There's something about old, 80s / 90s animation that I'll always prefer over the cleaner look of modern animation. It's this sweet spot between the really old stuff and the too sleek new age.
I've been a fan of Ninja Gaiden and the Dead or Alive games for years but didn't even know this OVA was a thing until right now. I love how unrepentantly 80s it is in all of its cheesy action glory.
That was actually pretty good. Being a huge fan of Ninja Gaiden, I had heard it wasn't that good but I was surprised. I knew of this anime for years but I didn't know it was on TH-cam until just now. Thanks for sharing!
They should make a new Ninja Gaiden anime. So far, this was the ONLY film ever given to the franchise. There's so much more they can explore with Ninja Gaiden. It has a great storyline, memorable characters, and lots of solid material to work with. I can easily see more Ninja Gaiden movies being made. Hell, they could even do a TV show.
The only disadvantage of this OVA that I see is that there's no music theme from the original NES games. Outside of it, really stunning anime... The quality of the traces and animation is great. The story is a detective story with some science fiction ingredients, embedded in mystery and lightened by action... And it's well told!

Watching old animes is a medecine for the soul ♥
I'm wondering when he's going to slash a lantern and collect a power-up.
Rip Daisuke Goro -- He voice acts as Jeffrey Hammond in this. I knew the voice seemed familiar from Fist of the North Star.

Ah, so this OVA explains why enemies are appearing non-stop from BS locations. XD
Good old time anime from the late 80s or early 90s. Love the dark, lurid, neonoir look.
Watching this kind of art style made my eyes teary... Feels so nostalgic. 80s - 90s are the best ever
Love those 80's anime OVAs!
Nothing beats early 90's anime, nothing.
No matter how many new anime i watch... I always have to come back to classics to feel content
miss these old style anime....
