My favourite part of the pilfered wealth trinket is that when you use reap, Reynauld will say shit like "They won't miss these" when he ganks your relics
@@Marqui91 He means "Red Hook" is a named team (you know how sometimes when you put certain characters in a certain order you get a name? Well, Red Hook is PD, Vestal, HWM and Crusader in that order back to front. If you swap PD and Vestal you get "The usual suspects"!)
It might sounds silly, but I enjoy the fact that Reynauld, a man who left his wife and son, synergizes really well with Bonnie, who lost her adoptive parents. It's like poetry, it rhymes.
Plague Doctor with Magnesium Rain is also a nice synergy, especially with Aggressor. The burn enables Execution, and it also clears corpses, so the Crusader can hit the former backline.
another fun Dismas pairing is gonna be that immobilize synergy. turn one take aim + immobilize, point blank twice (once on the immobilize turn and once on the following turn), dualist back to rank one and the immobilize is ready to use again
I wanna go Grave Robber, Crusader, Occultist, Highwayman Robber capitalizing on immobilize lunges and getting her dazes cleared Crusader enabling shenanigans and clearing daze / stun off Robber and Occultist when he rolls a bad chaotic Occultist melting backline when the positions / empower line up and pulling backliners to Hwm otherwise Hwm doing his best industrial shredder impression in rank 1
@@mothertrucker-u9m I can't remember what my exact team comp was, but I can affirm that an immobilize comp similar to these is what I used to clear out the final boss of the last confession
At the weaknesses section you pointed that he has too many skills for only 5 slots, but I think this is a positive, having lots of good skills to choose from makes the character very interesting.
The problem is that some skills look more like path buffs then actual worth while to waste a turn on. Tenacity gives 30% damage when enemy on fire but he is so slow its better to use an attack twice rather than use the buff. this was also a problem with dd1 buffs that felt useless in short fights and there are no battle long buffs in this game.
was doing quest with Dismas. Cool to see, how Dismas comments on Reynald being his friend during the quest. Plus achievement on their friendship relationship
I made a team like this : Alchemist Plague Doctor - Banneret Crusader - Vanguard Man-at-Arms - Ravager Helion. Lots of heals, lots of stress Heals, lots of dots (blight from PD and fire from Crusader), lots of protection and guard tokens and a bit of direct damage (with the Helion). A nightmare for foes back ranks. A static team that can moves : Usually, once back ranks are cleaned, Crusader switch position with M-a-A, and Smite front ranks. one of the most resilient and toughest team I ever played.
Even tho banneret is a very soft overlap with wanderer vestal, I am very happy for the fact of having a good back rank option. Also, more in general, with all that debuff res to target it actually sounds as a very good partner for our king Baldwin.
Banneret Crusader strikes me as a better Vestal. He has a low threshold heal that Banneret increases number of uses. He can hit 2 back line and burn. He has a stress heal. He can prevent shuffles. He can give everyone a block token. If you have a healthy team you can hit the Radiance to buff up your back line attack. Bonnie and Junia need love.
@@kernel_games_ I want Vestal to be good but she feels bad. Divine Grace never feels good, hey you need to lose more before you can heal healer. Her conviction needs work as well. Bonnie has some dead moves but I don't play dance teams so maybe that is why.
@@thorinhannahs4614 Bonnie Is decent, the problems is that she is literally 3 buttons. No real personality, even the character card have no sense, she is listed as a stealth frontline character.
backline reynauld + lunging audrey :)) I can see that crusader can help grave robber more than yellowhand highwayman. Anh he have holy lance to reach rank 4.
Stopped playing this game a while ago because I wasn’t having fun with it, seeing crusader on top of all the QoL improvements we’ve seen is making me consider picking it back up
Gotta do a run with him and Runaway tonight...this DLC is definitely going to add a lot of replay value for me. Seems like there are so many ways to fit this guy into a party.
@@ShuffleFM tbh i am aware since you stated that multiple times, i jsut posted this for the joke, still, despite not being a big fan of your content initially, you've won me over, keep up the excellent quality work
I like using him with Occultist. Occ is faster and can use daemon's pull to pull a rank 3 or 4 annoying enemy close and give it a combo token. Then the Crusaders Smite can do 50% extra dmg and finish him off usually.
I am kind of dissapointed with the last two moves, I was kind of hoping for a howling end or coup de grace type attack where its really unique and maybe guarentees a combo but honestly they feels like such throwaway moves. Its cool to have Reynauld back but I definitely feel like there is a lot left to be desired. like Holy Lance not changing up for paths is kind of a bummer, fire is really cool tho. I'm not saying he's weak, he's definetely strong, I just don't feel like he's as fun as he could have been... sucks that stunning blow doesn't have daze either. Reap is such a strange move, I think it has potential to be such a cool move but it feels weird to have a healing reduction attack on basekit. Reap feels like it gets outclassed by zealous accusation tbh. I'm thinking maybe reap should have the combo tokens on its move and when he uses reap on enemies with combo token something cool happens like maybe bleed or some sort of buff so he keeps spamming reap like a real farmer. Idk I feel like Duelist stole the show from Crusader for this DLC.
I wished you show what you mean in the video more often so I can see the application. As somebody who is more a physical learner it’s a bit harder to grasp what you’re trying to say and apply it actively. I have to keep repeating segments to breakdown and digest what you mean. Feels like I need more effort to digest what you’re telling me than figuring it out myself. Although reading the comments, this is a me problem from what I gathered. Other than that, video is pretty good.
I had a team synergy mostly debuff from PD and Runaway and my Crusader with dmg buff vs 🔥 target and he was dishing out some craaaazy dmg lol required lots of setup tho but fun synergy nonetheless
DEUS VULT! I guess it fits with the whole "questing knight." thing crusader has going on, but why do you have to unlock this guy when you just start with duelist?
@@ShuffleFM I see what you mean but I've been trying Crusader out in different positions and it seems that Banneret appears to be the better of the options. But, just like I don't believe he can replace MaA as a swiss army knife tank, I also don't believe he can replace PD's fantastic healing and dot damage or Jester's Encore. Feels like crusader isn't competing for the top paths.
I must say that i would like to like the white with black skin but that's Teutonic order insygnia and i am Polish and that means i must have at least a bit of contempt for those bastards.
So I got the Crusader and he immediately became hateful towards the Vestal and the Occultist probably because Dismas (and Barristan) died during the rescue mission. I also presume that him starting off with kleptomaniac on his first run is completely intentional too. 😅
I was trying to get crusader's story but I got a good setup for him already, which is: Alch, Banneret, Rogue and Vanguard. He stress heals and deals decent amount of backline damage with Alch and he occasionally gets mark alongside rogue, which ends up paying off with a heal on Vanguard or a stun from disorienting blast. It seems like a strong comp but there might be more to it.
Something I thought could be surprisingly good as a combo was bannaret crus with surgeon pd, that would free the front two slots for some more heavy dmg like ravager hellion or sharpshooter hwm, even something more interesting like front rank dodge like gr or tanky aspirant occ, just fun comp ideas
Very cool, kind of wished there was a new skill that's set up orientated to do a very big strike like highwayman in the aggressor path instead of just having a extra dot.
Well, on upgrade, Smite's getting 7-10 damage instead of 7-9. That means damage on a guaranteed crit goes up to 15 If the plan is to focus on damage, then you'd be looking out for one or two things to bump up the crits (Pilfered Wealth or Buttressing Band, for example) and just one other thing to increase damage (Anyone else giving Strength or dealing Vulnerable Tokens is my go-to, but a DMG % Trinket is fine too). From there, you start with an Accusation and kill within the next few turns. Otherwise, you use the Aggressor as "The tank is also the *other* damaging guy". Pop Zealous, Use Bulwark, and don't Smite until you're sure it's the deathblow. If your main damager is Leper or Hellion, then this is how it's done. Either way, the Aggressor can make more use out of that new Vanquisher perk than any other hero. Heal and Stress Heal on kill.
Just ran a team with Vestal/Crusader/Duelist/Man-at-Arms, and Crusader is surprinsingly efficient at being a semi-tank if needs be, a support stress-manager and a quite suprising heavy stomper : a holy lance crit is no joke. Very fun to play.
