Excellent musicians - the guitarist has a great tone, in the tradition of someone like Kenny Burrell or George Benson. Jeff is playing simply but he's very tasty in his choice of notes and how he coyly lays back on the time (like a pussycat) and then suddenly pounces (like a lion) - I really enjoyed his solo. Sure, he doesn't have monster chops but he has a very focused awareness and, not surprisingly, a strong sense of drama that brings the point home (more like Duke or Monk than Bud or Herbie). This is fine music.
If you’ve never seen Jeff in the remake of ‘The Fly’ you should absolutely check it out. Apart from being a great movie he also had a scene where he plays piano and shows off a little more than in this video, still love his playing here though. Actually Jeff plays a little bit of piano in that one, too - just briefly. Jeff also was in one of the only jazz films that didn't make me cringe, "Lush Life", where he very convincingly plays a tenor sax player - that's a good film and depicts the day-to-day life of a New York jazz musician, working Broadway shows, doing session work to make a living, besides playing jazz.

I've been playing piano for all my life, and played jazz for 20 some years, I'm pretty much impressed with Jeff Goldblum's solo. I think many jazz players, regardless of instrument, want to show off in the solos in a way to play scales and include some fast runs of the chordal structures, but he keeps it simple and melodic, perfect for his style and manner. Not only himself, but this performance of a classic is awesome!

Потрясающий, вызывающий постоянную симпатию и изумление, человек за роялем.
Goldblum sees no boundaries between theatrical expression and musical expression. He has made a seamless connection between two disparate art forms. Who is the guitarist? He is outstanding.
honestly i’d be surprised if Jeff DIDNT do jazz lol he had that perfect face that jazz musicians do when they are listening to something where you can’t tell if they hate it or love it
He was born in my hometown, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, October 22, 1952. Really enjoyed this. Saw him on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He is smart and charming. Sally Lou
I agree. That solo was so Jeff Goldblum.
If it resembled anything, it was Jeff Goldblum doing Christopher Walken.
I'm a big fan of Jeff Goldblum (I think he's hilarious) so I'm glad I enjoyed this. Which I did, very much.
Daddy Goldblum.
Zapam wamba zaddyyyyy
Daddy Goldblum indeed!!
How did I not know Goldblum was a jazz musician with a band. This is superb!
