Happy Friday BEAT family! I'm so excited about this video. I know many people are reading through the Bible chronologically with me and thousands of others in our community (allenparr.com/biblechallenge). It's still not too late to join! As we do, we are actually in the book of Job (Job lived before Abraham). This exciting brief, but detailed, overview will provide a solid framework for the entire book of Job. I tried something new in this video with my setup. Let me know below whether you like it or not and whether you found this way of learning helpful. Enjoy!

I love the overview of Job. Never realized how early Job existed. Makes me wonder as I go through the Bible chronologically how far Job's story traveled during that time. Makes me wonder about the Exodus and the Hebrews' distrust and "forgetfulness" after crossing the Red Sea.

Hey Allen awesome beautiful teaching but 1 thing I have a view on the last part, Job never lost his children.. you can’t lose what not lost, his 10 children did die but at the end he did get double because after he died he was with his other children, and did Job know that he defeated the devil that day? Because after job you don’t hear anything else from the devil until the New Testament

I really enjoyed hearing a different perspective about his wife. She is judged very often but we tend to forget what she has been through as a mom losing not just one of her children but all of them in a tragic way. It helps us empathize with her a bit and allows us to see what is happening has also affected her life too.

      Amen.
I love the sheer amount of Copium Chrisitans nowadays
I mean, it's obviously so hard to grow up in the Internet-Age
and blending-out every Squaremeter of Reality yelling 'HEY, DIDCHA KNOW
      SCIENCE DEBUNKED THE BIBLE?'
People cope differently with the objective fact that it's objectively proven
that countless different Things in the Bible literally never happened,
but dont worry, that's what Copium is for.
The Flood never happened, Evolution is proven so prove-tastic that it's literally
taught in Schools, ect, ect, ect, ect and super-ect. BUT DONT WORRY,
this 'SOMEHOW' DOESNT MEAN the Bible is B.S!!
'Its actually not a Contradiction, look, we just have to do 25 little Twists and blink-unhealthily
and it suddenly looks Right!" is one way.
But just in general: The sheer amount of Excuses being made-up
      is awe-inspiring.
Excuses is all you have, my Dear Jesus-Followers.
Unfortunately, this doesnt always work: In fact, the Internet-Age (the Ability to now
find facts easy) has led to countless People leaving Faith.
And OH JOLLY, even if we ignore thos that legit say 'Awww, it's that damn pop-music!
Those rapper's songs!! They spread Atheism!", even IF you dont say THAT,
you still need Copium and Excduses and Coping...
You need to keep going, my brothers and sisters in christ! YOU NEED to avoid thinking
why truth and facts literally make people leave your Group! DONT THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT IT!!!
      Amen.
Of course we know why Crime happens and what it does, but let's
blame the Devil to avoid having to study Social Issues and such! Amen.

Thank you for this breakdown. 2 years ago when I lost my second daughter at 11mo, after being rebellious, the book of Job helped me come back to God. I remember one of my 'friends' saying that perhaps her death was a lesson God was trying to teach me. What a statement! Looking back, as much as I felt as if God wasn't with us then, I realise that he was with us every step of the way. We are in a much better place as a family. God bless your ministry

Same here. I responded to Lesson 7 as well. The way I had to find peace with it is to accept that God's will for my life is perfect and anything outside of that would be a detriment to my purpose. He's spoken to me about covetness (wanting things the way others have it) and contentment (accepting what He gives me cheerfully). My husband and I are preparing ourselves to foster a needy child to glorify Him. I am praying that this is the path He wants us to take.

It’s about testing the peoples faith in God. I had my Book of Job moment. A member from my Church molested my nine year old daughter by shoving a cross in her vagina. It was because God knew how much I put my kids first. It was a test whether I would call the police and trust in man or trust God, forgive and pray like Jesus. Vengeance is for God only not the police.
I called the police instead and now was removed from my church. My daughter and I are condemned to hell. I later became an Atheist.

This last month has been rough for my family. My dad had a seizure for the first time in his life, then learned that it was due to a tumor on his brain, then after removing the mass of the tumor learned it was cancerous and spreading, then learned that it was a special case because it was spreading to both sides of the brain, then learned the cancer itself was in the brain tissue, and then they said he might’ve had it for ten years. With all that I wanted to break and just completely give up and turn from God. But a part of me realized there is no hope leaving God. So I decided to change some things in my life listening to a lot of worship music, reading the Bible everyday, praying, and really taking time for God to grow in me. I didn’t realize how much I needed God until recently, and I’ve never been more heartbroken and joyful at the same time. Through the support of family and friends it really helped me.

I think this was an excellent presentation of the book of Job, a book that gave me the chills as a child like a horror story. Now I can truly appreciate its hidden revelations and wisdom. Job is awesome. It represents the ultimate test of our faith and forces our heart to examine whether it loves God enough to say and mean: “Though He slay me, yet will I put my trust in Him!”. For some it may take a lifetime to get to this point. Honestly, only the Holy Spirit could possibly get us out of our fleshly interests and fully embrace any and everything God decides to dish us. Only Jesus can inspire us to take a bitter cup like that of Job and conclude: “Nevertheless not my will, but Yours be done!”.

You are teaching that God goes around testing people by allowing sickness to disasters. We have learned a lot since the old preachers and bible school teachings of Job. Job was not tested by God. Do you really understand the rights of the devil in this world; that God had to legally allow the Devil TO ATTACK . Jobs fear (JOBS FEAR OR negative BELIEVEING).
Now today It is a lot harder for the devil to bring this kind of destruction because of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
[Job 9:33 KJV] 33 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, [that] might lay his hand upon us both.
Job figured out his broken hedged that allow Satan in. The answer is in Chapter 3.

The first part is “the Law,” or Books of Mose. The first five books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy)
The second part is the history books that details Israel’s history. It starts with Joshua and goes through the Judges, the United Kingdom era, the divided kingdom (Israel and Judah), the captivity, and return/rebuilding of Israel.
The poetry section is the Wisdom literature from Job, Psalms, Proverbs, and so on up to Song of Solomon.
The next section is the Prophets (5 major books and the 12 minor prophets).
Then the Old Testament ends and the New Testament starts.
First part of the New Testament is the four Gospel accounts, then the book of Acts.
After Acts you have the Epistles, or letters, written to the Church. You have all the letters written by Paul, John, Peter, James and Jude.
Lastly the New Testament ends with Revelation, the major prophecy book for the New Testament.

The reading plan I’m doing had me start with Genesis 1-11 then switch to all of Job because most historians believe he came after Noah, but also before Abraham. So it’ll have me go back to Genesis for chapters 12-50 right after Job. :)

Appreciate all you do in getting the Lord's message out there and all the work you put into creating these videos!! The only thing I was left wondering about this book is what happened to Elihu? Why did God only ask Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar to bring an offering forth?

Thank you for sharing an over view on the book of Job. For me it revealed the Grace of God. I belong to a reformed church and never understood what reformed theology is but I’m slowly beginning to see its all about the Gospel and Gods Grace. No matter our trials and tribulations he’s there for us no matter what. The Old Testament is full of Gods Grace I’m slowly learning and loving the word of God. I believe God put me into this church to teach me about Gods Grace hallelujah.

Certainly, here's a revised version of your message:
    ---
Thank you for shedding light on this. I've recently begun exploring the Bible with Fr Mike, and I must say, the Book of Job does stir a bit of confusion about the reasons behind our struggles. Your point about not always knowing the 'WHY' behind everything really resonated with me. It seems to simplify life in a way, allowing us to focus more on living through our experiences rather than getting bogged down by the need for explanations.

This presentation style is fresh. The synopsis and highlights on the book were great because reading the book has its challenges.
I liked "the ministry of presence" teaching.
I did not know his wife said he had bad breath...😅thats rough lol.
One thing that I interpreted from the Book of Job is that Job due to his suffering had a greater relationship, love and appreciation for God at the end of the book. No matter how "blameless" and how much "integrity" we walk in God/Christ, the relationship and love can always get deeper for every individual (myself included). It's just a thought, people can take it or leave it.
At the end God also told Job's three "friends" to ask Job to make a sacrifice on their behalf because of their sin (paraphrased)... Job 42:8-9 for the direct words.
Great perspective that we as readers were privileged to see what was going on behind the scenes with God. You are right Job had no clue about the conversation between God and Satan.
For fun, what if God did not restore Job at the end? Does God owe Job? Is God still worthy? (its hypothetical, personal reflection exercise and for fun, no need to turn this question all crazy with criticisms). Whoever reads, no replies needed, answer in the privacy of your hearts.
Thank you so much this is well done! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
