Yes! They are a fantastic bunch and very talented! (Jon Hansen/Peter Marin/Benji Edgar/Rob Calder) They have contributed to many of Passenger's albums, Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea and The Boy Who Cried Wolf to name a couple. They work very well together!
What beattfuly rendered song! As it picks up I get lost from my surroundings.i never tire replaying it over...Thanks for the wonderful guitars artistry.
This is not the artists page, but if you would like to visit Passenger's official TH-cam channel and leave this message for him there, I'm sure he would appreciate the kind words!
Yes I remember you went! Lucky you Dmitry! I wonder if he'll do it at another future show, I would love to hear this one live!! I've heard many covers of this song, but his version is my favorite
You got a fast car I want a ticket to anywhere Maybe we make a deal Maybe together we can get somewhere Anyplace is better Starting from zero got nothing to lose Maybe we'll make something Me, myself I got nothing to prove You got a fast car I got a plan to get us out of here I been working at the convenience store Managed to save just a little bit of money Won't have to drive too far Just 'cross the border and into the city You and I can both get jobs And finally see what it means to be living You see my old man's got a problem He live with the bottle that's the way it is He says his body's too old for working His body's too young to look like his My mama went off and left him She wanted more from life than he could give I said somebody's got to take care of him So I quit school and that's what I did You got a fast car Is it fast enough so we can fly away We gotta make a decision Leave tonight or live and die this way So remember we were driving, driving in your car Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder I had a feeling that I belonged I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car We go cruising to entertain ourselves You still ain't got a job I work in a market as a checkout girl I know things will get better You'll find work and I'll get promoted We'll move out of the shelter Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs I remember we were driving, driving in your car Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder I had a feeling that I belonged I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car I got a job that pays all our bills You stay out drinking late at the bar See more of your friends than you do of your kids I'd always hoped for better Thought maybe together you and me would find it I got no plans I ain't going nowhere So take your fast car and keep on driving I remember we were driving, driving in your car Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder I had a feeling that I belonged I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car But is it fast enough so you can fly away You gotta make a decision Leave tonight or live and die this way
I agree 100%. I was born in 1988 and grew up on Tracy Chapman .this song has been a huge part of my life, eventually turning into my reality in a sense. Listening to it now, it was so ahead of other musicians of the 80s and 90s, both lyrically and vocally. She never tried to be anything but herself, and she did a phenomenal job of letting her talent speak for itself.
Nice cover, but do you get the sense that the shiny happy fans in the NL get the real sense of despair in the song, which is the black experience in Urban Cleveland ohio? Not sure but still its nice to play the song for new generations and maybe open a few eyes,,,,
Maybe. Maybe not. But with these types of covers it does indeed pass them along to the next generation and hopefully they then will explore the original artists and lyrics and learn the history behind the music.
hope Tracy is proud of this. I think its the best cover I've heard of this
I love it! You should check out the official video on Passenger's channel he did with the band (and a lot of others they did together too!)
Someday I'm gonna have the privilege to attend your tour. Much love from Nigeria.
Tracy chapman is the original,,others don't match,,no way near...❤❤love Tracy
I agree, but I love his version too
Passenger is doing Tracy Chapman justice.
That is so sweet of Passenger!❤
Wow pasaanger has some great backup musicians. Played the melody an octave above for him so he could just strum and focus on the lyrics.

That's the most amazing thing. The electric guitaist deserves credit
Tracy Chapman will be Proud of you Passenger

Wow. This cover is fucking phenomenal! I've always loved this song and this randomly pops up in my recommended 5 years after it is uploaded.
My first time hearing Fast Car played on an electric guitar. It's soooo beautiful.
It's a semi acustic guitar

He's one of the few singers who have earned the respect and have the voices, to cover Fast Car.

You got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere
Anyplace is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
Me, myself I got nothing to prove
You got a fast car
I got a plan to get us out of here
I been working at the convenience store
Managed to save just a little bit of money
Won't have to drive too far
Just 'cross the border and into the city
You and I can both get jobs
And finally see what it means to be living
You see my old man's got a problem
He live with the bottle that's the way it is
He says his body's too old for working
His body's too young to look like his
My mama went off and left him
She wanted more from life than he could give
I said somebody's got to take care of him
So I quit school and that's what I did
You got a fast car
Is it fast enough so we can fly away
We gotta make a decision
Leave tonight or live and die this way
So remember we were driving, driving in your car
Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
I had a feeling that I belonged
I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone
You got a fast car
We go cruising to entertain ourselves
You still ain't got a job
I work in a market as a checkout girl
I know things will get better
You'll find work and I'll get promoted
We'll move out of the shelter
Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs
I remember we were driving, driving in your car
Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
I had a feeling that I belonged
I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone
You got a fast car
I got a job that pays all our bills
You stay out drinking late at the bar
See more of your friends than you do of your kids
I'd always hoped for better
Thought maybe together you and me would find it
I got no plans I ain't going nowhere
So take your fast car and keep on driving
I remember we were driving, driving in your car
Speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
I had a feeling that I belonged
I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone
You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so you can fly away
You gotta make a decision
Leave tonight or live and die this way
With only a guitar do magic
Tracy Chapman's debut was the best album of 1988. And sounds nothing like 1988.

Perfection
Cool song cool voice
Sounds different but very much the same and she’d ❤️ IT
He's recorded it with this band, so I hope she's heard it!
Pasenger Michael the most I'm looking for the opportunity to go to Australia ❤❤❤❤
😍😍😍
The Band👏👏
💕
He legend
Best one ❤️
lead guitar looks like that actor, you know who im talking bout.
The guy who played on The Notebook
It's like him and Tracy swapped voices
Nice
The only thing about this cover I don't like is that he cut out like half the song. I'd love to hear him do the full song!
I would too! I think he shortened it because of time.
At least he did the best verse of the song! “My old man’s got a problem he lives with the bottle that’s the way it is…”beautiful.
Essa eu gostaria de ver ele e o compositor original cantando junto
That would be so amazing to see!! ❤
Nice cover, but do you get the sense that the shiny happy fans in the NL get the real sense of despair in the song, which is the black experience in Urban Cleveland ohio? Not sure but still its nice to play the song for new generations and maybe open a few eyes,,,,

Its the people in the crowd who are pretending to know the song and mess up the lip syncing for me lol but this was a nice cover.
Haha, right? They probably think that's the whole song.
💐💐💐💐🤩😍
1:33 rick
grande gabriel rufian!
???
The electric part and solo
johnny depp playing keys
Is beautiful song , but I do not how download the song of passenger
It can be found on Spotify on the covers album Sunday Night Sessions
Missing half the song. Nice cover and some nice girls.
Yes, this is a condensed version of the original song.
Johny Depp on the keyboard 😀
Mope not even close. Jon Solo
I thought the same lol 😂
He doesn't even sound that good. And yet it's weirdly mesmerising.
Butchered
To each their own
Amazing
