I always have known that these press events are describing their new products from any company. Every camera is not for everybody. Leica m11 $9000 camera only shoot pics. My ZV-E1 and Z30 overheat in warm weather. I like an EVF for bright Sunny Days. For the price of the camera I think it is a great deal. I love the LUTS and seemingless transfer Jpegs to your Internet Services. The Auto Focus and IBIS looks great too. Hi Wayne! Cheers!
Yes, that camera has some really great features to make things easy for posting online. I feel that by stripping out some of the features the S5 II has, they can tweak things like the AF and IBIS to work better.
A car can get you from one place to another no matter the engine, when you make comparisons however it's only natural to expose the differences. The Lumix S9 isn't any different, it has major shortcomings when making comparisons. I own a Lumix GM1 but I wouldn't use it in a situation where I want to take quality photos, it's a product of convenience just as the S9 is.
Hey Tim, the Lumix S9 has good guts and was designed for a specific use case but, not limited to only that however, as we know that use case will change for the person that decides to purchase it. Like my FX30 for example, I saw the presentation, to me, it was a lightweight camera I could use for vlogging. I did buy the version with the audio handle so I could use it for documentary and interview type situations and well, I ended up using it more for my talking head videos than anything else. I think that camera will serve many people well. Thanks for dropping in and commenting.
@@waynerm002 I'm not taking sides here, I am simply saying reviewers that are comparing it and trashing it aren't wrong. The opposite is also true, those that love the camera certainly have reasons for doing so. Cameras have always about use case, compromises and price point. Nothing new here, just another camera release and people trying to capitalize on it.
So what's the average Length of the videos most So Called PROS post when they are doing a review of a Lens or Camera. I would guess they are 15 minutes are less. Plenty are less than 10 minutes long. But all of a sudden, this camera isn't good enough. Blanking please.
I think it is difficult to visualize what someone else needs, we humans tend to measure things from our own perspective, not those of others. Many can’t walk that mile in another person’s shoes. I worked as a PC tech in my career but, I use a Mac for my photography and now video work as I don’t need to tweak and fiddle, the tech just work without me having to mess with it. The LUMIX S9 was designed for a set of people that want something simple, that will do the work they need. Kudos to Panasonic.

interesting take brotha.
I think this camera is an updated point and shoot for the mirrorless age.
@@waynerm002 great location scout camera as well, and you can see examples of finished look with all the LUT options.
@@ShellyBHollis Many uses for this camera, some are just being shortsighted about what this camera can do.

@@mozzman Yep.
I Leica it ... 🦘
The funny thing is, they probably share the sensor with Leica.
@@waynerm002 my thoughts exactly 🦘
