I got some Fable butter recently and when I opened it the consistency was almost liquid from being in a hot mail box. After it dried at room temperature I noticed it was very gritty most likely from the beeswax separating. I heated up the container by letting it sit in some hot water until the butter became a liquid that looked like oil with no white color. I put it in my freezer after that and left it in there for about 4 hours. After removing from the freezer I let it thaw at room temperature overnight and the next morning the butter was nice and smooth with no grit. Pain in the butt I know, but I'm just glad I was able to salvage it. Gritty stuff grosses me out!

Combo butter? I prefer whipped for overnight and poured during the day. How will you select a butter to use on any given day, once you’ve finished reviewing all of these?
I agree with your sentiments that a poured butter can be great for daytime. No real plan for after the series. There are a couple that don’t really care for compared to the others. I’ll just rotate. I have lots of butters from other companies to mix in and test too.
Brilliant series! I won't weigh in on a third category of butter because I'm still trying to wrap my beard around what Beard Butter is. Closest I can come is a product that holds like an oil and applies like a balm. I don't remember ever seeing an industry standard definition of beard butter. I think at first a balm without beeswax would qualify, then a little beeswax was added (to aid in shipping?), and I can accept that. But even a manufacturer's name for the product doesn't help. I don't remember who, but one or two manufacturers said butter can be made from balm by mixing some quantity of oil into the balm before applying. Can You Handlebar calls their balms "dry oils"; The Beardsmith's Beard Grease is, I think, a butter; Honest Amish's Heavy Duty Beard Balm is considered by many experienced users to be a butter; and so on. Butter conditions, but so does oil. Help!
You should try the Iowa butter. The ingredients are blended, but not whipped until it’s light and airy. It’s still relatively dense and works great during the day or at night.
Microwave. I have a melting button on my microwave. I start with that and give it a stir. Then I add 10 seconds at a time and stir until it’s completely melted. Then pop it in the freezer for an hour. Super easy.

adding the butters into a carrier oil blend give some more intense conditioning in my opinion.

I'm a poured butter person. Like a little wax in the butter.
Lots of guys feel similarly. Especially if they wear it during the day instead of balm.
I like the feeling of whipped. I like the feel in beard of the poured better.
