@fartsmcarthur thanks for digging the tape! yeah, i could see the mack comparison from the introspective standpoint. milo does tend to get more "tender" than your average rapper, and i dig it.
Liked all but one song on this mixtape. I have been listening to a bit much lil Wayne and raekwon and jay z so this was a nice breath of fresh air A strong 9/10 for me
@lBlueShadowI he sorta reminds me of kendrick, yeah. he's got that introspective outcast thing going on for him, but don't expect the same kinda production and shiz. very different beats and such.
This record was ridiculously clever! It had me scratching my head as to how Milo can put words and references together so well. Milo, if you read this, Thank You best Hip Hop I've heard all year. Thank you too Anthony for the recommendation.
dude i just downloaded this, i've been digging this so much. Its beautiful, sad, and i find spots where i can relate to it, and chuckle to myself at the same time. Its an self searching trip.
I heard this because of this review and I've probably played it through more times than any other album, including Milo's other work, which I have become very fond of. He's grown a lot as an artist but something about I wish my bother rob was here is just so quotable. You've got great lines later like "let me take a dip in this lazarus pit", with the same casually nerdiness, but THIS one, has like, every word in Omar Don't Scare for example, and Mr. Doubt(w)riter is just... yes. yes. yes please.
Loved this. Especially the just us track and the sample of Steve Brule. Maybe its cause I'm from Seattle and I listen to him too much, but his flow and his voice kindaaa remind me of Macklemore when he gets all introspective. Anyway, really enjoyable. Thanks Fantano.
Thats true, there are to many mixtapes out there. Today for example, there were like more than 10 releases! I only downloaded Freddie Gibbs and Fat Joes and before that Immortal Technique released a mixtape too. Thanks for focusing on the unknown ones, I have NEVER heard of Milo before but Im def checking it out if you gave him an 8!
holy shit thanks man hes awesome, and we got so much snow yesterday in jersey, ps have you ever heard of GDP? hes kind of like milo with the beats he raps over look up "Succumb" by GDP hes pretty damn good
The snow is a sign the winter is going to suuuuck. Lol And I never heard of Milo,but I just check him out and it was prettt dope. And maybe you should check out Passport Sport "Be Something"
Great review, as always. Could you perhaps review Olafur Arnalds: Living Room Songs? you can get then free by typing Olafur Arnalds Living Room Songs in google.I think they're very good, and am curious to see what you think of them. If not that, then the new Exit Ten Album, Give Me Infinity perhaps?
Honestly, I can't get into this mixtape at all, which is kind of a shame, because I totally dig some of the lyrics he has on here. My biggest problem with it (which you mentioned in your review) is his delivery. I just don't like the deadpan delivery at all. At any rate, it was a good review. Great job Anthony :D
This is GREAT STUFF!! I'm a fan of mf doom and all of the electronic artists you mentioned / used in this mixtape so I warmed to this very quickly THANKS ANTHONY! :D I've found heaps and heaps of music i love thanks to your reviews
@djtall23 No it's not; not at all. The suffix 'core,' though it is usually used to refer to a subgenre of hardcore punk, can actually refer to subgenres of various other genres as well. Nerdcore hip-hop is an actual acknowledged genre, and is not a subgenre of hardcore. en(dot)wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Nerdcore_hip_hop
thanks for introducing me to this dude, changed the way i view hip hop.
@fartsmcarthur thanks for digging the tape! yeah, i could see the mack comparison from the introspective standpoint. milo does tend to get more "tender" than your average rapper, and i dig it.

A strong 9/10 for me
+manuthePROcrastinator what song didn't you like?
+room are you milo? You are everywhere :D
Muzik Trabolee nah, thats scott penob, just a fan
+room How can anyone be certain that they are not milo? #SipsAlmondMilk
true, but on the other hand, how can someone be sure certain that they aren't levar burton?
@lBlueShadowI he sorta reminds me of kendrick, yeah. he's got that introspective outcast thing going on for him, but don't expect the same kinda production and shiz. very different beats and such.

@EhToYou totally. i think milo is a little less cartoony, ya know. he's like a REAL nerd, not an effigy of one.
Just thought I would come back here to say this album is beautiful, funny, quirky, emotional. I just love it. Thank you for showing me Milo, Anthony.
@thejailer718 op, you're right! messin up titles again!
@jgil1966 reissue? c'mon.
Listened to a couple tracks, good stuff.
Love the geekieness, beats, and flow.
Reminds me a bit of Buck 65 without the post-2000 rasp.
@S0C1ALxINSUB0RDINATE like, record live shows and put 'em up on the channel? sadly, i can't do that. it brings me into a lotta copyright issues. :-(
@1995Nekfeu it's fixed.
@evild1515 it's fixed.
@Cobhammar awesome!
@swimmerforlife789 yep, and it's ticking me off!

@UPaDRIVWAY it's fixed now. :-)
@BOWSERcide yes! that's a comparison i should have made. wise, this man is!
@jackwoneill93 i'm sorry. :-( not my intention. :-(
@TheMagicarpetguy yeah, i know. i gotta shave it!
@TheSipyCup it's fixed. :-)
@edinj1992 done and done.
"This made me hyperventilate. Thank you so much. Humbled and blessed, man, that’s all I can say. "- Milo

One of my favorite tracks on the albums is David Foster Wallace. Very insightful album... great flow. Keep it coming! Show some love!
Loved this. Especially the just us track and the sample of Steve Brule. Maybe its cause I'm from Seattle and I listen to him too much, but his flow and his voice kindaaa remind me of Macklemore when he gets all introspective. Anyway, really enjoyable. Thanks Fantano.
Review Pink Moons "Frooty Pebbles" or "Dukes of Chernoble". They're really good.
@eman198 nice!
You should review Nicholas J's "One Of A Kind" and Safari Al's "Hermitage Academy". Homies of Milo comin' out with some great music.
@dha0266 oh YOU!

hes pretty damn good
@HoboStrangler i saw him live once an dhe was fun as hell.
:Love this drop. Moving it to my iPhone for the replay thanks for the turn on
Seeing as how it's Halloween, you should listen to some spooky/other worldly post-rock, like Russian Circles' Empros for instance!
@SATURDAYateSUNDAY hupsters gonna hupst
this is one of my all time favorite rap albums, definitely rate it a 10/10
@TheEloeo disgusting? luzlz. it's not like they're covered in germs. rivers cuomo is my co-pilot.
@WhatsAnAvailableName i never said i didn't want to. wait until i actually say i don't want to. :-P
The snow is a sign the winter is going to suuuuck. Lol And I never heard of Milo,but I just check him out and it was prettt dope. And maybe you should check out Passport Sport "Be Something"
Very glad I checked this out. I spy a great future for mr Milo. This is how "nerdcore" should be done honestly.
@Zeglenite bad vibes! hah! i frigged up!
@ToxicMayo9 luzlzuzluzluzzluzlzuzluz
@MDJarv i've hit puberty!

@marcelofk1 swag swag.
I thought it was going to be Milo from Descendents, but even better that its a new hip hop artist to check out!
HAHAHAHAH!! Death Grips 4:58 too fuckin funny
Andrew Starace whats the joke?
Where do i get this album from?? heard the song The confrontation at Khazad-dûm on the radio last and loved it. Would love to get this album
Yo, Milo's dope. I'm playing some of his tracks on my school's radio....
Fantastic album; classic review
How the hell do you have snow already? I'm in Canada and it hasn't snowed once here!
This might be my pick of album/mixtape of the year. I love it so much.
@djtall23 No it's not; not at all. The suffix 'core,' though it is usually used to refer to a subgenre of hardcore punk, can actually refer to subgenres of various other genres as well. Immortal Technique - The Martyr
Please!
so i opened this video and totally realized, "wait a minute, i KNOW milo! I go to the same freaking school as milo!!!!" this is AWESOME!!!!
@shaynekm01 you can get this album at his bandcamp for 1$ or more, but the song you want is on milo takes baths, which you can download for free
His flow and occasionally depressive subject matter reminds me a little bit of Why?. Especially Alopecia
review that new Anthony Fantano s/t. I heard he plays some instruments on it, creating pleasing noises.
Would it be too mainstream of you to review the new Coldplay album?!? I'd be interested to see what you have to say.
@S0C1ALxINSUB0RDINATE wha?
