After listening many of her covers her technical skill begins to be obvious. What I think is not obvious is her capability to adapt to the style of the piece she is playing. She has not got years or decades to learn the style. Maybe days or weeks, I don't know. But for me it seems like she has the ability to get the core of the drum style of the piece she is doing and then express it very well. For me it is kinda awesome.
Starting about 3:24 and for the next 10 - 15'ish seconds. I mean.... wth...... how does someone pull that from their brain let along transfer it to their hands? Make no mistake folks, this girl is special. Love use of the traditional grip but it's really awesome when she's flipping between grips such as she does in her cover of Radar Love, which remains my fav so far.
That....was...AWESOME!!! That song was released when I was little and I always loved it. I can't believe you found such an obscure song and not only nailed it....but improved it!! OUTSTANDING!!!!

I go back to the days they were on What's Happening and I was a big fan. Now I am a big fan of Kalonica as she aces this song! Surprising? No, but I never know how she is going to perform it and it truly is a learning experience as I watch and listen.
I'm not a drummer. I can't tell if she plays or tries to play 1:1 with the original. She gets in so nicely. But like "here I am" (because it's a cover in TH-cam). For me this is so a good song that I'm not sure if my feet keep on tapping because of the song or of her playing - I believe more of her playing. She has very good sound on her drums. Her timing is spot on. I believe she adjusts her touch (is able to) per song and here it is really good - perhaps a bit too much in the end. For me it is amazing how she is able to play like she does, but I really enjoy listening it and also watching her play.
