Alraune uses "Matchmaker" 3 turns after she marks the rank And 2 other changes that don't matter for the build and strategy shown in the video: 1. Alraune's "Matchmaker" can no longer miss 2. Happy Couples are no longer able to be damaged, meaning the player is now required to kill the Alraune to get their heroes back
Dear god the design in this mod is out of this world, sure they could just make a cactus plant monster but no, three bodies on one, each type of something purposeful to lure it victims to devour them it just so freaking cool and creative
Looking at it, I think 2 of the bodies are taken inspiration of 2 the other factions: The Buff one is mimicking the Wildlanders, who cleary have been dealing with Cactnoids in the Exposed Interior area; The Flat Androgienous one is mimicking the Terp (The Dancer) from the Levitane units who are doing a more organized search like we are; The Main Huge Booba one is the more simple/basic of the bunch, but the petal/leaf dress makes me think this is the oldest bait, with the other 2 being recent additions, either from the Alraune observing the Levs and Wildlanders or from capturing them and using them as fertilizer to make said bait. Regardless, the Treasury mobs and Bosses are amazing in terms of design since the basic concept is "Eldritch Cactus Mimic".

So long as your remaining heroes can function in ranks 1 and 2, it's honestly not all that bad of a fight. Most of its threat comes from not playing around Leeching (which puts blight on you and regen on the enemy if you heal or buff with that hero) and the shears and flowers, which will get shut down by matchmaker anyway. Outside of that the main body's a bit weaker offensively and a *lot* weaker defensively than most cactonid trash mobs are, so by the time you do lose your heroes it should be at low enough health for your last two to pick it off before dying or hitting Death's Door.
Good question. I never tried to free heroes knowing mechanics from people streaming the game, but I should at least mouse hover over 1 and 4 rank for my viewers to see the stats. Basically they have 24 HP, after dealing that damage you heroes are free untill the boss uses the "Matchmaker" spell again. With that approach, you trade 1 hero action for 1 action of the Boss.
@@single-player Gotcha, was curious for when I face the boss. I know a lot of these bosses if you don't completely understand and abuse the mechanics you get absolutely slaughtered (Janissary sticks out in my head, no riposte makes for a horrific slog of a fight). With this one, I know with my luck, both of my healers would get grabbed in the first round, so knowing how to free them is good.

I kinda wanna adopt Alraune instead of killing it (them? Idk). Mostly because booba, but also because it doesn't actually seem to me that it's actively malicious. (I already killed it tho. Flag MVP as always)
Then again you'd probably have to take out whatever hive mind is behind the cactonids before you could, which is deeper in the treasury, which is guarded by the thing . . . a bit unfortunate, but there ain't much one can do about it.
@@mdb45424 Antiquarian may be a reason to prolonging the fight, with other classes you might killed swarm enemies before their swarm action. There is another way of gaining a lot of money, and it's collecting cursed items with a contraband trinket.
@Single Player I beat that area 3 times before, it was doable just never had that comp of 4 show up at once. It's like the 4 fish men set in the cove, but with a high chance of stuns. The 2 to 3 stuns were what felt so bad. High damage fine, high bleed common, but the stuns and the 30 to 40 heal and max hp when swarm went off that and the mod making your stuns not proc sometimes ment you need focus damage on the same spot around 30hp. Unless you crit that will take 2 turns. I enjoyed myself up to that point made it 14 days, was running low on gold decided to load up on amber for a free stress relief. Just saying it need slight balancing.

My approach was quite simple - just make all heroes hit the boss from position 1 and 2 when needed. Musketeer was surprisingly good at that.

Also, there is a reason to free you hero if remaining ones have low health. Then the boss wil capture ones with low health, IFAIK.

Tried to get into the mod but the trogs are so unbalanced. Lost 2 level two teams in a row when I came across the 4 swarmer set
First time going to caverns is always like this. Try short expedition first.
