I've made my own beard butters for years and I believe that whipping them once they are nearly set results in a much more like butter consistency. If you don't whip them, the result is much more like a balm, a bit tougher once set.
once i've whipped mine, it's really nice texture, but after a few hours they still set quite hard. any advice on keeping them soft? more butters or more carrier oils neeeded?

@Beardtube I believe if you boil Shea butter it becomes grainy. So you need to try and boil the rest like normal and then take it off the heat for a while so that it is still hot but not boiling and then mixx the Shea butter in. Hope that helps!

That blacklight is the Chizzz! Sometimes I put some in my Stache before bed just to smell it while I’m going to sleep. I wish I knew what they used for the scent. I would buy a cologne if they made it.
If you leave the balms and butters to stand for like a week plus you'll notice they get smoother don't know why just know it does also the unrefined shea butter has a more coarse texture so if you just filter it it also comes out more smooth

Photosensitivity.. check the essential oil online and see if it's an issue, and then just be aware. Lemongrass i know for sure with give the skin some sun sensitivity.
I know you don't want to measure out your ingredients and calculate ratios, but just be aware that essential oils used like that can cause severe skin reactions. Most essential and fragrance oils have SPECIFIC usage concentrations. Differing for both skin and body. Most vary between 1 and 2% of the total formulation. Some essential oils are toxic if used above 0.1% and even less such as Nutmeg. Silly risky to just pour essential oils from the bottle without following maximum concentration guidelines.

Its hard to experiment when you dont know how much of each ingredient your using. Also I used to think you were just probouncing jojoba oil wrong but then you said abacado and I realized your just trying to trigger people LOL
I’ll let you in on a little secret fella. If you want it to be creamy or less solid, you need to whip. Chill it for around 20 to 30 minutes, take it out, whip it then leave it to set again. It generally works better in slightly bigger batches. It also helps if you put a tiny amount of Vaseline or Glycerol in there.

Jojoba is pronounced 'joe joe ba' here in Ireland. Other countries pronounce it as 'ho ho ba'. Both are correct just depends where you're from.
