Saw you on Alisa Childers also. Thank you for sharing your information & wisdom ! It is so important for Christians to be discerning in these times!!!!
What she is saying is what I truly felt when I first heard about this "affirmation", "claiming" thing. In every prayer that Jesus demonstrated, He says, "not My will but Yours be done"
This is why Christians have a hard time with digesting disappointment and enduring suffering. There is a difference between having faith/clinging onto God’s promises and prosperity Gospel/Word of Faith theology, and that is humility! Maturity in Christianity is praying that God’s will be done and not ours. And that we be accepting of His Good & Perfect will for our lives, despite our desires and preferences.
@KaduKween Maturity in Christianity... is Not having to rely on videos such as this one in order to know what things to avoid.. AND what things are ODD. as well as Not having to buy.. books like this one in order to help me figure out what a Real Bible believing Christian SHOULD already know.. how's THAT for a definition of a True Christian...? I think Paul the Apostle would some it up as stating.. "one who is feeding off the meat of the word.. Not the milk as babes.."...
@@rileyhiggins4753 show me chapter and verse to prove that Romans 4:17 call out those things that be not as though they are mean something different than what it's saying you need to show me chapter and verse to prove what you're saying otherwise you two are a false prophet because the scripture is very self-explanatory Jesus said to call out those things that be not as though they are now you're saying it means something else show me proof chapter verse and scripture otherwise you're a false prophet also on Hosea 11:9 has nothing to do with calling out those things that be not as though they are these are Jesus's words Romans 4:17 what does Hosea 11:9 have to do with Romans 4:17 to call out those things that be not as though they are
@ for starters Jesus is not speaking in Roman’s it is Paul the apostle. Secondly You are quoting only a portion of Roman’s 4:17 here is the complete verse. as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed-God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. This verse is describing the God we have faith in is the same God as Abraham and the creator of the universe. This verse has nothing to do with what we can or can’t do As for Hosea it is god saying he is god and not man.
@@boom7star731 As an ex-Word of Faith follower, what Melissa is saying is EXTREMELY NEEDFUL, particularly for those who haven't yet been duped by their false doctrines, to keep them from being duped. The door needs to be slammed shut in the face of the charlatans of the Word of Faith.
a christian has humility who prays in the spirit and is surrendered and seeking the Kingdom first with all their heart you can still declare in agreement the Word of God over your life there is a right way and a wrong way but if your heart is in the right place with God He will lead you by the Holy Spirit,. There are two many scriptures that tell us not to deny the Power of God and by prayer we do change the sprititual atmosphere - We need to focus on being filled by the power of the Holy Spirit and we don't have to accept if you are sick but we can ask and trust God through it. Faith is what pleases God and Mellisa seems to be against the Faith movement which is revelation from the Holy Spirit
Exactly and ppl that keep saying everything is positive or negative yet won't say sin, wrong, right etc....its witchcraft whether new age or new thought or whatever word is utilized it's witchcraft
In my depression I tell myself that I am valued by God or I am made in his image or I am loved to remind myself of these biblical truths, what God’s word says of me to combat the lies of the enemy. The difference with these “I am” statements and that of new thought, is that this is what God says of me, of His people. I rely on what God has done for me. Funny thing, though, is that before I heard of new thought I did worry I was doing what they do. So glad for this discussion.
You are so right! It's so important to remind yourself of who you are IN CHRIST JESUS. That truth and speaking it, freed me from decades of depression. So do not give up, the enemy hates it when you tell him "it is written:... ".
Yes this is so true I have had a few told me don’t say you’re sick. Don’t say you’re broke that you don’t have money. They say you must speak things into existence. So thank you for explaining this, we are always learning something new everyday.
My copy arrived today! Can’t wait to read it. I have a friend that is involved in this deception and I never knew how to approach the subject with her. Just kept praying for the open door. A copy of Melissa’s book could be my answer🙏🏽
this was such a fantastic episode!! it is insane to me how this is basically an MLM outline! my husband & i were in amway for 10 years & literally every single one of these applied. we weren't allowed to be negative, had to speak affirmations (if we were a serious business owner), were encouraged to attend a prosperity gospel church all about declaring & decreeing, read all of the books you mentioned along with others, prophesied our futures, & so much more! it's also crazy to think about how i had an upline who was always sick, but *never* said it because that was "being negative", but i later read from a neuroscientist how you quite literally rewire your brain when you lie to yourself with "positive affirmations" & don't speak truth! so she was basically teaching her body that the state of sick she was in was good & normal. it has taken sooo much to heal from this mindset! i'm still working on it. i still have moments when i get scared to say something out loud. this definitely needs to be talked about more!! thank you for doing this!! 🖤
I can totally relate to your story. Upline leadership from Bill Britt on down harped on “name it and claim it” and speak it into existence. Acknowledging sin is being negative. We had a regional event and Kenneth Copeland spoke on Sunday. And I saw that there were Amway Christians.
As an icu nurse mind set does affect your health, but it’s just a component to the holistic care of a patient. Yeah. You got sick from a germ of some type but your thoughts alone didn’t lead you to getting sick. As far as the healing process of said sickness your mindset does matter.
A rejoicing heart doth good to the body, And a smitten spirit drieth the bone. -YLT A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones. -NASB -excerpt Proverbs 17
I ordered that book after I saw her interview with Becket Cook and it’s on the way. It’s scheduled to arrive tomorrow!! Good stuff, glad to see this interview as well!! You are rock solid in pursuing truth!!
Declaring that is not the same as ordering God around like he's a magic genie. It's literally stating facts-his promises! If anything, that's a declaration of faith.
@@argieholliman6231I never said he was. You basically said what I said, right back to me. Why? 😂 I was saying NOT to order him around like a magic genie... But declaring his promises to us is just that...it fortifies your faith. I recite scripture to God all the time in prayer. His promises are amazing!
I love Melissa! And she is how I found you! Great interview. I’m so glad that you guys continue to spread the news and educate Christians in this time of compromise and deception. Keep speaking truth!! (My book was delivered today, Melissa :-)
This is a nightmare for us in the UK soooo many primary schools age 4 to 11 have yoga as part of their PE sessions and their Mental health awareness programme. It worries me so much
Nothing wrong with praying for a Discerning Spirit but at the same time don't twist God's word Jesus himself said call out those things that be not as though they are that's why so many Christians are getting sick and some of them are dying early because you allow false Doctrine to tell you that if you are saying you are healed when Jesus said call out those things that be not as though they are Jesus is a commandment he gave you a commandment is either going to follow it or you don't false Doctrine and the devil trying to turn you away from good things that God has in store for you but you have to open your mouth and call out those things that be not as though they are is he going to follow Christ and listen to what he says or you're not it's that simple
@ I really don't know what you are trying to communicate here??? BUT there is no twisting of God's word here it is simple, your comments have made it complicated...Discernment 101 = The Bible says that discernment is the ability to distinguish between good and evil, and to test what is true and what is false. It also says that discernment can be obtained through understanding God's Word, experiencing God's grace, and praying for it.
@robg_ YES YOU and these two in the video is twisting God's word because Jesus made it plain call out those things that be not as though they were it's very simple Romans 4:17 so to call out those things is an affirmation and the Holy Spirit just brought it to my attention also that I should add when he says let the six say they are well that's also an affirmation let the Poors say they are rich that is also an affirmation Let the weak say they are strong that is also an affirmation and these are all scriptural so for you to twist the word as if affirmations is a sin it's not Jesus said to call out those things that be not as though they are what part of that don't you understand
@@calvaryrisen The Saints vs. The Wicked at the Second Coming At the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, there will be a clear separation between the saints (righteous) and the wicked (unbelievers). Their destinies are completely opposite-the saints will be glorified and taken to heaven, while the wicked will be terrified and destroyed. --- 1. The Saints (Righteous) at the Second Coming A. The Saints Rejoice When Jesus Appears The righteous will not be afraid at Christ’s return because they have been waiting for Him. Isaiah 25:9 (KJV) "And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation." The saints will joyfully welcome Jesus and praise God for their deliverance. B. The Saints Are Resurrected and Given Glorified Bodies The righteous who have died will be resurrected first, and those still alive will be transformed. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV) "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (KJV) "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." The righteous dead rise first and receive immortal bodies. The righteous who are alive are instantly transformed into glorified bodies. C. The Saints Meet Jesus in the Air and Are Taken to Heaven The saved do not remain on earth after Jesus comes but are taken to heaven. John 14:2-3 (KJV) "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." Jesus takes the saints to heaven to live with Him during the 1,000-year millennium (Revelation 20:4-6). --- 2. The Wicked (Unbelievers) at the Second Coming A. The Wicked Are Terrified and Try to Hide Instead of rejoicing, the wicked are filled with terror when Jesus appears. Revelation 6:15-17 (KJV) "And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" The wicked realize too late that Jesus is real and that judgment has come. Instead of repenting, they try to hide from Christ’s glory but find no escape. B. The Wicked Are Destroyed by the Brightness of Jesus’ Coming Because they rejected salvation, the wicked cannot stand in the presence of Christ’s glory. 2 Thessalonians 2:8 (KJV) "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming." Jeremiah 25:33 (KJV) "And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground." The wicked who are alive at Christ’s coming will be destroyed by His glory. Their bodies will be left unburied because no one will be alive to bury them. --- 3. The Destiny of the Saints vs. The Wicked --- 4. Conclusion: A Great Separation at the Second Coming The saints are resurrected, glorified, and taken to heaven to reign with Christ for 1,000 years. The wicked are filled with fear, try to hide, and are ultimately destroyed by Christ’s glory. This separation is final-there are no second chances after Christ returns. This is why the Bible warns us to be ready for Christ’s return: Matthew 24:44 (KJV) "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." Now is the time to choose Christ, so that we may rejoice at His coming rather than fear it.
My family left the Catholic church for Religeous Science church as a teenager and THANK GOD, I never bought into it. I was truly frightened by the idea of I am equal to God. I think that we've left the fact that God is sovereign, so whatever may be wrong or going on with me is my cross to bear... I can't pray the suffering away or speak it into existence. I have to learn to worship God and trust him whether I'm healed or not. I may never get healed it may not be God's will, it may not be. My portion is whatever is in the cup, and that part of Jesus we don't want.
This was such a great discussion. I appreciate you two sharing about how we need to be careful to study God’s Word and to discern His will. My Pastor is one of the ones who preaches the Gospel every Sunday. I’m very thankful for him.
So glad to hear this brought forth so clearly. Thank you! I was heartbroken when a very good friend unfriended me on FB when I mentioned that I could not 'speak healing' to her husband's cancer. I told her I would certainly pray for healing for him. She told me she could not have any of my negativity on FB. Due to this cancellation, I had no updates on her or her husband. He eventually passed, and she also passed 2 yrs later (heard from her brother) as she was so depressed that she did not take care of herself after her husband died. Sad.
Yay! Two of my favorite TH-camrs on one podcast! Great content, too. We have to know what's in the Bible so we can spot counterfeit ideas. God bless you both!!
I feel so much better. I have had 4 years of Christian planners that Vision Board is blank. I prayed over it, and nothing ever came so I left them blank. Whew. I am not crazy, Thank You Jesus for discernment.
Amen. Christians meditate but we meditate on God’s word-Psalm 1:1-2 and we don’t mix it with yoga, no mixing. Proverbs 18:21 states, Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. This verse highlights the influence our words can have, either building up or tearing down, it’s not about declaring and decreeing what is said in the prosperity gospel teachings. Ephesians 4:29 “Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.”
This is exactly what I needed as a resource, my dear friend has been speaking this and I couldn’t put my finger on it. But after he sent me a billy Carson video things started to make more nonsense. Then Wes huff brought it down. But I got your book and look forward to learning how to define this “NEW THOUGHT” God Bless you!
I've seen a couple of Melissa's interviews for the book and this one was my favorite. I think this interview was the one that touched most on the nuances that are found in New Thought vs historic Christianity. That was a very helpful conversation. I got the audio-book and am starting it tonight.
Would have been nice if these verses were also discussed in relation to the topic: “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says” ~ Mk 11: 23 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words." ~ Prov 18: 21 "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." ~ Heb 11: 1 "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." ~ Matt 6: 10 "For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Cor 5: 7 I don't think word of faith believers think of themselves as co-creators, at least not from where I come (outside US). It's more like they want to have faith to believe God at His word.
Some of the verses that you mentioned are the cornerstone of the Prosperity Gospel and the “Name it and Claim li” doctrine. I accepted Christ during the height of the Word of Faith movement. And the teaching became bizarre to the point of teachers putting an experience over the actual Word. And Mark 11:23 was a cornerstone of the teachings. “You can do anything YOU want and cast life into the sea…(if you just have faith)”. And not God is Sovereign over everything.
This definitely helped me to keep things clear because I had questioned so much. And then there was so much I had no clue about. Thank you both Blessings
Great interview, I always enjoy listening to Melissa's take on this topic... Got the book yesterday on audible and nearly binged it all in one day. Great work Melissa and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the topic of new thought. So thank you Melissa for all the work you put in to it 😀
Don't forget the "Partner with God" I keep hearing over the last several years. God's not your partner. He's your creator. It leaves the person believing they're just as powerful as God - like they're equal in their "partnership." Great job Allen and Melissa. Love you guys! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Dude if you have free will then you can choose to either work with your creator or work against your creator. The meaning behind partner means to agree to be a vessel of God with your conscious consent. Now how is that wrong. The amount of flaky vilifying in US Christianity is laughable. New Thought is as Christian as any other form of Christianity. It is based in scripture and its interpretation.
Freedom of will and freedom of choice are two different things. What does the bible teach about them? Outside of Christ, the will is bound by sin. New thought and new age is in the bible, and spoken negatively against. Galations 1:8
God showed a fair bit of collaboration in Exodus and Numbers. God was going to wipe out the Israelites, and Moses called him out. God apologized and admitted that was evil. He then changed his mind. Im simplifying it, and there is more nuance.
@ okay thanks. He was apologizing that we had to be bothered to open our Bibles . It was so odd. It was a long time ago now but it still rubs me wrong. We should be all about the Bible! Sorry I don’t remember the passage but I hope you understand the context of his apology
My observations in New Thought and New Age is that it's more focused on self rather than God and Jesus. NT and NA heavily emphasize on health and wealth, but not on the fruits of the Spirit like love, joy, peace, long-suffering etc. Also in NT and NA, they to force things into existence and demand from God as if He owes us something.. but Jesus, in His prayer said "Lord, let your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven."
I've read think and Grow Rich, the Richest Man in Babylon, The Secret, etc as well as the books of Neville Goddard, Bob Proctor., etc. Their focus on is on personal desires. I've been reading the Bible lately and it's focused in God and what Jesus has done and will do in our lives. What's your comparative analysis based on? If you allege something then prove it. Your baseless allegations do not have a leg to stand on.
I have been saying for years that MLM is like being in a prosperity church. It’s literally the same feeling/experience. Thank you for calling that out!! All of this 🔥.. going to buy the book!!
Thank you Allen and Melissa for this great discussion. Regarding affirmations - Maybe people need to stop focusing so much on what or who "I am" and think instead on who God is. When our focus is on Him, we don't need the self-talk because the Holy Spirit lets us know who we are in Christ.
1 Corinthians 13:6-7 (KJV) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
I am a therapist, and a vision board is nothing but writing down what you want to occur in the future nothing more. Use a vision board with scriptures stay on the scripture if scripture being used.
How to Identify and Expose False Teachers in the Last Days The Bible warns that in the last days, many false teachers and false prophets will rise up, deceiving people and leading them away from God’s truth. Jesus, Paul, Peter, and John all warned about this great deception. Here’s how to identify and expose them using the Bible. --- 1. False Teachers Reject or Distort God’s Commandments 1 John 2:3-4 - "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." False teachers will downplay, change, or reject God’s commandments, especially the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus warned that those who practice lawlessness will be rejected (Matthew 7:23). How to Expose Them: ✅ Ask: Do they teach obedience to all of God’s commandments, including the Sabbath? ✅ Compare their teachings with Scripture. If they say the commandments don’t matter, they are false teachers. --- 2. False Teachers Preach a Different Gospel Galatians 1:8-9 - "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed." Many false teachers preach a gospel of lawlessness (that obedience isn’t necessary) or a prosperity gospel (that God only wants you rich). Some twist grace, saying, “We are saved by grace, so we don’t need to obey God.” But true grace leads to obedience (Titus 2:11-12). How to Expose Them: ✅ Ask: Do they preach obedience to God as the result of grace, or do they teach cheap grace without repentance? ✅ Compare their gospel with what Jesus and the apostles taught. --- 3. False Teachers Are Loved by the World Luke 6:26 - "Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets." True followers of Christ face opposition (2 Timothy 3:12), but false teachers gain worldly fame and approval. They preach what people want to hear, not what they need to hear. How to Expose Them: ✅ Ask: Are they popular with the world? Do they avoid preaching about sin, judgment, or obedience? ✅ If they are loved by unbelievers and never face opposition, they might be false teachers. --- 4. False Teachers Perform Miracles but Are Lawless Matthew 7:22-23 - "Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" Miracles do not prove someone is from God. Satan can deceive through signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9). Obedience to God’s commandments is the true test, not miracles. How to Expose Them: ✅ Ask: Do they focus on miracles and emotions but ignore obedience and repentance? ✅ If they perform wonders but reject God’s law, they are false teachers. --- 5. False Teachers Are Greedy and Exploit People for Money 2 Peter 2:1-3 - "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies... By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words." Many false teachers are obsessed with money. They preach a prosperity gospel that claims God wants everyone rich. They sell miracles, healings, or “anointed” items for money. How to Expose Them: ✅ Ask: Do they constantly ask for money, sell “blessings,” or live in luxury while exploiting their followers? ✅ If they are more focused on money than preaching the truth, they are false teachers. --- 6. False Teachers Twist Scripture 2 Peter 3:16 - "They twist [Paul’s] letters to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures." False teachers take Bible verses out of context to fit their own agenda. They often misinterpret Paul’s writings to claim that the law is abolished. How to Expose Them: ✅ Compare their teachings with the entire Bible, not just isolated verses. ✅ If they contradict Jesus or the Ten Commandments, they are twisting Scripture. --- 7. False Teachers Persecute True Believers Revelation 12:17 - "And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." The Antichrist system will persecute those who keep God’s commandments. Many churches today mock or attack those who keep the Sabbath or teach obedience to God's law. How to Expose Them: ✅ Ask: Do they criticize or mock those who keep God’s commandments? ✅ If they attack biblical obedience, they are under Satan’s influence. --- Final Warning: Test Every Teacher by the Word of God 1 John 4:1 - "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." Isaiah 8:20 - "To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." How to Test a Teacher: ✅ Do they keep and teach all of God’s commandments? (Exodus 20, 1 John 2:3-4) ✅ Do they teach the true gospel or a different gospel? (Galatians 1:8-9) ✅ Are they loved by the world or persecuted for the truth? (Luke 6:26) ✅ Do they emphasize obedience to God or just miracles? (Matthew 7:22-23) ✅ Are they focused on money and wealth? (2 Peter 2:1-3) ✅ Do they twist Scripture to fit their own message? (2 Peter 3:16) ✅ Do they attack those who keep God's commandments? (Revelation 12:17) --- Conclusion: Expose False Teachers and Stand for the Truth Ephesians 5:11 - "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them." 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 - "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ... Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works." What Can You Do? ✅ Stay grounded in the Bible - Know God's Word deeply. ✅ Test every teacher - Compare their teachings with Scripture. ✅ Warn others - Help people see the truth. ✅ Stand firm in obedience - Keep God's commandments and have faith in Jesus (Revelation 14:12).
To sum all this up; Truth & Comfort are the works of the Holy Spirit which is why we must center on our Lord Jesus Christ and not ourselves. Melissa mentioned it, humility. It’s the sign of true Christian..to give up myself to God, and take up His life for all else.
I have really been enjoying watching Melissa bring her book and this topic to light on multiple YT channels. When I left new age practices I was easily sucked into the new thought/word of faith movement and was deceived all over again. Praise God there are still faithful ministers of the true gospel. I heard it, repented, and was born again for real. Talk about a mind blowing and desire changing shift! I thank God for Melissa's discernment for truth. New thought is being exposed, Amen!
This is a very relevant issue in the church today. I hear “New Thought” language creeping into the prayer meetings at my local church. I’ll be ordering your book and going down the rabbit hole.
This is awesome! I sub to her channel so I have heard a lot of this before. It is so subtle, it will grab you and make you think it's scriptural. I have a friend who is heavy in this and he doesn't see anything wrong with it. Also ladies at my church do affirmations, almost got me doing them but for some reason I didn't do them. They told me to put post-it notes with affirmations and scriptures on my bathroom mirror, over my coffee maker, etc. Thank you for this, both of you.
This is the “world” I was saved from. 100% caught up in it even after turning to Christ. God woke me up!! Praise Him ❤ Allen, Pastor Mike from CalvaryPSL (Port St Lucie, FL ) introduced me to Jesus!! The sermon was on Mark 2:23-28. When I walked into that giant room, Holy Spirit Grabbed me!! I had no idea what was going on but what I prayed in the parking lot before I went in (suicidal) He changed. HE Changed everything!! Praise the Lord for Pastor Mike and Calvary!! They will always hold a dear place in my heart ❤ I miss them
I’m so thankful my church is a Bible believing church and we have a Bible preaching pastor. We visit in the community and the gospel salvation message is given at every service.
What of the scriptures..in old and new testament... 'think on these things' 'for what comes out of the mouth...' 'seek ye first...' 'guard well your mouth for out of it comes...'
I think it depends on how it’s being said. Because some do say it as in “Jesus is in us and it’s Him who works through us”. But others in the new thought stuff say it as if we are as divine as God Himself. Which is horrid and blasphemous.
@@mychelledismuke8234 Yes. Jesus is enough. We aren’t. That’s my point. The context is new thought that is being talked about. I’m not enough in and of myself. It’s a motto in our culture for everyone though. If someone is told they are enough and Jesus is left out of the conversation it makes the phrase devoid of meaning or empty.
Our actions will reflect our thoughts. If we decide we like someone or don’t like someone in our mind, then we will look for things that person says and does to justify our thoughts towards them. Think of any book with a sickly or disabled child in it, such as the Secret Garden. The child was bedridden because people thought he would never get better and would be an invalid his whole life. Mary came in and decided she wasn’t, so she took action to get him outside in the garden which led to him getting better. He didn’t get better from manifested thoughts but action on behalf of someone. Our thoughts affect our actions and viewpoints. Things don’t change just because we say certain words, pray just the right way, or envision it.
As you read Proverbs, from which that verse comes, you will find he is referring to two different classes of people: the righteous wise who fear God, and the lawless fool who hates God. The good thoughts of the wise mind, which leads to a good life in fellowship with God, come from a mind that devours His word daily and puts it into practice in his life in obedience to God.
It’s crazy that everything that is being talked about is an mirror of how we’re supposed to live as Christians as Christ lived, but just distorted and without the big G God
This is weird. When I was a kid, I never wanted to admit I was sick, because I thought if I did, I'd be speaking it into existence in a way. I had no idea of any of this, and knew very little about what was in the Bible. I also never faked being sick because I thought I'd end up getting sick for real as a result. Always had a phobia of being sick. But it's similar to what she's talking about.
In this day and time, many people are deceived into thinking they can speak things into existence. God is the Only One who calls things that be not as though they were.
@@janicewhoustonI think you're taking, "you shall decree a thing and it shall be established" out of context, like many believers...also life and death are in the power of the tongue. When we make declarations, we use the Word of God and nothing else. We are called to be kings and priests...One of the roles of a king was to issue Godly decrees to a nation. Please try to understand the importance of declarations...we are declaring the Word of God over situations like sicknesses etc.
@@lelohadebe9122 Solomon did not mean what the Word of Faith teachers mean by "life and death are in the power of the tongue." They always abuse that scripture. Neither Solomon nor his father David taught Word of Faith. If they had, and it worked for them, they would have produced the same healings as Jesus, but they didn't. Jesus delivered me from the lies of the Word of Faith many years ago, just like He delivered Melissa, Rosebrough, Sean Christie, and many others. We know the truth.
I was attending a church were I was very active with "mini church" small and ladies ministry. The ladies ministry started to bring in contemplative prayer. I was a leader in a small group and we were given the book Mansions of the Heart. I read it and was so distraught that this book was even suggested. I went to the head of the women's ministry who was behind bringing this book in. I discussed my concerns with her. She was very good at defending her position with scripture. I ended up taking a class on Bibke interpretation and made a decision to leave the church. I was heartbroken because I felt I was losing family. I met with the pastor to let him know why I was leaving and he just denied that it was in his church.
Satan will always counterfeit the truth. You can say affirmation of what God says in His word , not because you believe you are Devine like God. But because you believe what God says and you come in agreement with His word about you and your circumstances. As it says in Romans 10:10 “ For it is with your heart you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” “ Let the weak say I am strong” Joel 3:10 When you as Christian declare or say God’s word, you don’t say to manifest it or as some kind of spell that will make it happen. You say it because you believe in your heart and thus profess it with your mouth that you believe in God who He is able to do what He says in His word. Just like God told Israelites that the promised land is theirs when they came out of Egypt. But it was not theirs yet, they didn’t possess it physically. They had to believe God’s word even though they didn’t see it, because what they saw was them being much weaker then those giants.
.. very true I 🤔 think they mixing new age teaching is assorted with gospel faith....Satan is a thief he steals from the bible mix his own doctrines.....
Affirmations can just be Gods promises and truths but can be called affirmations. Period.everything doesn’t need to be taken so literally it’s truly a fine line..I say this as Christian
I wish there was a ahortcut but there isn't. The only way is to present the truth with humility, use a boat load of patience and prayer. We can only sow seeds. Over time the Holy Spirit will get a foothold and their eyes will be opened if they choose to embrace the truth. Getting someone out this cult mindset usually takes years to breakthrough especially if the person grew up in this movement. What we cannot do is berate or bash them on what is clearly deception to us but "truth" to them because that will make them pull away from us even faster.
If you're referring to helping other Christians who are straying, maybe show them videos like this, ask them why they're exploring NT/NA things, try to understand them first and then meet them where they're at. However, if they're not Christians to begin with, it's probably best to leave them alone and stop trying to "get through" to them for believing differently from you. Trying to help them (if that's what you want to call it) will likely come across as proselytizing. People already dislike Christians for trying to convert them and for viewing non-Christians as needing help.
@@astralyocI would have to disagree with you here. 1. New Testament teachings is full of focusing the believer on the supremacy of the Gospel and the sufficiency of Jesus Christ. 2. And the ultimate importance of the relationship between the believer and the non believer is the need for the Cross. Apologetics. That comes with maturity in Christ. Acts 17 has the Apostle Paul rehearsing the Gospel message to the learned at Mars Hill. He preached to men who gathered together to discuss philosophy. He never left them alone to their own devices. Paul understood that the message of Christ supersedes the feelings of the world. I’d also say; that being full of the Spirit and walking in the Spirit is more important than the Word of Faith.
This is so good! These are the types of conversations I wish I could partake in with fellow Christians face to face! I pray that God always protects and keeps expanding both of your ministries ❤
Soooo heart warming to see that all the Christian TH-camrs I've been following since COVID are now all on each other's channels!!!😊🔥✨👑🇿🇦 Great video and discussion 👌🏼 Thank you Jesus for all these wonderful people that serve in Your Kingdom 🩶⚜️🪽✨👑
I agree with most of what you are saying, but what about Matthew 21:21 where Jesus said, "If you have faith, if ye shall say unto this mountain, be removed, and be cast into the sea; it shall be done." or in the same vein in Matthew 17:20, "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Isn't Jesus giving us authority through faith in Him? Or do you explain that differently?
You need to understand these passages in light of the overall message of the Bible. Jesus is not teaching that whatever you declare in terms of absolutely anything. It has to be in line with God's will.
33:08 prays Jesus. Thank you for saying it. Why don’t we hear people pray for contentment and humility. The core teachings of the faith teaches us to be content when we have much and when we have little. Our focus should be on serving God in all situations.
I am so glad that you have covered this. I am 69 and gave my life to Jesus when I was 12 or 13, but was reading the Bible and books based on the Bible from the time I could read. I feel God protected me through my familiarity with His word and through his protection from some of the authors and ministries you mention here. New Thought is easy for people to be confused by and difficult for Christians to recognize its deception. Thank you for informing people and warning them.
God bless you. I was once caught up in the delusion of the Word of Faith through Copeland many years ago. Thank God, He delivered me after ten years. Here's something to add to your knowledge. None of the early church fathers, some of whom were direct disciples of the apostles (Polycarp of Smyrna, Papias of Hierapolis, Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch, and their disciples, Irenaeus, Justin Martyr, etc.), taught the Word of Faith doctrines. I hope you read them to steer you clear from other false doctrines, such as Preterism.
The devil is a copycat. God is SUPERNATURAL. If you are truly in Christ you know what's of the devil and what's of God. We are to live supernatural bc our Creator is Supernatural.
The Heavenly Father wants us to meditate on things that are good. However, we should never try to override God's will. That's when it becomes witchcraft. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.
I find all of this so confusing. What happened to putting the word in our hearts like Psalm 119:11 (all of 119), Philippians 4:8-9, Psalm 51:10-17, Galatians 5:16-26 and all the other scriptures in the Bible? I believe that anything you say or do that puts you above the Trinity is wrong. I also think that people overuse the term “legalism.” Some use it as an excuse to do whatever they want and some use the term to harshly judge people… it’s so sad that we have to have these things spelled out to us. However, I am very thankful for shows like this that truly want to help people and get them out of the wrong mindsets. Your show made me think of The book of Jude. Thank you both for your hard work and learning and teaching. Many Blessings!
Honestly, the worst anti-God movement had been, is and will teaching for doctrine the commandments of men! Because when we think we know better than the plain word of God, we open the door for all kinds of demonic behaviour. REPENT! The enemy in Rev.12 makes war with those that ARE God's remnant - "which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ". Revelation 19:10 says that testimony is the Spirit of Prophecy. The 10 commandments and prophecy. are 2 ESSENTIAL things for last day true followers of God!
Thanks for having me on Allen!

Congratulations on your book 😊 You've helped me understand some of my past and what some family members are struggling with. 💙
Saw you on Alisa Childers also. Thank you for sharing your information & wisdom ! It is so important for Christians to be discerning in these times!!!!
Thank you for your time, I can't wait to read your book this weekend
I was excited to see that Allen had you on after watching you on Cross Examined!
What she is saying is what I truly felt when I first heard about this "affirmation", "claiming" thing. In every prayer that Jesus demonstrated, He says, "not My will but Yours be done"
Ooo that’s good ❤
This is why Christians have a hard time with digesting disappointment and enduring suffering.
Say it again for the people in the back! ❤🙏🏾
@KaduKween
Maturity in Christianity... is Not having to rely on videos such as this one in order to know what things to avoid.. AND what things are ODD.
as well as Not having to buy.. books like this one in order to help me figure out what a Real Bible believing Christian SHOULD already know..
how's THAT for a definition of a True Christian...?

As someone who grew up in Christian Science, this all sounds so familiar. It breaks my heart for all who get caught up in these false teachings.
This is also pervasive in Christian churches across America. So much of this sounded so familiar to my upbringing.
What false teachings are you talking about the Bible I read in Romans 4:17 says call out those things that be not as though they are end of story
@@shawbrothersgirl2740 you are proving the point. That verse is referencing God. We aren’t God Hosea 11:9

Thanks for platforming Melissa! Her crusade against this deception is very important! This needs to be made known in the Churches!

I love when our Sister said nobody wants to decree and declare contentment and humility.Preac it girl.
a christian has humility who prays in the spirit and is surrendered and seeking the Kingdom first with all their heart you can still declare in agreement the Word of God over your life there is a right way and a wrong way but if your heart is in the right place with God He will lead you by the Holy Spirit,.

Yep, same!
Glad to see this comment because this is the ONLY way, that I understand "affirmations".
Me too! Declaring that I am God's daughter is reminding myself of biblical truth and thwarting the enemy's lies.
No.The word of Yaweah and a relationship with Him is your answer, not man's book.
this was such a fantastic episode!! it is insane to me how this is basically an MLM outline! my husband & i were in amway for 10 years & literally every single one of these applied. we weren't allowed to be negative, had to speak affirmations (if we were a serious business owner), were encouraged to attend a prosperity gospel church all about declaring & decreeing, read all of the books you mentioned along with others, prophesied our futures, & so much more! it's also crazy to think about how i had an upline who was always sick, but *never* said it because that was "being negative", but i later read from a neuroscientist how you quite literally rewire your brain when you lie to yourself with "positive affirmations" & don't speak truth! so she was basically teaching her body that the state of sick she was in was good & normal. it has taken sooo much to heal from this mindset! i'm still working on it. i still have moments when i get scared to say something out loud. this definitely needs to be talked about more!! thank you for doing this!!

How about declaring God's promises?

The Saints vs. The Wicked at the Second Coming
At the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, there will be a clear separation between the saints (righteous) and the wicked (unbelievers). Their destinies are completely opposite-the saints will be glorified and taken to heaven, while the wicked will be terrified and destroyed.
---
1. The Saints (Righteous) at the Second Coming
A. The Saints Rejoice When Jesus Appears
The righteous will not be afraid at Christ’s return because they have been waiting for Him.
Isaiah 25:9 (KJV)
"And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."
The saints will joyfully welcome Jesus and praise God for their deliverance.
B. The Saints Are Resurrected and Given Glorified Bodies
The righteous who have died will be resurrected first, and those still alive will be transformed.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (KJV)
"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."
The righteous dead rise first and receive immortal bodies.
The righteous who are alive are instantly transformed into glorified bodies.
C. The Saints Meet Jesus in the Air and Are Taken to Heaven
The saved do not remain on earth after Jesus comes but are taken to heaven.
John 14:2-3 (KJV)
"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
Jesus takes the saints to heaven to live with Him during the 1,000-year millennium (Revelation 20:4-6).
---
2. The Wicked (Unbelievers) at the Second Coming
A. The Wicked Are Terrified and Try to Hide
Instead of rejoicing, the wicked are filled with terror when Jesus appears.
Revelation 6:15-17 (KJV)
"And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"
The wicked realize too late that Jesus is real and that judgment has come.
Instead of repenting, they try to hide from Christ’s glory but find no escape.
B. The Wicked Are Destroyed by the Brightness of Jesus’ Coming
Because they rejected salvation, the wicked cannot stand in the presence of Christ’s glory.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 (KJV)
"And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming."
Jeremiah 25:33 (KJV)
"And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground."
The wicked who are alive at Christ’s coming will be destroyed by His glory.
Their bodies will be left unburied because no one will be alive to bury them.
---
3. The Destiny of the Saints vs. The Wicked
---
4. Conclusion: A Great Separation at the Second Coming
The saints are resurrected, glorified, and taken to heaven to reign with Christ for 1,000 years.
The wicked are filled with fear, try to hide, and are ultimately destroyed by Christ’s glory.
This separation is final-there are no second chances after Christ returns.
This is why the Bible warns us to be ready for Christ’s return:
Matthew 24:44 (KJV)
"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh."
Now is the time to choose Christ, so that we may rejoice at His coming rather than fear it.
My family left the Catholic church for Religeous Science church as a teenager and THANK GOD, I never bought into it. I was truly frightened by the idea of I am equal to God. Thank you for getting this out there and shining a light on this. Too many people believe that they are"good" Christians because God is their co-pilot. Bless you

Jesus takes the saints to heaven to live with Him during the 1,000-year millennium (Revelation 20:4-6).

Ain’t no way my two favorite TH-camrs did a video together…
Never thought this day would come 😮
I thought they have made a video together already.🤔

So glad to hear this brought forth so clearly. Thank you!
I was heartbroken when a very good friend unfriended me on FB when I mentioned that I could not 'speak healing' to her husband's cancer. I told her I would certainly pray for healing for him. She told me she could not have any of my negativity on FB. Due to this cancellation, I had no updates on her or her husband. He eventually passed, and she also passed 2 yrs later (heard from her brother) as she was so depressed that she did not take care of herself after her husband died. Sad.
This is so sad, but I applaud you for speaking truth. This kind of thing happens in many relationships
Yay! Two of my favorite TH-camrs on one podcast! Great content, too. We have to know what's in the Bible so we can spot counterfeit ideas. God bless you both!!
Just checked Amazon, and Melissa's book is OUT FOR DELIVERY today, too! What a happy coincidence! 🥰
Ephesians 4:29
“Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.”
i hate when someone ask me for my sign. i’m like “no i don’t do that stuff”
Wes put the nail in Billy’s coffin of lies
Thank you for hosting Melissa as we really need to understand what is pervading our culture.
I've seen a couple of Melissa's interviews for the book and this one was my favorite. I think this interview was the one that touched most on the nuances that are found in New Thought vs historic Christianity. That was a very helpful conversation. I got the audio-book and am starting it tonight.
I respect her boldness and may also get the audio book.
Would have been nice if these verses were also discussed in relation to the topic:
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says” ~ Mk 11: 23
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words." ~ Prov 18: 21
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." ~ Heb 11: 1
"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." ~ Matt 6: 10
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Cor 5: 7
I don't think word of faith believers think of themselves as co-creators, at least not from where I come (outside US).
Don't twist the word
Thank you for posting this comment. This is exactly how I was feeling
@@ZechariYahweahschild Who’s twisting Scripture? If you are referring to me; I pray you understand sarcasm?
Thank you for saying this because now I’m wondering if word of faith means something totally different in the US
This definitely helped me to keep things clear because I had questioned so much.
So thank you Melissa for all the work you put in to it 😀
My book arrived today - can't wait to read it! ❤ I'm so glad you two collaborated for this video 🤗

Psalms 139:14
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
What a fantastic conversation! Thanks for sharing this with us, Allen and Melissa! God bless you both. 😎
You are reaching...its very possible to work agains God regarding your destiny.
Dangerous
That hit me "you're behind on your rent, you have no money in the bank" Yep i concur
I went to a seeker church that actually apologized for asking us to look at a Bible passage. That was my last Sunday there
Wait.. that's confusing
@ I edited my comment
@@valeriejohnson1043 I'm still confused... Why did he apologize? What was the topic? What was the passage? What's the context?
@ okay thanks. He was apologizing that we had to be bothered to open our Bibles . It was so odd. It was a long time ago now but it still rubs me wrong. We should be all about the Bible! Sorry I don’t remember the passage but I hope you understand the context of his apology
@@valeriejohnson1043 honestly, i still don't. But it's ok if you can't remember. It's a long time ago.
A missionary friend invited me to a Klemmer Seminar and after attending one day I went on a deep dive. Stay alert and awake Church! Study the Bible
That’s deep 🙏🏽 that’s a great observation.
On point
You understand neither New Thought or New Age.
Exactly!! ☝️✝️🙏
1 Corinthians 13:6-7 (KJV) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
I am a therapist, and a vision board is nothing but writing down what you want to occur in the future nothing more. Use a vision board with scriptures stay on the scripture if scripture being used.
How to Identify and Expose False Teachers in the Last Days
The Bible warns that in the last days, many false teachers and false prophets will rise up, deceiving people and leading them away from God’s truth. Jesus, Paul, Peter, and John all warned about this great deception. Here’s how to identify and expose them using the Bible.
---
1. False Teachers Reject or Distort God’s Commandments
1 John 2:3-4 - "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."
False teachers will downplay, change, or reject God’s commandments, especially the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11).
Jesus warned that those who practice lawlessness will be rejected (Matthew 7:23).
How to Expose Them:
✅ Ask: Do they teach obedience to all of God’s commandments, including the Sabbath?
✅ Compare their teachings with Scripture. If they say the commandments don’t matter, they are false teachers.
---
2. False Teachers Preach a Different Gospel
Galatians 1:8-9 - "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed."
Many false teachers preach a gospel of lawlessness (that obedience isn’t necessary) or a prosperity gospel (that God only wants you rich).
Some twist grace, saying, “We are saved by grace, so we don’t need to obey God.” But true grace leads to obedience (Titus 2:11-12).
How to Expose Them:
✅ Ask: Do they preach obedience to God as the result of grace, or do they teach cheap grace without repentance?
✅ Compare their gospel with what Jesus and the apostles taught.
---
3. False Teachers Are Loved by the World
Luke 6:26 - "Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets."
True followers of Christ face opposition (2 Timothy 3:12), but false teachers gain worldly fame and approval.
They preach what people want to hear, not what they need to hear.
How to Expose Them:
✅ Ask: Are they popular with the world? Do they avoid preaching about sin, judgment, or obedience?
✅ If they are loved by unbelievers and never face opposition, they might be false teachers.
---
4. False Teachers Perform Miracles but Are Lawless
Matthew 7:22-23 - "Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’"
Miracles do not prove someone is from God. Satan can deceive through signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9).
Obedience to God’s commandments is the true test, not miracles.
How to Expose Them:
✅ Ask: Do they focus on miracles and emotions but ignore obedience and repentance?
✅ If they perform wonders but reject God’s law, they are false teachers.
---
5. False Teachers Are Greedy and Exploit People for Money
2 Peter 2:1-3 - "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies... By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words."
Many false teachers are obsessed with money. They preach a prosperity gospel that claims God wants everyone rich.
They sell miracles, healings, or “anointed” items for money.
How to Expose Them:
✅ Ask: Do they constantly ask for money, sell “blessings,” or live in luxury while exploiting their followers?
✅ If they are more focused on money than preaching the truth, they are false teachers.
---
6. False Teachers Twist Scripture
2 Peter 3:16 - "They twist [Paul’s] letters to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures."
False teachers take Bible verses out of context to fit their own agenda.
They often misinterpret Paul’s writings to claim that the law is abolished.
How to Expose Them:
✅ Compare their teachings with the entire Bible, not just isolated verses.
✅ If they contradict Jesus or the Ten Commandments, they are twisting Scripture.
---
7. False Teachers Persecute True Believers
Revelation 12:17 - "And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."
The Antichrist system will persecute those who keep God’s commandments.
Many churches today mock or attack those who keep the Sabbath or teach obedience to God's law.
How to Expose Them:
✅ Ask: Do they criticize or mock those who keep God’s commandments?
✅ If they attack biblical obedience, they are under Satan’s influence.
---
Final Warning: Test Every Teacher by the Word of God
1 John 4:1 - "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
Isaiah 8:20 - "To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."
How to Test a Teacher:
✅ Do they keep and teach all of God’s commandments? (Exodus 20, 1 John 2:3-4)
✅ Do they teach the true gospel or a different gospel? (Galatians 1:8-9)
✅ Are they loved by the world or persecuted for the truth? (Luke 6:26)
✅ Do they emphasize obedience to God or just miracles? (Matthew 7:22-23)
✅ Are they focused on money and wealth? (2 Peter 2:1-3)
✅ Do they twist Scripture to fit their own message? (2 Peter 3:16)
✅ Do they attack those who keep God's commandments? (Revelation 12:17)
---
Conclusion: Expose False Teachers and Stand for the Truth
Ephesians 5:11 - "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 - "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ... Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works."
What Can You Do?
✅ Stay grounded in the Bible - Know God's Word deeply.
✅ Test every teacher - Compare their teachings with Scripture.
✅ Warn others - Help people see the truth.
✅ Stand firm in obedience - Keep God's commandments and have faith in Jesus (Revelation 14:12).
Why not just all it a goal board?

I’m so thankful my church is a Bible believing church and we have a Bible preaching pastor. We visit in the community and the gospel salvation message is given at every service.
What of the scriptures..in old and new testament...
'think on these things' 'for what comes out of the mouth...' 'seek ye first...'
'guard well your mouth for out of it comes...'
This is an amazing discussion. Thanks for having Melissa join you for this session.
I LOVE YOU AND MELISSA SO MUCH! POWERFUL DUO! PRAISE GOD🙏✝️👑❤️ AMAZING VIDEO THANK YOU BOTH!
I just picked up my copy of Happy Lies. Congrats to Dougherty on this new release!
“You are enough” comes to mind when you guys are talking. The current motto it seems.
But through Jesus are you not enough?
I think it depends on how it’s being said. Because some do say it as in “Jesus is in us and it’s Him who works through us”. But others in the new thought stuff say it as if we are as divine as God Himself. Which is horrid and blasphemous.
@@mychelledismuke8234 Yes. Jesus is enough. We aren’t. That’s my point. The context is new thought that is being talked about. I’m not enough in and of myself. It’s a motto in our culture for everyone though. If someone is told they are enough and Jesus is left out of the conversation it makes the phrase devoid of meaning or empty.
I'd highly recommend Allie Bet Stuckey's book You Are NOT Enough and that's okay!
@ I agree…just was tryna get clarity …thank you ❤️❤️
I love seeing you guys talk together! This collab was great.
This brings to rememberance the saying " So a man thinketh...so is he." 😮
Our actions will reflect our thoughts.
I think people saying "I'll send you good vibes" is the non-Christian variation of "I'll pray for you."
This was awesome and informative. I will share. I pray it will be received humbly and cause repentance to take place.
This was amazing!!! Thank you so much for this!
A lot of people are fooled with yoga not understanding that it's part of Hindu religion!
Yep, no such thing as Christian Yoga. A charismatic church I used to attend had a group.
Yes there isnt anything wrong with positive thinking but they take it to far and people become their own gods.
@@amyscullin9206perfectly put 👌🏾
Thank you both for strengthening our biblical foundation, and helping us sharpen our discernment to the subtleties of the enemy.
I’ve just started watching and it is so good! I love these two!
As it says in Romans 10:10 “ For it is with your heart you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
“ Let the weak say I am strong” Joel 3:10
When you as Christian declare or say God’s word, you don’t say to manifest it or as some kind of spell that will make it happen. You say it because you believe in your heart and thus profess it with your mouth that you believe in God who He is able to do what He says in His word. Just like God told Israelites that the promised land is theirs when they came out of Egypt. But it was not theirs yet, they didn’t possess it physically. They had to believe God’s word even though they didn’t see it, because what they saw was them being much weaker then those giants.
exactly
.. very true I 🤔 think they mixing new age teaching is assorted with gospel faith....Satan is a thief he steals from the bible mix his own doctrines.....
Great conversation, glad I caught it all.
Sending positive vibes instead of Prayer for their healing, Oh dear,
Affirmations can just be Gods promises and truths but can be called affirmations. Period.everything doesn’t need to be taken so literally it’s truly a fine line..I say this as Christian
So the big question, how do we help/get through to these people blinded by this belief??
Whew! That's a tough one right there.
I just bought Melissa's book, I can't wait to dig in! Bless both of you for your faithfulness.

Well said
You need to understand these passages in light of the overall message of the Bible. Jesus is not teaching that whatever you declare in terms of absolutely anything. It has to be in line with God's will.
Great conversation! These are extremely important distinctions to understand
We don't walk by feelings or emotions that are eaisly manipulated, but we walk by Faith!
keep fighting the good fight Melissa! 🙏 thanks Allen for your excellent interview ❤️ praise God!
The devil is a copycat. God is SUPERNATURAL. If you are truly in Christ you know what's of the devil and what's of God. We are to live supernatural bc our Creator is Supernatural.
Thanks
The Heavenly Father wants us to meditate on things that are good. However, we should never try to override God's will. That's when it becomes witchcraft.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.
Very good video. I’ve never thought of these topics before. Always good to do some deep thinking on these types of topics.
A person needs to have their own personal time with the Lord during the week. Read their Word, pray, seek understanding by the Spirit and the Word.
Agree! The entrepreneurial world LOVES new thought!! Allll those books you mentioned! They read them annually, teach from them, etc.
I appreciate this conversation. It was always not benign, just didn't realize what was behind it
