Last year we had to write a short story for English class, and I was within the last 10 people to share, so I basically told the teacher for me to go first the next day, forcing me to get it over with instead of stressing out over it the whole period, and then I got like 2 days of relief seeing everyone else read theirs. I also had to start the period cause my short story was the longest in my class.
This is something I’ve been doing since 4th grade. this form of extra credit is the worst I’ve ever heard of/encountered: for no effort and no courage (just because they volunteered) a person can get extra credit. The fact I already guess this. This is just my method since my school always have group presentations. I always make sure my groupmates are ready and I'll tell them we should go next after the first presenter. Easily because being first means we don't have anyone to be as an example and being last just the moment where people get tired and the teacher will also be too tired to pay attention to us.

Sadly my school has a list in which I can never choose my position
Going first sets the standard
AND if you're last and you mess it up, people will remember more your presentation than the others
