I am 56 years old, I live in the United States I was born here, I enjoy many types of music, my main music is heavy metal, all types of metal hard rock, so this type of music of Bjork, isn’t really my thing, I always enjoyed most of her music, she’s an old soul, smart, creative all around great singer, let’s say the one person that could, and does sway me in another direction musically, she has always fascinated me listening to her talk, it’s as if I have known her my whole life, I am of Norwegian decent, Scandinavia, when in fact we have never met, it’s strange, she is a very very deep person, intelligent to say the least, very cool video thanks for sharing
I was saddened to read Icelanders in comments to other videos saying that the Icelandic people don't like Bjork. What? She's their national treasure! How can they not like her?
it might have something to do with the fact that so much of her work is in English. Iceland very much has a problem in regards to not enough media being produced in Icelandic, since many Icelanders choose to produce things in English to reach a wider audience. as a result, Icelandic is going under a thing called «digital extinction», since not enough stuff is being made in Icelandic to maintain the language into the future. this is just a hunch of course, but in Nynorsk (and Norwegian in general) we have the same problem; because everyone just chooses to write and sing in English, we have less and less content being produced to serve our needs, which has made some people (including myself) resentful of Norwegians who produce in English when what we really need is more Norwegian content...
@@Egoblivion Oh my God. Is that real? Like actually true? I Iiterally always thought they were singing in Icelandic. Are the Album title and song titles even in Icelandic?

Songs from Homogenic, this means that at that moment Björk was 32 y.o., looking 16. Or maybe it's 1993 and the ones who added these songs, did it some years later.
I love the Icelandic accent (along with Scandinavian languages as well). But honest question...why is it that they pronounce their “S” sounds with a slight “H” sound? Is the Icelandic “S” sound like that rather than the more sibilant “S” sound in English? Also, I love they rolls their “R” sound. Also also, she’s so adorable!
It's a very unique, lovely accent. Nordic and Scandinavian people have very lovely accents when speaking English and as you've probably noticed they don't have strong depth to the pronunciations. They are mild yet distinguishable and it's not uncommon for them to be mislabeled as British, Australian, or Gaelic to people with less familiarity because they often use similar references within sentence structures.
Icelandic like a lot of languages that do not have a distinction between 's' and 'sh' has so called 'retracted s' which is consonant with tongue position between 's' and 'sh'

Cockney, not British.
cockney's an accent which has a lot of slang attributed to it too (as you said, it's still british either way - which is a vaguer way to put it)
English*
British is easier for non English speakers than American when it comes to an accent.
Nlop I would say American is an easier accent to adopt, yet Scandinavians are good at adopting the British accent. The British accent is hard to adopt
