    The MDR-7506 was launched on the market in 1993. A completely different time with completely different needs. It is one of the cheapest but also one of the best headphones on the planet. Changing the design would result in a huge price increase.... So it will not change.

    Agree about the cable regarding modern designs. This design however dates back to the 80s. As far as I’m concerned, it’s grandfathered in.

    Very honest reviews. Thank you. You are not selling us anything. Most other reviwers have a positive impression of everything they review. ;)

    I've got my eyes on this headphone along with the YAXI STPAD2 earpads on Amazon. The earpads are 42 USD, so not cheap, but not super expensive. Can't comment on sound with this mod, but people say they increase comfort.

      They're honestly a joy to listen to. Just not the best option for monitoring. Those Yaxi pads are expensive for what they are. You might want to look into Brainwavz as an alternative.

      @@MasterMarslander Yeah, i definitely will look at them as an alternative if i get low on spending money.

    I mostly like listening to rap/hip hop, R&B, latin and pop music. Would you recommend these headphones for this use case? I've seen a lot of contradiction on the internet/reddit!

      It's a pretty fun sound, so if you want to bop with your music I think it can deliver on that.

    very very strange how you describe the sound of this headphone, i use it for 10 years and i would never call this headphone bass heavy, mids pushed back and no air ??? i am really surprised because my truth is your opposite

      I'm the same way. I've had my pair for 8 years now and I feel that they translate almost perfect to what you are mixing. I actually prefer these over my DT770 250ohm and DT990 250ohm. Not the most comfortable, but when i follow up with my studio monitors (focal twin6 and mixcubes) I have to do very minor adjustments to the mix to translate oppose to the other headphones.

      @@raimondnu3 i recommend you to replace it with a new pair, i had mine for about 10 years, recently purchased the same 7506 model and i couldnt believe how much body i was missing with the old pair

    Great review! An aspiring voice actor here. I love 7506 but it gets warm, and I concern that I may not hear my true voice because the boost in the frequency may falsely lead me to believe in the voice clarity which I actually don't have. That being said, any other headphone you'd recommend? My primarily use is to record my own voice for practice and edit.

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A fellow voice actor, fantastic! Yes, if you want a more neutral and transparent headphone I suggest you look into the HD6XX, HD660S2, DC Aeon Closed X, DC Ether CX, or Rode NTH-100. I have videos on all of these you can check on to see which will best fit your needs, and they all come in a variety of budgets.

      M50X with stock pads? Oh, definitely more comfortable than that.

    If you watch z reviews you may have seen his measuring of cups he uses knuckles 3 knuckles ears are 4 large knuckles from tip to tip this makes most earphones for me on-ear and not over-ear. Any suggestions about cups or phones I don't have access to a wide variety in local stores things like Momentums but didn't impress?

      If you're asking for a recommendation of a headphone for large ears, I'd suggest the Philips SHP9600, Hifiman Edition XS (or similar), or Sennheiser HD800S. Big headphones for a variety of budgets.

      Build quality not great for the price. Many weak spots. I’ve had them break in a few months of indoor use. Otherwise OK. Beyerdynamic or Yamaha better.
