I believe you are correct as well; the Patek started all of this. I have the Pagani Design homage of the Rolex and I think it's excellent despite the unfortunate extra text on the dial.
Upon watching this video I loved your number 10 watch but was unsure of the polished end links on the bracelet. I contacted pagani about this and they told me they have now fixed this and replaced it with a fully brushed strap. I just placed my order and can’t wait to see it in person. Another great move from pagani design, listening to their customers! 👏
I bought a $25-ish automatic Guanqin with an open-heart design. The “leather” strap was terrible, but the dial got a lot of praises from my co-workers, and it keeps time relatively well!
Great run down of what I call The Vintage toilet wall tile colour. It's exactly the same as the loo room in my Gran's country cottage we used to stay during the summer as kids. It's burned into my memory.
I own the 044 San Martin. It is awesome and the clasp is beautiful. The stainless steel brushed finish, is stunning. The colour is not silver, but grey silver. Unique and worth every penny. Well made.
I think the "Paulareis" might be an epic dial typo in another language. When you said it my German brain immediately understood it as "Polareis" which is polar ice in English, and is a good German description for the color.
Definitely would like to see a microbrand list. I magically got a secondhand Helm Komodo and am blown away by fit and quality and originality. I also have an Aquatico Dolphin in this blue hue and think it is wonderfully hilarious. I get a kick out of wearing it every time. Not perfect, but still fun and great and fun. I either need to hand it off to my wife so she can have a water-resistant watch, or keep it to myself and not get a Phoibos Voyager in malachite. I CAN'T DECIDE!
The Steeldive is the best one of the bunch IMO. Mine has a fluted bezel and a jubilee bracelet, and it just looks so much more expensive than it actually is.
Nice roundup. The San Martin snowflake hands I have only has the dreaded 2 micro adjust clasp. I also have the Phoibos Voyager 3 in baby blue and for that you get complete originality .

Great vid Jody. For me the sweet spot is the Steeldive. Not bad quality for not bad price. The Seastern monster is tempting too. Once you get up to the prices of San Martin I'd rather spend the money on an original design like a seiko, Orient etc.
I have an irrational attraction to that Tiffany blue, great to know how I can attain it! Just a technical note: Could you please lock the exposure of your camera during your monologue? I'm noticing that the image goes bright and dark while you gesticulate. Just make sure iso, shutter, or aperture aren't set to auto. Cheers.
I used the £15 off code last night to buy the tiffany coloured chrono quartz. I don't wear an automatic that often and didn't fancy having to give it a hand wind twice a day to help it along. Looking forward to getting it.
Bought the Pagani BB36 during the anniversary sale and it's been on my wrist ever since it arrived. I thought the 36mm would be a bit small but it's so comfortable. Absolute cracker of a watch.

This is in my backyard. Affordable watches, all easy to see hands and time. You can wear anyday anytime. Love the last one with sharks teeth markers. I have a few Mercedes hand watches so I would opt fot the larger snow flakes. Fun watches that people will remark "Interesting watch."

Coincidentally, I've been wearing my RLG Odyssea in pastel blue today. It's been a signature colour of theirs since before the OP tried it on, so I'm happy enough to consider it as separate from the hoard of pastel blue watches that have sprung-up since. And for that reason, it's the ONLY pastel blue watch that I'll be wearing (at least for the foreseeable future), with any sort of pride. Cannot stand the way the watch world just goes full-Ape for all things Rolex.
“Aqua Marine” for my Tactical Frog THANKS!! ;) And BTW to date NO ONE has reviewed the Tactical Frog V3, and they absolutely fixed the bezel to be a proper 60 minute timer the way it should have been from the beginning, and not as heavy as a Seestern BUT I am GLAD you made this video because I still have to convince my mother that my frog is not a girls watch when she finally sees it!!!
Benyar are great watches, reliable and strong. I did the test on several from ali express and the only 2 that sustain the abuse of every day working as a mechanic are the Ben Nevis and the Benyar. When they broke, easy to replace and dont break the bank.
It’s a pun on Polaris (Paulares) the Star and the nuke submarine (based in Scotland) I bought the baby blue dail watch they make 3 months ago. It’s a beauty, keeps excellent time ( better than my Vostok )

Agreed. Perhaps even an overview of *all* the colourful options that micro, boutique and entry/mid level brands are offering at the moment. Baby blue is getting a *heap* of attention atm but when the über toolish Sinn released a bunch of bright coloured dials I stopped and realised how high the demand must be. Hey Jody, very original video today and I'm not ashamed to admit, I really love this color. I've been thinking about getting the Seastern Doxa and Monster homages in this color for some time now. My only hesitation on the Doxa homage is that the indices are printed not applied which for me, if Seastern had made that effort, it would have made it impossible for me not to get this watch. My one niggle, and this is very personal to me and my 8 inch wrist, is the number of 36mm and smaller watches. So yes I would like you to do a video with original designs (one can only deal with homages for so long) and some larger bezels (42mm and above please!). Cheers !

Only bought one hommage watch in my life and was totally disapointed by the quality, didnt expect much but it delivered Even less. So, I only keep it to remind me, to never again buy cheap. Away from that, I like every blue related colour on watches, wich includes the tiffany colour. Bought the Doxa 600t in Aquamarin and absolutely love it, was a good choice and feels a little bit like the diver version of the PRX. So, good review, thx for that but on watch for me. I bought the Paulareis for little over 33 euros (including all taxes and shipping to Germany) and it's amazing value for money.

The Seestern Monster looks like it uses a Seiko case, bezel, hour hand and bracelet to go with the Seiko movement.
This is a good list, and I also agree that Rolex made a big mistake discontinuing the 39mm Explorer. It's such a sweet spot on my 18.4cm wrist.

Tiffany Blue is actually #81D8D0. I know some sources call #0ABAB5 "Tiffany Blue" as well, but it's darker than Tiffany's actual color.
