.I also use Phillips safety Gold lenses with magnetta insert for fixed by far the best viewing clarity in my opinion after 26 years.Give it a shot.Regards Augie

are you use the pipeliner hood ont your hard hat ? thats not the same size to the tiger hoog .maybe fit the pipeliner hood with the speedy loop?

Had the same issue switched to pancake and I love it I still keep my sugar scoop for back up but I have used my pancake every day since I bought it
