Thank you Sarah, thank you for making this tutorial available to everyone, in size 14 , ,I would love to one day make one in bright yellow 🟡 satin and months later make another in powder blue 🔵 satin ,or taffeta whichever is attainable , thanks Sarah you are beautiful for uploading this 👍👍😂💛💙👍
Someday i will buy myself a sewing machine coz sewing machines here r so dang expensive and hopefully i can make something like this.. u r my inspiration .. love all ur works❤️❤️
This is really great I just bought a sewing machine heavy duty and I’m starting my own business in the plushy/bag region and I’m looking to expand down to things like dresses please skirts shirts and pants this really helped because I also want to make princess dresses for a little kids to these look something straight out of like a really formal occasion so a beautiful
As a beginner who’s learning how to hand sew and learn measuring and sizes it really makes me already want to make a dress but my grandmother said I’m not allowed to use the sewing machine yet so I’m gonna have to use a little one she got for me to practice with, but this will definitely be the first dress I make!
I was so amazed by how pretty you make your diy dresses .. as someone also a self taught and just loving to sew diy clothes this tutorials and videos might be very handy ... Thank you soo much for sharing your ideas ... Although I don't have a machine to sew some of it, I might as well make some with the use of my mighty hands hehe I've sewn quietly a lot though☺️
Ahhh I’m so excited to find your channel. I am just starting the process of making my own wedding dress and have been looking for simple ideas like this on how to make this project manageable for me. I’m binging all your videos now and following you on Instagram, thank you so so much for this content!!!
this is wonderful! I have a question, is the tulle that you use for the bodice a strong mesh, like corset mesh? or a normal (non-stretch?) tulle? Or do you double it up with a corset mesh for structure?
One day I’ll have the time and money to either make my own or be able to afford to have an amazing artist like you to make a beautiful creation for me. 🥲Thank you for making your content.
I could see these dresses in a theatre productuin. If you made a bunch of these, and used a drawstring backing-so anyone could fit in them. I could totally see these on stage or in a movie. You do such beautiful work! My mind is totally blown. I just found you on you tube and cant wait to catch up on all your videos !!!
I have absolutely no experience in sewing, and I’m so bad at diy stuff, but after seeing this I really want to try. Will probably find someone with experience and let them teach me some stuff before I attempt something like this. It really helped tho ;-; (I legit got a needle stuck HORIZONTALLY between two fingers in 1.3 seconds. And closed my fingers up in a panic. Thank god I didn’t prick myself too hard)
I am learning to sew for multiple reason the main one is that it’s going to be my moms birthday in 4 months and two days and she rlly wants this dress but it’s expensive for me to afford being just a kid so I want to learn how to sew to make it for her so thank you
is there a place where i can read a detailed way of making the sleeves?? i am in the process of making a big dress and need those kinds of sleeves...love your work ^^
Hey Sarah, I'm wondering how many metres of that skirt fabric from etsy did you need? I'm also really interested in the quality of it! This dress turned out so pretty!
I purchased the 5 yard bundle of it, and it came really stiff so you will need to steam it (with a steamer or hung in the shower with hot water running nearby) to get the softness back to the material. But the quality is really nice, and it photographs nicely as well
I'm so happy you made this tutorial, no one else explains how to make this! How would you make the dress with the same top and sleeves but with just a full/flowy skirt instead of the ruffles?
I’m barely starting to learn how to do all of this, generally. And your channel is a blessing, cause' I always wanted to learn, but I thought I couldn’t do it, and you just make me think I actually can and you give me an option, since is self taught, is easier for me
Thanks for this tutorial. Can you please share more in detail how you made the ruffles for the skirt? It looks like a lot of layers and did you get the tulle into strips? Looking forward to hearing from you. Clarify, skirt measurement: Purchase 5 yards of 46" width fabric depending how tall you are?
It took me about 8 hours spread over two days so I would give yourself a week to work on it! Don’t be afraid to put it down and come back to it later ❤️
you could easily attach the sleeves with a tack stitch right where the bra cup meets the side of the bodice near your armpit! a few little handsewn stitches will do the trick
Can I make this with a solid opaque fabric like cotton or linen or is it better to use a tulle? And if it does work using this, is it better to use a stiffer fabric or something more flowy (and what are your recommendations)? Also you say "regular standard zipper." How long is that? And do you sew it to both the skirt and the bodice, just the skirt, or just the bodice - and how? Sorry for all the questions haha. 💗
you can absolutely make this with a cotton or linen, just make sure to follow the grain lines on the cup portion! Once you've sewn the skirt to the bodice, you'll have an opening in the back-I like to use a 22/23" zipper in the backfor closure
It's okay if you don't have an arm you can always make yours by regular 2pc jacket sleeves pattern, this what they told me when i was starting with the basics in our school
