BAND-MAID is celebrating its 9th year of formation. BAND was formed by a girl who came to Tokyo from a local large city Kumamoto of Japan to become a singer when she was about 19 years old. Five unique and talented girls gathered. The members have not changed, and they are continuing their efforts to improve their playing ability. They are constantly writing new songs and cool songs. Three new songs were released at the end of October.
BAND-MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs.

2 Sense : The theme song of the anime "Platinum End". Dramatic, fast hard rock with a classic intro. 2021.10

5 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Saiki and Kobato vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful.

8 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile.
The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best.
9 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die.
10 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016
11 Secret My Lips & Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day .
12 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused.
13 RINNE : High-speed rhythmic heavy rock, inspired by the Japanese horror movie "RINNE : Reincarnation".
RINNE (Reincarnation) is also found in Eastern thought and Buddhist thought.
14 onset : Instrumental song for lead singer Saiki breaks, their great playing power and harmony.
15 Play : A song composed as an instrumental song, but Miku added lyrics as Saiki liked it. With different intros depending on the live.
16 Before Yesterday : Record of the first overseas performance, Sakura-Con in Seattle 2016. Melodic Rock with great lyrics.
17 Choose me : An insert song of the concert scene the Netflix movie KATE, they appeared as BAND MAID. Cool rock song.
18 Dragon Cries : The only song produced by Tony Visconti.
It's not their lyrics, but it sings about the future of human society and the earth. Great Heavy Classic Rock .
19 After Life : A homage to the maid cafe and band formation where Kobato worked. BAND-MAID Hard Rock .
20 Corallium : The song that Saiki wrote all the lyrics for the first time. Hip pop style dancing hard rock.
21 Catharsis : A song from Acoustic Live, showing their diversity, and they do their best in every genre.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". I believe the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Talking about hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
This is near the norm for Band-Maid. They have actually gotten harder but they have a lot of variety. Hard rock core but they have layers of blues, metal, jazz, and pop. If you want to see the huge variety, check out the live-online Manners and Black Hole.
Thanks for reacting to my favourite band Band Maid ! This is one of those rare moments where the MV is actually , imo, better than the live , however Kanami's guitar stands out more in this live video. I would recommend you watch 'Domination' the official live next. Enjoy !

A Japanese mostly hard rock band. The founder Miku "rhythm guitar and backing vocals" worked for a time in a traditional Japanese maid cafe. She finally decided to form her own hard rock band rather than fall back into another Jpop group. So, she used the maid uniform image and the play on words to establish their "Gap". Something Japanese record labels are really big on. At first they were under the labels thumb, but since they have had full artistic control of their music they have taken off with the songs that they have been writing. This is an online show they did because their World Domination tour got shut down earily 2020 due to Covid. You should really checkout performances in front of a crowd to see them really shine. The song was a little dig at their previous label, they want the freedom to do their own thing not what they are told to do, so they moved to another label. As to where they are headed, they are doing a tour of the US in the fall, mostly sold out in the first few days. What do they want.... Not much just World Domination : ) Oh and they are Japanese
If you want to see a female rock band, Japan is the answer. Since I discovered J-Rock, I've never seen this many amazing all female rock, punk, hard rock, you-name-the-genre bands. And they are all amazing! BAND-MAID is no exception. You have 5 really talented women. Neither of them has any ego to stand in front of the other. They are as a family. As you work through their discography, you will notice that they shine best when they play live. They really love it. The interaction with the audience is their reward for all the hard work. Another thing you will discover is that they are not related to a genre. They mix everyone they think fits together. Even in a song, they change genre and tempo. For me, this is what I like about them. You can never predict where their music will go. When you think you understand, they will change direction. It's a talent that only good musicians have. I can go on forever, but these girls are out of the ordinary. If you think they're just a bunch of girls in maid costumes playing rock. Then you have misunderstood everything. BAND-MAID is BAND-MAID. That's just the way it is! Welcome into the pigeon hole!

World Domination!
While the warning *is* right there in the title, most people don't heed it until it's too late. The consequence is often sudden incurable addiction to Band-Maid! In my case it also caused loss of money for CDs and a compulsion to pose as a floppy hat while posting comments on TH-cam. I almost forgot to mention it may also cause spontaneous fun and happiness. At least those last two things are rarely fatal!

Normal I would say do Band-maid live performance over the music video, but for the Song “Warning!” Do the music video instead! It’s more fun and it’s a great ride. When you do check out the music video for Warning! Please wear your seatbelt because you going on a great ride!

I don't fully agree, the mv is fun but this is a stonking live performance and I love seeing Akane having so much fun, They generally look more serious in mv's, live is where they break out their smiles.
I also prefer the MV when the option is a livestream live, just because of sound quality. So I prefer the MV also, for this one and also for Manners and Daydreaming. All the rest I like the live more - especially Real Existence, Domination, Freedom, etc.
