Glad Ruby was OK. Windiest place I ever camped was the KOA in Moab, UT twice. First time the bolt that held up the center of my tent broke. We were out site seeing Arches NP. The 2nd time we were in camp for the evening eating late, doing laundry when the wind got stronger and stronger. Hardly slept. Sand everywhere including my mouth. Had to shake out all the clean folded clothes in the morning. Tent held up though. Some folks threw their tent in the trunk of there car half hanging out sleepinging in there front seats. Fond memories 36 years ago. 😊. Keep up the great content. Looking forward to your next video.
I have been in and about AZ many years now and it never ceases to be a place worth reruns. Though I do the hotels now cause I can, you guys are doing it a tad more adventurous, the only thing missing from Bixby is the old cars of the era.
Picked up the 1966/69 Apache Chief tent trailer. Restoration begins with all new canvas. Hopefully have it done late summer. Customizing a big YES...!!
Somewhere in the setting you can tell it to not allow dirt (unimproved) roads. We did a similar thing coming back from WV at Thanksgiving and detouring to a tree farm in NC. We wound up on the side of a mountain (for the east coast) on a (some) gravel road. We actually entered the tree farm from a back gate that surprised most of the employees when we came down to the front gate and they couldn't recall a big blue van going into the farm that day.
Yep, with my first camper, I twisted my kurakyn hitch, now it is reinforced and I added the full swivel hitch! Plus rollahome has independent suspension! Pulls so much better! PS- love your morning music of birds! Camping is awesone!!
You have larger tension surfaces on the new tent and your brace poles are much thicker and stronger. You breezeway might be an issue but the tent will be just fine. Extra tie downs on the poles out front and anchor the bed area is all you need to be concerned with
I moved to Vail AZ. a year and a half ago being retired these roads You are traveling have become my exercise of sorts. It's fun to see the Two of filming the same rides I have been doing!!! Wishing Y'all the Best Ride On Oh yea "not all dirt roads are created equal" !!!
Your spaghetti concoction kinda fits one of the several million recipes for “slumgullion”. A slang term my Mom used. It would fit Patrick McManus’ “whatch ya got stew”. By the way, if you haven’t read anything by Patrick McManus, you have a “rib cracking - gasping for breath - while laughing yourself into oblivion” treat in store for yourselves. His boyhood stories are Mark Twainish in style, and all his in content. He wrote several, hilarious books. Another book that matches you two is Blue Highways, by William Least-Heat Moon. His vocabulary tops Michener’s! Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
I love Ruby. That is a perfect set up. I love the repurpose of the washer tub. That is cool. The Llamas are adorable. Nice job tying the camper down. I noticed two eyelets at the back of the tent. It might be good to add those in to your tie down. Great information. Love that man that repaired your hitch so quickly. There are such great people out there. Be safe. Enjoy the journey.
Love your “one dish” meals. You should put together a cook book of your one dish meals. I was very sad to see Your Bunkhouse leave. I’m currently looking for one.
Everything bites and sticks you in AZ! But some great motorcycling country! Lived here for years! I call AZ my home state since I've lived from coast to coast and all through central USA! As a truck driver and a motorcyclist AZ is my home! Family that lives all around the WORLD! DIRT ROADS ARE JUST HARD ON ANY MOTORCYCLE PULLING ANY TYPE OF TRAILER!
Checking back in on your channel after a hiatus watching other things to see how the motorcycle trailer with the solar was doing. Well, got my answer. Looks like more than a few upgrades.
I had to get my hitch repaired in Adrian, TX last summer. if anyone is near midway on old Rt 66 you are close to a great welder. ask for shakey.tigwelded like a pro.👍
You two always have adventure on top of adventure. Lol. Some of which I’m sure you could do without. Can’t believe you bent that hitch. Wow. Thank the lord for a man in the desert named “Hotrod.” Glad everything worked out ok. 👍
You guys are playing in my back yard! Glad you are seeing the good stuff that freeway lovers never do! You two are so good together. Always a pleasure to watch.
A little jealous, I just recently bought a Indian Springfield and I'm wanting to ride. But we are going through a big winter storm here in Wyoming. Just gonna have to wait for warmer weather and watch you folks! Love your channel, keep up the good work.
I was riding in southwestern NM on 3/13 and 3/14.. Trust you were gone by then as I was riding in a "thunder snow" and 50 mph crosswinds through a dust storm. Crazy cold, too. Your weather experience was far better than mine! and that's a thorned-acacia at 6:15, i believe.....
There's always a few small glitches... I remember having a shifter repaired by the local welder in the middle of nowhere. Nice to have that thought triggered. You'll get a quicker pattern worked out. My Mini Mate takes half the setup and/or tear down time of my old tent.
The Alpacas were sooo cute! Given the extended set up and teardown times using Ruby entails, on balance do you prefer using Ruby to using the tent? Or is it much of a muchness? That must have been some tut to bend that hutch plate. Set your Sat Nav to avoid dirt roads and ruts! As always a great video, stay safe.
Thank you for another wonderful recap of a week in your life. Not quite riding weather in Minnesota yet, but your adventures will sustain me for another week. Love you two.....shiny side up!
Another great video. We have been through some big wind storms in our bunkhouse. As long as it isn't raining opening the windows really helps. Keeps it from rocking so bad. Also there are stake holes in the bottom of the leg support for the bed. I have had to use them before. Keep on keeping on and remember... Life is for Fun!!!
Lol you two where literally 1 -2 miles from my parents on three Canyons rd there in Hereford when you were on Ramsey rd. The west side of the Hauchuca mts is the AZ wine country. The mountains are gorgeous to see too.
I was excited that you got to meet Sterling! My wife & I were going to head to AZ last month for a week (we live in SoCal), but that damn virus had other plans for me. Bisbee is such a cool town, we stayed there a few years ago, and can’t wait to go back. Another great video, keep up the good work!

I have broken hitches with rough roads, usually that double dip back to back in roads that it really torture on hitches. Just found your channel and been binge watching as much as I can. Can't wait for more adventures

Hi from up by the eastern side of the white mountains. I off grid outside of St Johns and anything under a 40 mph wind is just a small breeze. We up to 70mph winds off and on. I just pick up a 1998 timeout that I will be pulling with my trike by summer or sooner. Keep safe and upright. I have over 10 miles bad dirt road to get to blacktop. Use to ride my trike in and out but after breaking the shocks I now trailer both bikes into town.
Another good one guy’s, it 👀 looks really hot but I see your not always in t-shirts .You certainly eat well your food creations look 👀 really good makes me wanna join you for lunch .How long do you stay places on average? . Enjoy the videos. I noticed when you putting stakes in the ground you drove them straight down into the ground. a suggestion from my tent camping days. Drive your stakes at a 45 degree angle they will be stronger against a wind.
When we were considering our purchase of the Trailmaster Sentry camper, I was not satisfied with the hitches available on the market, so I bought the two different types available, the vertical quick mount and the horizontal mount. I combined the best features of both and had my local metal fabricator cut mine out with my cardboard template. Still have it on the Harley and it has never bent, broke of failed in any way. 2009 Road Glide. The Sentry, like your Bunkhouse, can get overloaded on the tongue, even b accident. I'll send you some photos by email...
Loved the happy ending to this adventure. Especially the arriving to camp after dark and the sounds of the night! Your video making skill is incredible. Great audio and video. (especially your balanced sound levels)
Wow, bending that thick of a plate (hitch) is a lot of force. I'd definitely check the actual trailer as well to make sure it isn't tweeked as well. Tube steel is definitely stronger but wow.
Hi Chris and Richard. My daughter-in-law sells a product that I’m sure that you will like. You were using tomato paste in a tube in this episode. She sells a Chipolte paste in a tube that will add flavor and spice to your dishes while on the road. It is sold online at Amazon. Olo foods Chipolte paste, I know you will love it.😁🎉. Keep up the great content.
When I lost 3rd gear in my 17 ultra, I replaced with a baker dds7, the 1st gear ratio was great , might be worth a promo letter to baker transmission!!!
I absolutely love hitting a broken down pot hole infested or dirt or gravel section of road. Makes it an adventure. Emphasis on the "section" part though. I wouldn't want to do 100 miles of it haha.
If you go down lots of gravel, check the front of your "trunk" on your trailer. A friend of mine rear tire kicked back rocks hard enough to blast a hole in his.
i know Im asking randomly but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Jared Bronson thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I haven't been following from the beginning of the adventure but...Are you using the Harley Davidson Heavy Duty drive belt? Thought I'd ask being all the extrene loading of the original belt. Good Luck on your venture!

Those scrub are the reason that cowboys wear chaps. That tent trailer is a game changer. Nice set up.

I looked could see where to find it. The road was marked as if a city road. So it may have been that and Google just assumed it was paved.
Sitting out by the fire, all you need is some hotdogs to roast and some cold suds, now you living.. Always loved Southern AZ..
So True Freddy. and we agree Southern AZ is awesome.

Man you are not kidding. it would have been weeks. Hot rod was great
Always look forward to your adventures and your positive attitude. Keep safe and enjoy .
Thank you! Will do!
Your new camper is obviously heavier than the bushtec, watch out for too much tongue weight, love your adventures!
yes for sure

If you go down lots of gravel, check the front of your "trunk" on your trailer. A friend of mine rear tire kicked back rocks hard enough to blast a hole in his.
I'll check that
Check out Kara and Nate where she has to sit on the suitcase to get it to close, at end. Yes, park there.
Love watching your adventures. Makes me hope one day to more travels on my ultra classic. Never towed a trailer though. Stay safe and venture on.👍
Thanks 👍
12:50 I’m suddenly hungry! Looks great!

Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.

Where did you get the hemi hitch for your bunkhouse and what hitch do you have on your bike? Thanks for the great videos.
Glad you're back!
Hey, thanks!
Looking at all the pasta you made, you sure you've not got film crew with you? LOL
No GPS is foolproof, regardless of settings. I have ended up on goat trails, been directed through residential areas and on occasion caught in a loop.
So true.
I haven't been following from the beginning of the adventure but...Are you using the Harley Davidson Heavy Duty drive belt? Thought I'd ask being all the extrene loading of the original belt. Good Luck on your venture!
Thanks for another great adventure! Curious about the bike covers you are using. Are they water proof or just used to keep them clean? Thanks :)
