I don't think people realize that Bjork knows 100% what she's doing here when she says funny shit. Bjork is actually ridiculously smart and she'd been dealing with reporters for over a decade at this point. When she says "we don't have things like golf, squash, or stamp collecting," she's aware that it's funny, and she's aware that people will think she's just being naiive.
Exactly, she runs circles around people by pretending to "play along" with them. She also doesn't do this in a rude or pretentious way but in a cutesy, elfin way, which people expect stereotypically. She kind of brilliantly exploits her stereotype, while exploiting all stereotypes at the same time.
Anon “Frothing chimp?” Hilarious! So I guess that makes her a complete genius. I bet you think “The Anchor Song” is a masterpiece! One mans steaming pile of shit is another mans potpourri. She sounds like a drowning cat.

But embarrassing for her to see her so foolish like THIS here....
When moving to a new place some people pick up the accent of that place. The accent of Germans is thick so she just picked that. Check her interview with Arvo Part, who is Estonian.
Bjork having full artistic control is really key to her career because her stuff is so out there and original and unique and it sounds great and works so well for her I couldn't imagine her singing over standard pop garbage. Instead she writes music utilizing dark minor modes and can sound really jarring and abstract and it fits so well with her voice and lyrics
Great video and interview. My teacher in music school referenced her edgy tune, Army of Me, for a song written using the locrian mode. It is a minor-ish mode built on the 7th degree of a major scale. Very dark and thought provoking. I am fascinated with her stuff.
I love Harald, such a good and relaxed interviewer, who actually listens to his guests answers. Any other German host I can think of just would have screwed a conversation like this. Miss him...
