I had the same problem at the beginning when I bought the washer and I was about to return it until I red the manual and did a washer calibtation and I haven't had any problem since...
You need to makesure the center of the washer is visible for it to calibrate properly. Basically you need to put the clothing in around the the sides of the washer so the circle in the middle is visible, as if it looks like it has already gone through a spin cycle. Then it will sense properly. Hope this helps!
I am not giving up my beloved 1997 Frigidaire 1st generation front load washer, it’s a simple machine, computer board, drum, water pump, motor. Nowadays, they make washers so complicated : WIFI, steam, bunch of useless features to discourage home owners to perform any DYI repair. Appliances nowadays are made to be broken within short period of time to promote extended warranty and sale of new machine.
These three comments should burn in hell!!! It's not the 80's or 90's anymore people, everything that involves technology *has* to move on in some way (that includes appliances!)
I bought this Samsung washer and the dryer 5 months ago. They are great. My clothes get clean and it does not need as much water. Lots of other nice features. I think your problem may be the Canadian regulation.
There is a part in the washing machine that has screws to adjust the water level. Find the small hose that goes from the drum to the part. It works like this: water enters the drum and in the same time in that tube and creates a pressure. That presure presses on a valve and the machine knows it has enough water. (Every washing machine works like this). Its a simple pressure switch. Luckily there is a screw on the switch to adjust on how kuch pressure it activates. Find that part, try to turn the screw one way a lot of turns and try it out, than the other way. See what makes a difference. If it doesnt buy that part only. The easiest way to locste the part is by finding the thin tube that goes feom the botom of the drum to that part, is it usually located on the top for easy service. Its a cheap part. If you mess it up you can just order a new part and it wont cost more than 10$ (its a stupid switch). (Order the part form US...it will be factory set to use more water 😉)
Many people (and installers) forget there are 2 procedures one must go through. 1st is running a test cycle on an empty drum...followed by a calibration. This calibration looks at the weight of an empty drum so when laundry is put in it the control board can then tell by weight and distribution how much water to add. I don't see how a washing machine can know regulations on High Efficiency machines for a certain country...that seems kind of weird or everybody in Canada would be complaining about this model then...right? I do know the new models have an "extra fill" feature now that always guarantees enough water to do any load pretty much. I have one....but I did all the calibration and test cycles first, and my first load was huge (my previous washer broke a couple weeks ago so laundry built up) and once I started a Normal cycle, the machines drum spins back and forth a couple times to feel the weight and the distribution to get stuff evened out...and then filled perfectly with the right amount of water. Also make sure you have the correct water pressure in your home to run the machine properly. Your manual will tell you what it has to be. I am not saying your wrong...you very well could have got a dud machine...it happens with every product on this planet, but please explore the things I mentioned and consider the possibilities!
I've been reading up on this machine and am about to do the calibration cycle to fix the low water problem (though even when the clothes are 100% wet it still doesn't clean worth a damn so who knows if it will help). Thanks for the tip to check water pressure. I don't think our home has good pressure.
I have this exact washer and it works perfectly. I'm not sure how many people watch their washer the whole time, but after reading some reviews about not enough water I decided to watch the cycle and do some research. Lots of people complain about not enough water going into these machines, however that's how it's designed to function. If you are used to a standard washer then it will definitely look like it's not enough water. But instead of tumbling clothes through a huge amount of water, these machines are designed to push the water through the clothes, which uses way less water. I've also seen people complain that it doesn't pull their clothes down into the water, and if you just watch it for a few minutes it won't seem like it. But if you watch the whole cycle you will see that it does. If you are actually having a problem with not all the clothes getting wet, then chances are it's more likely a user error by overloading the washer or not using it on the right setting. Or perhaps you have crappy water regulations like this lady, but none of these things are the washer's fault.
Many of these high efficiency washers also have a very high spin cycle that will leave clothes with dry spots making people think that they aren't getting completely wet when in fact they are.
Thank you!! So mad my husband came home with this. My toddlers crusty clothes come out with the same crusties!! I threw a pair of folded work pants in. They came out still folded and half dried. I miss my simple machine with the agitator
those old-fashioned machines use as much water as a large bathtub and have no electronics to adjust for each load's specific needs- they might get the clothes a little cleaner, but they are horribly inefficient, are rough on the clothes, and are being phased out just like traditional incandescent bulbs, and old water hogging toilets.
when I had mine, I use to pour water over the load first before I started it to trick the washer into thinking that it was a heavier load and it just filled up with more water enough to get the job done!!!
@@loriedavis9410 That's why I got rid of it and bought a Speed Queen instead!!! At least with the Speed Queen I get a full tub of water for washing and a full tub of water for rinsing and it all gets done in only 45 minutes and everything comes out clean!!!
Why should I have to do that?! They should be put out of business! Eco friendly is a pure scam! I'm sick/tired of this crap being shoved down our throats! Eco green my ass!
I had that machine, I absolutely hated it. You are right about not enough water! I had towels that did not even get wet! When you pause the machine to add the water, did you have to reset the wash cycle selection? Samsung machines do not have memory, when you hit pause, it does not pick up mid-cycle, I had to reset the wash selection! Ridiculous.
I have the exact same washer and couldn’t agree with you more! It does not supply enough water to sufficiently clean your clothes, especially if you have a large load. It barely covers the load and I I too have had dry spots on the clothes and end up rewashing the load after filling it up with an adequate amount of water by hand using buckets. I’ve even resorted to using my water hose to fill it up to cover clothes. I have never been so disappointed. NEVER AGAIN. Maybe SAMSUNG should stick to electronics.
That is not my experience, at all. The bedding/waterproof cycle has washed 3 of the same king size down alt covers (I bought 3 in different colors lol) and each cycle was different than the other. One left it almost dry. One got it wet but had so little water it balled up on the side and stayed that way until I intervened. The 3rd wash filled SO HIGH (Deep Fill NOT selected) the cover floated over the impeller rendering it and all the water useless; the cover just floated in place never moving through the water. The sensors in this washer are like lightening- they never strike the same way twice.
@@glynnismajor This was after making sure your washer is level, and calibrated periodically? I just bought one of these and hoping I'm not going to be dealing with these horror stories lol my boy is potty training and I would really hate having to hand wash before washing to make sure things are clean.
My husband youtubed ours bfore buyin it...n a woman has showed how to wash a blanket/comforter...n u fold it up n put it in the washer. Which i was confused..thinkin it wld knock it off balance. Sure enough aftr we bought ours...& got the instruct book with it..it says the same thing as that woman did. I will say ive not tried it yet bc i jus got my washer abt 4wks ago n i dnt washer my comforters alot. It ruins them...my brother taught me that. But since spring weather is coming I will be doing a lot of spring cleaning and that will be included in my spring cleaning.
It's not just Canada, the use also have this regulations, because of some states ALL states have to deal with this. And I love how they claim this is for efficiency. How exactly is it efficient to have to separate our loads into smaller, but more loads. Or having to run the machine multiple times to properly wash. My old machines would perform miracles in one go. Now I can't even fit the same amount of clothe to wash on a BIGGER machine. Because it somehow fail to wash as well. Thank you so much for the advice. I was looking at some Samsung washers. For now, I'll only consider those washers that offer the "deep fill" or equivalent.
the one I bought I was told by sales man that I could put 10 bath towels in it and they would get deep water and clean, did that happen NOPE! The tub would get out of balance and then it would keep filling up in water other times it would not put enough water and that was just with 4 bath towels
@danawatts5062 Exactly, these "efficient" machines can't handle weight. Put things that soak in water like towels, those blankets that are super common now with prints on it, winter coats. And the thing breaks. And once you go over the threshold, its limit gets lower if you don't want the drum banging. Mine was among the bigger on the store. I had to remove the door to my laundry because it wouldn't fit. And it's a normal door, not a slim one. 8 jeans was pushing it. If one of them was heavy, I counted it as two. Some of my jeans are 20+ years old. They're like twice as thick and heavy than newer ones. The old machine was smaller, I could throw 10 without worries. Always reconsider if I can throw a jacket or two together. Same with towels, all the new fluffy towels, I throw 6 and not risk it. In addition, mine, a full wash, takes about 90 minutes. I don't have a dryer. I hang my clothes. Needing to do 2 or 3 wash back to back. It's a mix of needing 4+ hours and the annoyance of having to go again for those last 4 pants/towels that didn't make it into the previous load. Stupid regulation don't help at all. Clearly the people deciding those don't do their laundry. Either that or get industrial machines to avoid them.
Omg You can adjust the water flow... Tips to make your washer last longer: only put detergent to the max fill or less. This is an efficient washer and does not need a lot of detergent. Using excess detergent will cause it to corrode on the inside overtime which will cause it to stop working. Many people make this mistake all the time thinking more soap is better and cleans better. So wrong. You don't need much. And you want to use a low sudsing detergent. Also, do not only use cold water all the time. Clean your washer at least once a month on cleaning mode. Run a wash cycle on the hottest water temperature setting with NO DETERGENT and NO CLOTHES to make sure all the soap scum and buildup is removed to prevent corrosion. Also, NEVER EVER overload the machine. This will cause wear and tear and eventually knock the barrel off balance and your machine will basically be DONE. Make sure you change/clean the filters regularly. I learned this from a tech...
Can you share how you can adjust the water flow? Some people have said this but don't explain how and I've looked for a link to a video that shows how but nothing, can you please?
I have the same issue and I live in the U.S. so it has nothing to do with Canadian water restrictions. I also add additional water but it takes forever to run a cycle (hours) and the clothes still don't come out looking clean. I took pictures and sent it to Samsung showing that there were patches on the fabric that were bone dry as if no water was used at all. Of course this was after the warranty had ended so they told me I'd have to pay some ridiculously high fee to have a repair person come to look at it. These machines truly are junk.
The other thing that could be happening here is that if your drainage hose is too far down, the manual says there could be a “siphoning effect”. I heard my washer laboring pretty hard the other day due to lack of water in wash cycle, and I think doing the calibration and pulling the drainage hose up a bit solved the problem.
You are absolutely correct. I have to use Extra High water level to get it to fill up the machine, however I need this for certain loads only. My laundry loads are def much smaller compared to how much my older Maytag used to handle. My OTHER COMPLAINTS are: it doesn’t use enough hot water, even when Hot temp is selected it’s still lukewarm. And the rinse vs spin time is a joke. These machines spend more time draining and spinning laundry and a bare 5 min on rinse. I often have to run an extra rinse cycle just to get the smell of detergent out. So in conclusion, these so-called “high efficiency” machines are wasting more of water and especially my time. Can’t return because there’s nothing wrong with the way these function.
According to the video I watch the machine is not designed to fill up completely with water and all the clothes will not be submerged in water. As it washes the close will be rotated and pulled down under into the water. They will continue to circulate pulling clothes down and under the top layer. They will be wet and have detergent on them during the time they are at the bottom. The entire inner part of the machine will agitate back and forth moving the clothes. It also says it has a much higher spin cycle speed than a regular washing machine leaving your clothes with very little water so they dry quicker. Maybe your clothes did get wet and washed properly and maybe the spin cycle is so good and fast that they just felt like they had never gotten wet. I will find the video I watched and pass it on to you.
I just bought this machine yesterday. I have washed 4 loads of cloths. I have some reservations as to its performance. I also noticed that some of the clothes were not even getting wet. IT DOES NOT PULL THE CLOTHES TO THE BOTTOM as a spiral agitator does. I also washed 2 tablecloths with food stains on them. The food stain was not removed. I also could not unlock and open the door on one of the cycles. I'm just concerned that this non-agitator machine does not create enough friction to clean the cloths. I may end of returning it!
Michelle Patterson Nope. I have watched my washer wash for many washes. And the top stays dry. The agitation isn’t good enough. And the machine initially does a load sense by spinning and that bundles the laundry into a burrito unable to be moved around and rubbed around on each other.
I have the same pair. The dryer has broke down 3 times in 3 years. And still makes a weird noise, the washer works pretty well. The only complaint I have is the rust that has developed ion the bleach dispenser and the outer parts.
I have the exact same problem with both my washer and dryer. I've fixed my dryer 3 or 4 times in 4 years and last week it finally just stopped working and I refuse to mess with it again 😐 terrible purchase!
Had a similar problem with the GE washer call the manufacturer she said that you have to have the lid closed from start to finish the old-fashioned ways you would have the lid open as it fills then throw the clothes in there and so on where she told me that you have to Capital enclosed turn the machine on Let It fill then once it's filled then you can open the lid because of sensors and all that if you have the lid open it will only fill just a smidge in the bottom which is like 6 in I hope this helps
Why would anyone want an electronic washer? Wtf? Get a used traditional Whirlpool or Maytag, something that’s not only real but NO BS and RELIABILITY, I own a 90s Whirlpool that runs perfectly I absolutely love it. Best washer I’ve owned
Samsung can't make a good refrigerator either. And like you mentioned, they don't care about fixing them at all. I will NEVER EVER buy another Samsung product!
For small light loads you can use quick wash. Lightly solided would be clothes little to no dirt or residue on it.. I use it for my daughters clothes that doesn't have food stains or my work cloths bc I work sales and they dont get dirty but has body odor. Heavy clothes like thick or dirty(mens work cloths, kids sport cloth, towels, Jean, visibly stains) set it to deep wash or active wash. If u have a large load of towels or sheets or blanket use bedding/waterproof, perm press is for cloth that are tough to straight unwricked (dress shirts, workpants). Delicates (not underwear but bras, dresses, thin night gowns, lingerie)
Have this washer and it is absolutely an amazing washer. It doesn't use more water than needed. The water it dispenses is enough. The clothes always come out clean and smelling great. I would recommend this washer. Plus it fits a ton of clothes.
I had a lot of reliability problems with this set over 5 years. Dryer: didn't heat within a month because of bad sensor, heating element had to be replaced by me out of warranty later Washer: Broken pulsator cap (cheap), mold mold mold. Lots of set stains and never cleaned well. Bought an old school Maytag Commercial to replace.
HOW TO RAISE WATER LEVEL IN THIS MACHINE. First, you will need to make a baseline measurement of how much water your machine is being filled up to. So, start the washer like normal (but without anything in it) and allow it to fill with water. Once the machine quits filling up with water and starts its wash cycle...hit the *pause* button. Raise the lid and measure the amount of water that's in the drum. Once you've done that, it's time to make an adjustment to the pressure switch. Remove the upper rear panel behind the control panel. You will have to remove 6 phillip-head screws. Then, with a butter knife (or small flat head screwdriver) pry the panel off. There will be some retaining clips on each side of the panel holding it in place. You will have to pry pretty hard to get them to snap out and will sound like you will break them when they pop loose. If you do break them....its OK...the 6 screws you removed earlier will hold the panel in place when you're done. Now, look for the pressure switch with a large black phillips-head adjuster. Looking at the machine from the FRONT of the washer, the pressure switch is located just to the right of the large center knob. This pressure switch will have a small hose running up to it. Using a flat head screwdriver, turn the pressure switch screw one half turn *clockwise*. Once you've made the adjustment, close the lid and press the *start* button. The machine will fill with more water and then will start it's wash cycle again. Press *pause* again and take another water level measurement. If you want more water in the drum, turn the screw on the pressure switch again another one half turn and repeat the process all over again until you raise the water level up to your desired level. I turned the adjusting screw on my washer one and a half turns clockwise before I was satisfied with the water level. NOTE: Use the BEDDING cycle if you want higher water level without making adjustments to the pressure switch. My machine filled up to the second row of holes at the top of the drum AFTER making the pressure switch adjustments. This was with an empty machine filled with water only. DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible if your machine runs over the top due to too much water in the drum. MAKE SMALL ADJUSTMENTS!
Tried your tip. We didn’t get the level you reached and we have turned the screw 3 1/2 turns. We also have to drain and spin out the water each time since it won’t add more water after the pause and restart after screw adjustment. Thanks for the helpful information! We will continue our adjustments until we get the water level up.
Update.... did my first load of laundry after taking up the water level. When the wash cycle went into spin mode, the water splashed out the overflow, even up and out through the cover/lid. So thankful that we have the drip tray under the washing machine with the overflow pipe going to the basement. We would have had a major mess if we didn't have this tray in place! Needless to say, we had to adjust the water level back considerably.... so we aren't much better than with the original settings. Worth a try, but I would NOT recommend raising the level to what "Turbo1dr" suggested.
Turbo1dr doesn't these HE washers add the specific amount of water due to how many clothes and weight that's in the load? My LG washer, when you start the load spins 3 or 4 times then the sensors pick up how big the load is and adds these pertaining correct amount of water. There is even a low level meter that shows you how big the load is
To late - I have already purchased a Samsung similar to yours and it is terrible, terrible, terrible. I agree with you 100 %. I too, tried to contact Samsung regarding exactly the same issues and got no satisfaction from Samsung. Kitten Kitten's response is right on the money as well. Now I am researching how to resolve the fact that my clothes always smell like mildew and mold when I use my washer (the self cleaning cycle doesn't fix a darn thing). Thank you, Trisha Harris, for writing the review. I hope you saved a few potential customers from going through the costly lesson of purchasing this machine. I agree - DO NOT BUY!
Answer for the solution: Speed Queen Washer and Dryer matching pair! If you want proper clothes care with gentleness, get the perfect wash series. If you want dirt quickly removed, by the classic pair.
It is HIGH TIME that we tell our social engineering federal government in Canada to BUTT OUT of our lives and STOP this ridiculous dictation of what we can and cannot do with our appliances! Government has NO business interfering in this way!
@@MultiWayland they are not bad machines.. its just user interface issues.. clearly if its not throwing much water there's a valve problem or the pressure sensor switch might of got air, in it.. all machines do this.. no matter of the brand.. they all use similar valves and pressure switches.. so its just how you use it. Ive had mine for over 8 years and have not repaired anything yet... its all how you use it..
I have a Samsung top loader and have the same issue - not enough water. I have to load the clothes, wait till it has started and allow the water to stop then add a bucket full of hot water. I'll never buy another Samsung washing machine.
Maybe the water level sensor is bad? I had the same set, and absolutely loved them. It's not a standard old washer. Your clothes aren't going to be floating in water like they used to. And, if you add a ton of soap trying to get your clothes clean, you'll only make it much worse. I swear, having glass doors on HE washers was a bad idea. now people that don't know what they are talking about can see things they don't understand. Use the recommended amount of soap for the load, don't over fill it, select the right cycle, and let it do it's job!
I used to deliver appliances for a large big box retailer. We probably took more broken Samsung appliances out of houses than any other brand it was unbelievable. If your in the market for a new appliance you’d be off with literally any other brand!
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Samsung 's washing machines, it has something to do with the water regulations in Canada, so this review has no value whatsoever...👎
THANK YOU for that idea! I bought my Samsung WA52M7750A IN SEPT 2017 and have always thought the water level was too low.. my clothes don't seem to ever get clean, I'd add an extra rinse cycle to get detergent out, none of my whites are white anymore.. and of course didn't complain until warranty expired..Now I wash the majority in the DEEP WASH cycle which uses a TON of water! My washer has the built in sink and I thought I could use the water jet feature to help put more into tub, but the DAMN THING knows you put water in it first and drains it out before it will run a cycle! Samsung should've just stayed in the Electronics Business because those I love! DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY SAMSUNG HOME APPLIANCES!
@@eddiegonzales8431 Yes I did calibrate it. We put a splitter on so I spray water on my clothes first now before I start the washing machine to trick it into thinking there's more clothes in it.. a pain in the ass but it works
I absolutely hate mine I bought it brand new from sears and bought a warranty I have had it for 5 years my warranty is expired I just replaced my clutch assembly 180$ and now I believe the shocks are going out which is going to cost me an additional 130$ everything the lady said in this video is correct it doesn’t put enough water and clothes still come out dirty not to mention the exploding lids they had a recall on I will never ever ever buy another Samsung I want to go back old school with the agitators I have a very old whirlpool dryer that I have replaced a couple of cheap parts on and it’s still ticking never ever again Samsung
OMG!!!! Thank you for this! Everyone else just doesn’t have the sense to stay and watch their clothes being washed once or so....! Nothing ever gets clean in these washers! The clothes just sit at the bottom in very little water and doesn’t move/agitate! And when the machine does that initial spin thing to detect load size, that action also adds to the problems by rounding the clothes (especially sheets) into a irritating burrito bundle that doesn’t get unraveled unless you put your hands in and do it! ALL of my loads stay dry at the top, and damp in the center, and very little water at the bottom, and with patches of detergent all over them mixed with dirty laundry odors and detergent scent. I figured out a hack for the problem, but it isn’t an easy one. I have to always do small loads for the washer to be able to agitate the loads, and then I add in a pot full of water I have to bring from the kitchen sink, to fool the washer to think the load is bigger/heavier. But the load placement has to be even and I have to pour the water all over and do it slowly in order for the water to be soaked up by the load, or the hack back fires and the washer flushes the water I have to put in manually. 😂 Also, if you change the cycle to a different one, the washer dumps the entire water & detergent, and has to re-do it 😂 and if that’s not counterproductive, then what is? 🤣 it’s suppose to HE and save water 😂 but all it does it cause misery to my life daily! 😂 Also, the bedding selection is an even bigger joke! 😂 just fills it up with so much water that the bottom spinner/agitator doesn’t have any effect of any kind 😂🤣 the bulky bedding just floats half out of the water😂🤣😩😭
NOTHING GETS CLEAN IN THIS WASHER. Wtf is up with Samsung making a machine with no agitator?? Even when the machine does get the water level right, every cycle option just gently moves the clothes around. Hand washing in the sink is more thorough! Leave it to Samsung to mess with a basic design in a way no one asked them to do and screw up the output.
@Kitten kitten this is exactly what happens with mines. It dumps the water. I just got mines and I was wonder if it's so slow its suppose to wash.... Hellllppppppp😒😒😒
Lordy I hate this thing. It empties everything. There is no cancel. The reset is unplug it for 5 minutes. It is the only smart appliance I have and I promise you it is the last.
you are a life safer, I've just bought the latest 13kg top loader three days ago, and I was not in for weekend, so while away, I searched the reviews of these machines and 95% of the reviews are not good, fortunately I haven't used it so they seller said I will be refunded full amount or I can change to another brand, I'm sure I will have peace of mind, thank u with love from Botswana
Use the bedding setting for high water level and speed wash for the lowest level. These are high efficiency machines they fill by weight of the load not volume.
ABSOLUTE WORST WASHING MACHINE I’VE EVER OWNED! You shouldn’t have to trick your washer into thinking you have a bigger load than you actually have to fill up the basket??? NEVER WILL I BUY WITHOUT AN AGITATOR AGAIN!STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG
Hi Trisha, I do not know the model of your machine, the newer ones have a button that you can press before starting it called deep fill, in which will load more water to your load, and that will cover the additional water needed for your load. Maybe there might be a button that allow you to fill in more water or they revised the machines after your review.
I agree we have the same one but once we added more water it switched to "rinse" cycle" all of a sudden then I tried checking all cycles some give more water than others omg..
My husband and I bought a house that has this Samsung washer. I have the same problem. I find some clothes don't even get wet too. I have had some items put through 3 times and they still don't come clean. I'll try adding more water now but in the near future I'm going to replace them. I have other Samsung items I like very much, but as far as the washer goes they really dropped the ball. My Maytag older style washer works so much better, EVERYTHING comes out clean.
I have a LG Wave force and I have the same issue. I select the bulky cycle in order to deep fill it. Maytag now has a Deep fill option for its machines. I feel your frustration!!!
Absolute worst washer I've ever owned. Water pump busted before I even had it 3 years and cost $300 for repair. Then the recall for the risk of top blowing off! One problem all along that has gotten much worse over time, is how it gets unbalanced so easy, causes an error code and still won't finish the cycle even after adjusting the clothes several times. It is so easy to do this now that I especially can no longer try to wash more than one bath towel at a time. Actually, I am standing over the darn thing right now trying to steady it while it tries to spin dry just one bath towel and few washcloths and hand towels. Has already coded on me and stopped 3 times now. Never hated a washer so much. And definitely won't purchase any kind of Samsung again. Going back to whirlpool that always served me very well! Samsung is crap.
I agree. I have had my Samsung for 2 years and the pump broke. Can’t get the part now because of COVID. Been waiting 6 weeks. Cycles take over an hour, clothes come out full of lint and hair, machine is a big disappointment!
The reason I'm looking at Samsung is because the whirlpool I bought has had similar issues. Water pump failed within 6 months fortunately it was under warranty. After a year I had to replace the balancers. 3 years and now it wont spin, I know how to calibrate it. I'm assuming I need a new clutch or CPU. Fortunately I know how to repair these things just looking for a more reliable brand
I have my washer for 2 years now and I totally agree don't buy this machine. This machine doesn't clean, doesn't add enough water and cycles are extremely long. I HATE my Samsung Washer! And I advice everyone DO NOT BUY this WASHER!
She ain’t lying. I use heavy duty to wash everything. My clothes smell stink after using normal wash and sometimes when I look into the machine the top load is dry. Should have gone to LG
I brought my Samsung a year ago and it stopped working a couple of months ago. I had to get a new motherboard. Thank God I had the warranty or I would have been out of $700. Before it went bad, my clothes did not appear to get clean either, but after the repairs, it seems better. I don't have a lot of faith in a machine that cost this much and goes bad in a year. For the ones who have had luck with their machine, great! I won't be purchasing Samsung again.
DO NOT BUY THE SAMSUNG HE WASHER, I live in Chicago. Purchased at Best Buy, I thought the "HE "stood for high efficientcy cleaning. I was wrong. It stand for waterless cleaning. Which by the way with no water you clothes don't come clean, Put a quilted bedspread in the washer and it will fill with about 2 gallons of H20. . I have to hand wash most items and use the spin cycle only. When I did the reseach post purchase the reviews were about washer exploding.
If I may ad my two cents: Do Not buy ANY top loading washing machine! They have de-evolved functionally. I bought my first one ever (Maytag) and what a disappointment. No matter how much water or kind of soap I used my dark clothes always wound up with grayish blotchy large irregular spots. I was really upset and was all over the internet but found no solution. I finally came to an epiphany of sorts that in commercial laundromats you never see top loaders. Then I realized that by the very design of a front loader the clothes get a great deal more agitation. So I decided to replace my crappy washer with a new front loader which was delivered yesterday and I just finished my first load a few minutes ago and was thrilled to see no spots on my clothes!
Thank your wonderful government for keeping your best interest in mind, trying to save us from ourselves by mandating how much water is needed for a wash cycle. Same problem in other countries. Big brother is always keeping our best interest in mind and always knows what is best. Nearly all governments screw up everything they touch, while using our tax money to do it. There really is no entity that is more wasteful, self-serving, corrupt, and immoral than government.
Couldn’t agree more! Govt’s are corrupt to the core. Thieves who take our $$$ and our freedoms. I’m surprised there isn’t more of a pushback from the people
Exactly, and its very easy for this people for pass this regulations. This idiots don't even do their own laundry. You can always tell when is this higher ups passing rules. Because they make no sense for those of us that actually do our home cleaning.
I wish I still had my Whirlpool that lasted more than 20 years. I dread even washing clothes with the Samsung. I have to stand on a stool to get clothes from bottom of drum. Cant open lid once started even if its just putting in water. Highly dissatisfied
Good for you for posting this. I wonder how long before people will take clean clothes over stylish machines. I have had a front loader...I laughed when I saw it go slowly around a few times, then stop, then the other way...slowly. I had my toddlers dirty bibs in there, which with my OLD top loader agitator came out spotless. I thought, I do not believe that this will come out clean. Sure enough, they came out with sticky past and rice, and sauce still on it! Pieces of food actually! I returned it and bought a top loader. Problem is, if you want a higher end looking machine, you cannot get one without an agitator!!! I will not purchase these, either front or top load if there is no agitator. Why they want us to believe that agitators don't matter, I don't know. Without an agitator clothes spin around TOGETHER...they do NOT rub against each other like they say.
No self-styled HE washer expert is going to tell me these wash as well as older-style washers ("Don't believe what your eyes are seeing...listen to what I'm TELLING you!!"...yeah right). We dumped a near new GE HE toploader that was just awful. It's true...you run more loads, lighter loads, because a normal load is just swished around, not agitated. I was using laundry pretreatments constantly to compensate. Finally in frustration I bought a Speed Queen TC5003WN and am very happy. It's not perfect...if it had a dual action agitator it would be, but it's still very good, and our clothes are clean and not beaten to death. I lay this at the feet of the Obama 2009 Congress, and to a degree at the cynicism of the manufacturers who designed these very pretty, loaded-with-cycle-options peacocks of gleaming metal, glass and plastic, that don't work as advertised...and since when do you have to 'calibrate' a washer??? Look at all the postings of people trying to tinker with their HE machines...they remind me of 60-70's era owners of Jaguars..."they're really GREAT cars when they're running right...they just have quirks!!" I don't have time for quirks.
You should live in America than, because mine puts plenty of water in even on normal cycle. PS. You also mentioned that this is due to the water regulations in Canada and high efficiency machines? Why are you trying to take this issue up with Samsung I would think theres nothing they can do due to the country you live in and their laws/regulations.
Mason that was my thought! I’m highly considering this machine and ALL other reviews are great so I thought I’d click on this one to get the big picture of things. Sounds like it’s totally a local reg thing rather than a fault of the machine.
I have a Samsung washer, I live in America, and I'm experiencing the same problem of not enough water in the drum to sufficiently clean the clothes. Do an online search and you'll see numerous similar complaints, not only about Samsung washers, but about virtually all top loading high efficiency washers.
Our 3 yo Samsung front loader sucks. Also Sears home warranty sucks. Neither will stand by the off balance drum and leaking of the machine. Our 40 yo Kenmore dryer still works great....... “They don’t make ‘em like they used to”.
LOW WATER LEVEL PROBLEM. The simplest way to deal with the low water level on this machine is to do the following. Put your clothes in on the cycle you want. Do NOT put any detergent, bleach, or softener in yet. When you start the machine it will weigh the load and then start to fill with water. Allow the washer to fill for about 2 -3 minutes. Now the clothes are wet and weigh more. Stop the washer and turn it off. Now turn on and re-start the washer with detergent, bleach, or softener with the wet clothes that are now inside. The washer will weigh the wet clothes and calculate that the load is bigger than it actually is. The washer will then put more water in than before. This should solve the problem of not enough water in the washer.
I have never seen my washer put in too much water. The machine should have a sensor to not allow too much water in the tub. Trisha Harris uses a separate hose to add water. This is fine. I've heard of people filling buckets of water to fill the machine. Hopefully Samsung and many other manufactures have made adjustments to their machines and this issue will be a something that future customers will have to deal with. ***The key issue here is to wet your clothes so the machine thinks there is a heavier load and then fills the tub with the appropriate amount of water.***
When I 1st bought this machine I thought it wasn't enough water also. I realized I needed to wash on heavy duty setting that's all. The other way to solve this is just simply set it to the deep wash setting. Deep wash fills with a lot of water
This washer is made to weigh the clothes and add water accordingly. Problem is it does not add enough water, and I have the same problem with clothes coming out dry. I don’t have a hubby to add the two-way, and I have to wonder, how much water is going in for the rinse cycle? So, my solution is I keep a gallon jug of tap water beside washer and I wet down the clothes distributing water evenly. Then the washer weighs it higher and it will change the load to add more water. Works every time.
I just got this set and from the first PLEASE READ THE MANUAL!!!!! We tried to wash a load by just thinking we knew what to do which turned out first impressions to the neg side. The first thing we noticed was it would not balance the load and would was taking forever but the reason was due to not being calibrated. The manual says to calibrate it FIRST and once we did that it washed just fine. There is so many things that you need to read in the manual. Since reading the manual we really like so please read your manual!!!!!
I bought the Samsung top loading washing machine in July, 2020. It began to have problem two months after the first use (once a week usage). The washing machine could not spin and dry at the end of each wash. I then called Samsung technical support. Support told me to do a self clean to the machine. They told me that the self clean will take 4-5 hours, which is unexpectedly long. I started the self clean at 14PM and left the machine in that mode. I found the machine was still self cleaning When I came back home at 20PM. After self clean twice it cold not do the spin and dry. What a machine!
Mine came included with the home I bought...so I decided to use the self clean feature before doing a load of my own laundry in it. I removed the soap and fabric softener trays, washed out them out with vinegar, and poured a jug of vinegar into the drum...at the end of the cycle there was what appeared to be mud (I hope it's mud) at the bottom of the drum. I bought washing machine cleaning tabs...still the crud is present.
you are so correct this is not a good machine!! What you did to add the water is genious! I have the same problem with mine. but it is not a samsung but it is no agitator, and the water regulations of how much water allowed to be used in appliances, that is so crazy but true in US as well! I will never buy another one without a agitator. I would not have it if it was free and never had to deal with a problem. Thank you for your video I have had to stop my machine and put my arm all the way to the bottom of my washer and grab my clothing I was trying to wash and just wash them myself, at times it would keep pouring water in the tub and other times not even have enough water to get the clothes wet!
Have had mine for 18 months. Although initially suspicious, I am now a convert. Clothes come out very clean. True, clothes feel very dry. That is because of the strong spin function. Saves water, saves electricity, including less time in the dryer. I am sorry you got stuck with a lemon. Perhaps your Canadian water standards and/or hard water are not a good fit for the HE detergent. I wish you a good resolution.
Spin alone does not work: it will pour (a lot of) water before spinning. No water restrictions where I live. Light color towels do not look perfectly clean doesn't matter what you do. I'm missing the compact front loading LG washer/dryer I left behind when I sold my condo.
Don't put so much clothes in the machine for the amount of water that the machine puts in your machine should have a water level control so you can add more water if needed.
Regardless of the washer, I did not understand the part about build and past warranty because if you had 1 year, this is plenty of time to see if you have an issue with water and contact Samsung. How is, for example, 2 months not enough to know water is not filling and your clothes are not getting cleaned?
Manufacturing warranty doesn’t cover such issues. Since the machine performs as it was programmed to, you can’t return it because you don’t like how it’s programmed.
Wish I had seen the reviews. Bought mine in November 2020. Junk is the best word for it. No help from Samsung at all. The 1800 number you call. They barely speak English and are hard to understand. 600.00 dollars down the drain
Well I have a newer one and you can not just throw clothes in there you have to put clothes in there like there is a actual agitator in there so like in a circle and there should be a option for deep fill and it fills it up higher. If you just pile clothes in there the agitator on the bottom can not move properly
The other answer is deep wash every darn wash OR extra rinse when using a different cycle. I had the same problem and didn't want to keep filling it up more etc so that's what I do. But my other issue is the gunk that started coming into drum after like 3 months of buying. Sure ain't the cleaning option thing with cleaner that works...as I just figured out this gunk is coming from the back of the dispenser drawer. The gunk was size of quarters tonight and I was like there is no way this is from underneath. I gotta see if full drawer comes out, that's how I am here tonight. Besides looking in book, figured see if it's on here. All in all I wish a lawyer would see all these complaints and contact us and get a class action law suit for our wasted time with this. I should be able to just put my clothes in the dryer....nope gotta inspect each piece!!!! Flick the stuff off. Sometimes go outside and shake garment because it has so many pieces of crap on it!!! Then there's the paper towels I use to wipe the crap up!!!!! Lawyers help!!!!!
I loathe mine too. Save me from this smart crap. Mine started playing a tune 6 months ago which also made me mad. I unplugged it and eventually it quit with the tune. Makes me think they do listen to us because I’ve called it every name in the book.
My wife noticed the automatic water selection never gave enough water, select normal and it will select more water. And there is a way to select more water in the manual. We are in USA but is it really different different in Canada?
The washer I just got has deep fill. If a bubble, I just open it up and push all the clothes under water and get rid of air bubbles. So far more than pleased. My clothes look better than ever. The new ones have some real nice features. Also, the water faucet feature inside the washer. You look a lot like my old Swedish grandmother. Not your hair or age, but facial features. You look like you are related. She left us a long time ago.
Ican't agree more!!! My wahser is same as yours and have the same problem. In the wash cycle, I can barely seee water in it! I also checked other Samsung series, there're much much more water in the wash cycle! 😵💫
@@nathaliedennis4540 Interesting, b/c my manual says to do it with no water and no clothing in it.
.
@@nathaliedennis4540 nope that does not help because I place my clothing in the washer as if it had an agitator and it still does not wash correctly.
Planned obsolescence!

You might have a standard. Those fill up all the way when they to their cycles.

Even through my washer so freaking old
I love mine no problem at all
I bought this Samsung washer and the dryer 5 months ago.
Ture but its their water pressure

I don’t know you
You’ve done
I'd like to suggest Speed Queen. Always use the heavy duty cycle for everyday laundry.
when I had mine, I use to pour water over the load first before I started it to trick the washer into thinking that it was a heavier load and it just filled up with more water enough to get the job done!!!
Me too! However this isn’t just a Samsung issue, most HE washers don’t add enough water. Hate all of them!!!
@@loriedavis9410 That's why I got rid of it and bought a Speed Queen instead!!! At least with the Speed Queen I get a full tub of water for washing and a full tub of water for rinsing and it all gets done in only 45 minutes and everything comes out clean!!!
Thats a good idea, but we shouldnt have to do that on a new washer. I don't like mine either.
I've had several HE washers......never had this issue until I bought thks Samsung.
Pure garbage.
We are going to give it away when we move.
Ridiculous.
This is so stupid!
I’m waiting on you
TO FIX: select the "Bedding/Waterfroof" option. You'll get 4x the water level every time!

But since spring weather is coming I will be doing a lot of spring cleaning and that will be included in my spring cleaning.
I just purchased this same model! I absolutely love it ! My clothes get very clean 👍
Tysm for them tips😊...i def will run n clean washer w out clothes..tht doz make sence if u think abt it.😉
Can you share how you can adjust the water flow?
Did you try calibrating the machine on a level surface? It weighs the clothes and uses that measurement to determine how much water to use.
THIS^^^^^
the machine is working properly, thats what most people says about these HE machines, but i know that they do have a deep soak mode.
I think it has a deep soak mode, enough to solve that problem of blankets and water proof coats not getting wet.
So is the drain line pipe is not supposed to go in too far to the drain pipe? I’m confused
Had this same pair for 4 years of heavy use with ZERO issues... just moved and buying another set. Love these!
I'm glad to see positive coment, I just bought a set from Samsung today 😢
I’d really like you for being

I love it when people come up with a work around. Very inventive.
Or... they could read the instructions on how to use it!!!
@@donwilliams2685 It depends on what the stains were. Sooo many stains require pre-treatment. Tomato stains are especially bad.
Do you delute the bleach before adding ?
I have the exact same problem with both my washer and dryer. I've fixed my dryer 3 or 4 times in 4 years and last week it finally just stopped working and I refuse to mess with it again 😐 terrible purchase!

Why would anyone want an electronic washer? Wtf? Get a used traditional Whirlpool or Maytag, something that’s not only real but NO BS and RELIABILITY, I own a 90s Whirlpool that runs perfectly I absolutely love it. Best washer I’ve owned
Or how about a Speed Queen Laundry matching set?
Samsung can't make a good refrigerator either. And like you mentioned, they don't care about fixing them at all. I will NEVER EVER buy another Samsung product!
Set the washer for the deep cycle for a cycle with more water . The normal setting is perfect for loads that are lightly soiled
What does “lightly soiled” mean? Like a light load of laundry?
Dryer: didn't heat within a month because of bad sensor, heating element had to be replaced by me out of warranty later
Washer: Broken pulsator cap (cheap), mold mold mold.
Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. I will pass this on to my mother.
You raised it too high. You have go in slow increments. It will work but you did it too much.
I had same is not good
Answer for the solution: Speed Queen Washer and Dryer matching pair!

Thank you! I won't be buying the Samsung that I was looking at in Lowe's. So thankful I found your video.
me to 2020 black friday I was going to buy one sale on all of the samsung ( now I no why )

I couldn’t have said it better myself
I used to deliver appliances for a large big box retailer. We probably took more broken Samsung appliances out of houses than any other brand it was unbelievable. If your in the market for a new appliance you’d be off with literally any other brand!

What about Speed Queen? They're built like tanks!
@@JackelineTroncoso Speed Queen.
Yea I’ve had this washer and dryer combo for awhile now never had any problems
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Samsung 's washing machines, it has something to do with the water regulations in Canada, so this review has no value whatsoever...👎
Walker W just to let you know high speed spin it’s sometimes it explodes
agree
Walker W Where I live there no such regulations. And I have the same issue.
My Maytag stacked washer dryer manufactured in 1986 still runs great. No need for all those fancy features to wash laundry.
I have exactly the same issues and I do exactly what she does to have to do laundry. I want clean clothes, not a just pretty washer to look at.
Daniel Mech RIGHT!!!!!?!😂 same!!!!!!!!!!
That’s funny and sad.
Did you calibrate the machine before you started using it?
@@eddiegonzales8431 Yes I did calibrate it. We put a splitter on so I spray water on my clothes first now before I start the washing machine to trick it into thinking there's more clothes in it.. a pain in the ass but it works
Who told Samsung and LG to make appliances? Nobody did! LG and Samsung, stay in your lane!
We have this thing and it's been great for 4 years.
I don't like washers that make stupid burritos! This is why I use Speed Queen Laundry!
I have the same problem. My husband did the same thing for me. Before I would carry a bucket of water into it.
you are a life safer, I've just bought the latest 13kg top loader three days ago, and I was not in for weekend, so while away, I searched the reviews of these machines and 95% of the reviews are not good, fortunately I haven't used it so they seller said I will be refunded full amount or I can change to another brand, I'm sure I will have peace of mind, thank u with love from Botswana
I bought the model with the agitator, much better. Water level works with that model.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS MACHINE! It is a NIGHTMARE! And the unit is WORTHLESS!...I WILL NEVER HAVE A SAMSUNG PRODUCT IN MY HOME
Use the bedding setting for high water level and speed wash for the lowest level. These are high efficiency machines they fill by weight of the load not volume.
So.......put a cannon ball in there and then remove it after it fills? : ) W@TF ??!! What a POS machine.
.
Even Home Depot will tell you to stay away from Samsung
Midnite Sapphire 😭😭😭😭😩😩😩 I’m so glad I’m not alone! Try putting in water into the clothes to make them heavier before starting the washer.

Ive nvr had no prob w mine...my husb hooked up & leveled our washer. He nvr has let the delivery men hook up appliances. Also its very quiet.
I'd highly suggest a matching Speed Queen Pair.
I have my washer for 2 years now and I totally agree don't buy this machine. This machine doesn't clean, doesn't add enough water and cycles are extremely long. I HATE my Samsung Washer! And I advice everyone DO NOT BUY this WASHER!
Have you calibrated it? These machines use load sensors, so if you don't calibrate them they will add too little water.
Going on 3 years with a Samsung Washer and dryer set. Would not purchase another. Heavily soiled loads doesn't wash well.
She ain’t lying. I use heavy duty to wash everything. My clothes smell stink after using normal wash and sometimes when I look into the machine the top load is dry. Should have gone to LG
Omg mine smell funky as well
No! You should've stuck with Speed Queen Washers and Dryers! They just work!
Purchased at Best Buy,
I thought the "HE "stood for high efficientcy cleaning.
Maureen Lovick OMG!!!! Saaaaame here!!!! I know your pain!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
I have this pair as well and i love them no issues at all with mine plenty of water for the laundry even on normal cycle exelent washer and dryer
I agree...luv mine😊
This isn’t just a Canadian issue. I live in Chicago area and it does NOT clean the clothing. It’s HORRIBLE.
I just took a load out that was filthy.
Margaret Roth YUP! Same! It’s maddening!
You should've looked to Speed Queen. What brand do you have?
@@jeromedavis8575 the crappy one was a mtag and the one i have now is a samsung.
Keep the feds out of our laundry rooms!
Ugh!
High Efficiency uses less water, does not clean clothes very well... I miss my Roper!!!
Actually he washers take longer to wash clothes to save water and electricity.
I wish I still had my Whirlpool that lasted more than 20 years. I dread even washing clothes with the Samsung. I have to stand on a stool to get clothes from bottom of drum. Cant open lid once started even if its just putting in water. Highly dissatisfied

Yeah, those modern machines are such a scam
I just bought mine but it’s a newer model. Does a perfect job
It honestly depends on how you treat your washers
Unless you’re washing clothes that’s already clean is crazy 😅😂
The Speed Queen Laundry set would've taken care of it completely.
Hold onto your Speed Queen for as long as you can!
I bought one last month and it works great
You should live in America than, because mine puts plenty of water in even on normal cycle.
PS. You also mentioned that this is due to the water regulations in Canada and high efficiency machines? Why are you trying to take this issue up with Samsung I would think theres nothing they can do due to the country you live in and their laws/regulations.
BINGO!!!
I had the same thought. This is a regulatory mandated performance limitation rather than a defect.
Sounds like a Canadian problem not Samsung.....?
Paul Koester what if it puts too much water ?
I have never seen my washer put in too much water. The machine should have a sensor to not allow too much water in the tub. Trisha Harris uses a separate hose to add water. This is fine. I've heard of people filling buckets of water to fill the machine. Hopefully Samsung and many other manufactures have made adjustments to their machines and this issue will be a something that future customers will have to deal with. ***The key issue here is to wet your clothes so the machine thinks there is a heavier load and then fills the tub with the appropriate amount of water.***
Paul F Koester see like if I put five pieces of clothes I find the machine filled to top with water :(
What a shame you have to add water to a machine that should work in the first place. What a piece of crap. Thanks for posting.
Can i do the calibration even after Ive washed several loads?
I calibrated it and I leveled it per manual instructions.
Try citric acid powder. It’s what pros use.
you are so correct this is not a good machine!!
So sorry you and your family went through this. Thxs for the video, I don’t even want to purchase a tv from Samsung now!!!
I use the active wash feature to my liking
Have had mine for 18 months. Although initially suspicious, I am now a convert. Clothes come out very clean. True, clothes feel very dry. That is because of the strong spin function. Saves water, saves electricity, including less time in the dryer. I am sorry you got stuck with a lemon. Perhaps your Canadian water standards and/or hard water are not a good fit for the HE detergent. I wish you a good resolution.
I had to purchase a different machine, the space in my laundry room is not deep enough....bumner
Diana Haring Billipp doesn’t save water or power...coz have to wash over abs over again. Hahah
Wow. Glad you posted this. Our machine just broke and need a replacement.
Spin alone does not work: it will pour (a lot of) water before spinning. No water restrictions where I live. Light color towels do not look perfectly clean doesn't matter what you do. I'm missing the compact front loading LG washer/dryer I left behind when I sold my condo.
Work good right now,,how it clean the clothes, they come out clean than other washer machine. I love it
Don't put so much clothes in the machine for the amount of water that the machine puts in your machine should have a water level control so you can add more water if needed.
Regardless of the washer,
I did not understand the part about build and past warranty because if you had 1 year, this is plenty of time to see if you have an issue with water and contact Samsung.
This is why I live in the usa and buy warranties on things that cost this much
Yes you are right, I have the same problem 😤
The washer I just got has deep fill. If a bubble, I just open it up and push all the clothes under water and get rid of air bubbles. So far more than pleased. My clothes look better than ever. The new ones have some real nice features. Also, the water faucet feature inside the washer. You look a lot like my old Swedish grandmother. Not your hair or age, but facial features. You look like you are related. She left us a long time ago.
Even using deep fill I only get to 50% full ........won't work for me.
.
Our newer Samsung model now has a deep fill option to add extra water
Too late , same issues as you mentioned …very very bad washers ,….DO NOT BUY!!
Ican't agree more!!! My wahser is same as yours and have the same problem. In the wash cycle, I can barely seee water in it! I also checked other Samsung series, there're much much more water in the wash cycle! 😵💫
