they have been the thing that have been constantly impressing me every step of the way. easily one of the most underrated drummers out there, not based on skill, but worldwide notoriety.
That's the thing - once you've entered the magic world of Band-Maid, you cannot leave anymore; not that you wanted to. They are the most reliable band in the realm of rock - a decade of pure brilliance and never a dull moment. And I'm convinced that they haven't yet reached their peak.
Oh don't worry, only 3 songs in and there is no sign of me leaving any time soon
I'm 54 and grew up on rock and for me, this is the first band ever where I have liked EVERY SONG they have done.
Band-Maid fans from all nations and cultures. But we all agree - we shut up when Kaname is speaking/manifesting Mincho-mode. Have a great time with them live - while we in Europe live with hopes while we get that their record company wants to hammer the American market like a blacksmith while the iron is glowing hot.
They better get over by you soon too. And thank you, I am really looking forward to it and experiencing how crazy this show is going to be. Whatever happens, I will be ready
Band-Maid's composition is very distinctive. You'll see many Japanese bands with insane technicality but you'll always come back to Band-Maid and fall in love with them again, because they are so different.
They've done 21 live performances this year and Warning was in 10 of them, playing 53 different songs from their catalogue. I don't think you should take that as having a 50% chance of getting it as they've now had a months break getting ready for the next 2 months on the road and I fully expect they're going to rotate in a good many more songs that they haven't played so far this year. Saiki decides on the setlist for the shows so you could drop her a dm lol
I frankly expect the set list for the second leg of the US tour to be a fair bit different than the first. Guess we'll see in a month.
Thank you for the update on that. We will see what happens but I really hope they play Warning. However, whatever they play I am going to be ready for it to be one hell of a time

The problem with Band-Maid every new song becomes your favorite! The Non-Fiction Days(live) is my latest favorite but it switches constantly. I'll be at Chicago show so I'll keep an eye out for ya!
I am starting to find that out, however this one hit in a different way especially all the different drumming patterns, those were huge wins for me on this track. And if you see the guy in the middle of the pit wearing a Milwaukee Brewers hat, come and say hi. That will be me
@chordprogressionpodcast yeah Akane's drumming is insane and those switch ups and patterns are where her genius shines in all their songs. Good luck getting a pit started you might be able to since it's not a tradition Band-Maid show, (they really never have openers so there will be some other fans there) and if Miku doesn't stop it. I get as close as possible, still have never made it to the rail but this show I think I can do it.
Great reaction! I'd have to recommend watching...all of their back catalogue, especially their live videos...and MV's...and fancams.

Dice MV, Rinne MV, Secret My Lips MV, if you like drums. Band-Maid are spectacular Live of course as everyone will say, but not watching their Music Videos does a serious disservice to really, really awesome sounding songs, and it's a crying shame to miss out on everything Band-Maid has to offer. I like many of their MV mixes much better than the live versions, despite enjoying the whole wondrous vibe of them on stage.
there are plenty of bands like that where sometimes MVs and live show videos and live show experiences in person all differ in some way. and that is all good, allows many more people to get a chance to connect with them
Dice MV is soooo much better....all the live versions the mix has been off and the guitars are just to low....I recommend Manner MV as well if you decide to slide into a groove rock....there I like 4 different guitar rifs and excellent bass work in both the above
I've been a hardcore fan since 2015. Warning! is my favorite song from the entire catalog. It is near perfect. The song that has rapidly climbed the list is Unleash!!! Both are punch you in the face hard rock songs.
I’m still digesting Puzzle, Moratorium, Unfair game, for 4 years. Not to Unseen world yet, although I greatly appreciate Black Hole and Giovanni. Their time will come one day.
Alright I already love the title of the song and if it is climbing your list up to Warning status, I will easily have to check it out
Band-Maid played Warning! at all of their May concerts. My son joined the mosh pit for Warning! at the Sonic Temple Festival, and I wish I had video of that, but it was the last song of the show and I only had eyes for Band-Maid at that moment.
that is fair haha and I hope they play in during the August run here in the US. I will be in the pit for that when it happens, as I will be for the entire show
They have played that at every show since it was released. I've seen them 4 times so far, you are in for a treat. Go with no perceived ideas and just enjoy.

CPP-I saw them in Houston Texas back in May 14th and also went with a group to Nashville,Charlotte Daytona ,Atlanta and they are mind blowing talented musicians from Siaki-an vocals to Akane drums made me happy and memorable afterwards see you in Chicago's Lalapalooza in August -cheers mate

I really do feel Band-Maid is the Beatles of our time. They both were (are) goofy, independent, fascinating characters, individually super talented, incredible band synergy, iconic, charismatic, energetic stage presence, positive, fun vibe, near flawless execution and expression, and prolific song creators... to name a few comparisons.
The biggest difference is today's music scene is massively saturated with talented acts, and has many distractions and options that draw attention away from new potential viewers and fans. And that the rock genre has been in decline. Then of course -- for many regarding Band-Maid -- there's that Japanese language / goofy maid-look thing.
But I believe with the help of bands like Band-Maid, Jinjer and The Warning, etc., heavy, well constructed RnR that really connects is making a comeback and could be headed for another golden age. My heart has hope... Thx, Kevin!
Tom, I gotta say I loved the way you put it out here. There are many bands that are starting to hit right now that could lead rock and metal into a massive comeback, (The Warning, Band Maid, Falling In Reverse, Ice Nine Kills, Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Spiritbox). We just gotta support them and the hope will become reality.
Great reaction and as most fans will tell you, your favorite Band-Maid song is the last one you;'re listening to. Have fun at the Chicago show, drink plenty of water before the show.
i was told the best song is the next one, but both work! I am really looking forward to it and trust me, crazy shows are my thing. So I will be prepared!
"Favorite" is of course highly subjective. I enjoy "Warning" but my own personal favorites are little more off the beaten path ("Clang" and "you."). No MVs but imagine you'll quite enjoy "Giovanni" and something like "Coralium". Frankly spoiled for choice with Band Maid. Explore, enjoy, grow your appreciation.
You are correct it is highly subjective but that is the beauty of music. I will have to check out those that are your favorites as well. I know they all wont be like Warning but the musicianship is always there, so softer, more ballad, and even more experimental tracks will be a trip in themselves
Be aware that Band Maid does have a "softer" side. They have several power ballads, sentimental songs, and acoustic sets. All are great, of course.
Hey, my favorite band has a whole bunch of bangers but have some soft acoustic ballads too, so I am prepared to see that side of them as well. (if you haven't figured out who my favorite band is, I am wearing their shirt in both the video and thumbnail)
Great reaction. I like your style. You might enjoy Different. Very uptempo. Controlled Chaos with one of the more unusual lead riffs you will ever hear. MV mix is better than the Live

It will be the best small venue show of your life. Definitely mine for sure. Live videos are a must....Domination, Onset, Play and many more. I suggest you find at least one of Miku's "omajinaii time" videos or you'll get called out at the show for not participating.

that is what I am hoping for, the expectations are that this is going to be great, but I have no idea what it is going to be like. That is why I wont do a live video until after the Chicago show. And thank you for the omajinaii time suggestion, gotta do one of those now

You like Akane's drumming? "Freedom" (live) is the one you want to react to next. An extended drum solo that will grab your attention. Plus it's a damn good song.
Akane (AKA The Gorilla) is what I call a musical drummer. She is also referred to 'Beauty & The Beat'. Don't talk through the drum solo either Ha!Ha!.

Oh yea all 3 so far, I have been fascinated by Akane's drumming ability, this one more than the other too. And I will start doing live videos after August 3rd when I see them live. Cannot wait so see what the ladies do in a live setting
It’s definitely the longest akane solo but not the most interesting one though. But she really is a musical drummer!

@@lurkmerchant I have to agree with you man. My favorite is 'Black Hole' live. So intense. Unfortunately some of the best parts aren't on camera. We've really got to bend an ear towards her for the whole song to appreciate what she does. So many songs are filled with brilliant drumming that just isn't shown in the clips.

I read the notes in the video correctly that he likes high energy and guitar solos, right? Well, considering the preparation that you're going to see these ladies in August, I'll just say 'Real Existence (Official Live)' and 'From Now On'. :) That you'll get at least the latter of these songs served live should be as sure as the amen in the church. 🔥🤘🏻

I will be more likely to go with From Now On next as I have seen that suggested throughout the last 3 and I wanna see them live without any knowledge of how their show is. Go in as fresh as I can without expectations
Just a heads up that "from now on" is an instrumental from the latest album....they tend to include 1 on each album and it's used as a break mid show for Saki the main singer....Miku the 2nd vocalist was the original lead singer and founder of the band and learned to play guitar after their 1st album. She has a small mid set "talk" with the fans before doing 1 of her songs....she has 1 per album as well
