- In this week’s episode we go to Los Algodones in Mexico for some much-needed dental, optical & prescriptions. Located near Yuma, AZ, Los Algodones is a small border town known for its overabundance of dental offices, optical clinics and pharmacies. In the nomad community, traveling to Mexico has become very popular because of its very reasonable and affordable prices.

A nite in a nice motel every once and a while really lifts your spirits when your traveling a lot. You two are real troopers and a great inspiration to us all. Wish you all the best.
So true about the nice motel once in a while.
Love the content you guys! Keep it up. Other motovlogers tend to wear on you after a few months, you are different. Love it and thank you for again making my day.
Awesome thanks
Boy, glad you found a station. Been there and done that with my fingers crossed even on the throttle. Lol That is a relief that you can't explain when you find one and the bike is still running. Thanks for another video. Great job again.
Thanks Rod! Yes, running completely out of gas is no fun and something we try to never do again.
Rod. Me too. Years ago heading from Ohio to Northern Mich. Passed several army convoys while giving them the thumbs up/waving/saluting them for quite a few miles. Looked at my gas gauge and it was almost on E. I thought to myself how embarising it would be if I ran out of gas and the army convoys passed by me. Lucky for me I did finally find a gas station but I was about on fumes. That was too close for comfort
We coasted into the small town of Redstone in Colorado on fumes- and they had no gas and no cell service! We had a great lunch in the old hotel though but had to use a landline to call AAA to bring a couple gallons of gas! Could have been worse!
Maybe some will find it. When I lost mine, someone saw me on TH-cam and contacted me he found it. He was nice to mail it back to me. I use a tether on the GoPros now. Great Video And Thanks For Sharing My Friends!
Yes tethers are connected now.
I’m proud of you guys keep on doing what you doing. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks Stan !
A RidgeRest foam sleeping pad, cut into two - maybe three or four? - pieces furnish a comfy pad on which to stand while showering or working, portable cushion for sitting, kneeling on while working on a bike or oil changes, etc. A whole one is nice to lay on while working on the bottom of a bike. You all are stars at getting along. My wife and I drove truck and being in each other's hip pockets all the time is tough. We did pretty well but no comparison to you all. Hope you have a great trip.
Another great video where I am truly impressed with how you two have coordinated to have a smooth trailer set up also I raised my eyebrows at how Rich man handled that heavy trailer into place. Thanks for all that you do to bring smiles to many faces.
Adapt, overcome, Conquer is our saying. Thanks and we are glad you enjoy.
I spent a month riding down in Mexico in 2002 and was much further down in country. First thing I’ll say is that it’s a beautiful country with some amazing national treasures. Beyond that, on our ride out of the country, one of our riders was hit head on by a bus near Durango. Very long story short, after 2 days and paying bribes to Mexican cops, soldiers and Red Cross ambulance drivers I had her on a med evac jet headed to Texas. I’ll still remember that ride for the rest of my life mostly for all the good things but a few bad things.
Before anyone wants to criticize, I’ve worked in several countries, including China so I’m not unaware of the nuances of being a guest in another country.
You guys have breakdown all set. That site is awesome. You just keep on adding to my bucket list. Be safe and enjoy the journey
Awesome! Thank you!
Every time I watch your videos I think of how amazing you two are. While I do take quite a few bike trips every year, and I do enjoy camping, but with our 32 foot travel trailer, for some reason, the hotel thing is more for me. Take care and keep it up.
Our pleasure!
You two are so congenial and polite with other. True love. It took my wife and I about 40 yrs. to reach that state.
Too funny, David!!
BMWMOA is having their National rally at Great Falls, MT. Curious as to whether or not you attend rallies.
I really appreciate your honesty when times are great and when they are crappy. I could definitely see it all over Richards face Lol 😂 reminds me of me when I'm tired and spent. Always interesting stuff and my wife and I have seen some places you've been to that we now want to check out.
I Wish you guys a good and safe travels over the remainder of the Winter like weather your enduring and better weather moving forward this Spring.
This is the best video yet! The driving footage, the set up and take down..... the narration and organization of the video. Also I'm impressed how you two process life on the road and overcome your challenges! You nailed it~!
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Michael
I think you two are great! Thank you.
Ahhhhhh. Thanks.
Thank you Rich and Chris! I discovered your channel in mid January and watched every video from the beginning. Finally caught up! Absolutely love your videos. Helped this poor Canuck get through a long winter 😂.
Awesome glad you enjoyed. We hope to get to Canada soon.
Super videos...super new lifestyle....thanks for taking us along...stay safe !!!
Hey guys. Great job. Enjoyed the ride along. Happy trails.
Thanks Ward
I learned after several Sturgis trips Always tether the GoPros. The mounts are notorious for breaking.
Yep. Lessened learned
Calamity is relative: blew a piston on my Honda 450 outside Post, TX in 1975. A kind sheriff loaded his car with all my gear and dropped it off at the city park while my fellow traveler pulled my bike with his Triumph to the park and the next day to Lubbock. Try negotiating a traffic circle being pulled by another bike. My parents wired me the money to fix the bike. I had $1.50 in my pocket when I arrived home in SD.
In ‘97, while on a solo 10,000 mile trip on my new Honda Valkyrie riding 75 mph, I broadsided an antelope. Since I rolled, slid and bounced along for quite a distance, I remember thinking that this wasn’t very much fun. The National Cycle windshield stopped the antelope from hitting me, so a new radiator and headlight had me on my way. Three weeks later an old truck turned left into a field just as I was passing it. I still have blue paint on my leather jacket and tire rubber marks were added to my already scratched up white helmet. The driver of the truck had no license, no insurance, no working lights on the truck.
So...count your blessings and enjoy doing what you can while you can.
You guys are awesome, love your setup and following you!
Be safe and have fun!!
It’s been pretty good. We do like the comforts
I'm so glad Bob introduced me to you guys!
Welcome Babs
It is a bummer when things go south but glad your looking up and moving on. 👍🏻❤️
Thanks. We couldn’t change anything so you can’t dwell on it. That’s too much energy
The cast iron tacos look great. You need to write a cookbook for your camping recipes.
Hi guys - great video! Don't be scared of front braking on loose surfaces especially with an ABS bike. Avoid the ruts :)
👍👍
You two are an inspiration. God Bless
We are glad to hear this. Thanks.
Boy this brings back memories. We wintered in Yuma for several years and spent a lot of time out there on the lake. We actually miss Yuma in a way. Loving your tent trailer but boy does it look heavy. I just bought my first utility trailer that we will be using this summer. Dr. Aberlardo Norzagaray is our dentist in Algodones. Wish we knew you were going to be there. We have friends who live in Algodones and know where the really good food is. Love this video
Our son was station in Yuma, and yes the winter storm was crazy here in Dallas..
Yes we were following that storm and so glad that we weren't in it on the bikes. Doesn't sound like it was any fun for those who had houses. Hope everything went OK for ya'll.
Wow, what great looking nachos!! Hope you guys are doing well. "Enjoy The Ride".
Awesome Billy those nachos did work out well.
Good info on personal necessities. I don't think most people have that in mind planning their trips. Thanks for sharing your adventures. 👍😎
Thanks David. So true. With no home to go back to we have found that we need to come up with some creative solutions to things we took for granted before. But it's worth it.
Loved the visual of cooking showing the process.
Mexico looked very interesting after what we hear about the USA and Mexico over here in the uk .
Glad you got dentist and optician appointment sorted .
you guys always make me smile
Your videos are so real. Life on the road with all the hassles and all the highs. Incredibly entertaining and your riding footage is awesome.
Those round pebble roads are terrible. I need to visit that camping spot. Loved Yuma when I was there but it was almost summer and pretty hot. Off to Lake Havasu, which I heartily recommend.
Happy travels down south.👍
Thanks 👍
Great video !!! I'm so jealous of you folks. Love that area. Course, in about a month from now, you will be heading due north to get out of the heat !!! Lol.
Yep as soon as the weather get warm we’re rollin north.
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy watching you two and your adventures.
Thanks Jerry
WOW! U Guys are fantastic! I am in the process of converting a shuttlebus and adding a deck on the back for my bike. I always wanted to ride a motorcycle since I was a little kid. Now I do! It took a tragic loss of the love of my life to get me to finally register for the bike course in 2009. A few different bikes later and now its been 12 years of great experiences and yes, of course, going down in traffic. No way that would stop me from riding. I really hope we get a chance to meet out there, that's my plan, first to BC from ONT then south along the California coast. I never thought of a trailer and the bike before but you guys intrigue me. I also ride with me amazing little pooch, Zadie. She's so cool! Gonna start a channel of my own too. I am re inspired, thanx!
Best of luck, Christine! I'm sure you and Zadie will have grand adventures.
Wow what a beautiful spot guys...enjoy.
Yes that spot was beautiful. Not what we expected for desert Arizona.
You guys are a awesome couple I enjoy all your video’s, me and my two brothers are planning a 8000 mile trip in June, we are from Boston and heading for the west coast, they each ride a BMW Adventure bike and I am on my dream bike 2020 Harley Heritage...hey keep up the good work 😊
You two seem to be having a great time
We are. Thanks.
Nice couple. Enjoy your adventure and keep safe on all your travels
Thank you! Will do!
Awesome adventures. We look forward to see your next one. Ride safe.
Didn’t know you could go across the border great video thanks for sharing 🇺🇸🇺🇸
You bet, Jim!
Great video guys! Really enjoyed it!
Thanks
We use the shower tent as toilet tent also.
You two are a great team! You roll with it... keep a great attitude, and make the best of things...
With my bike (2007 HD Deluxe) I peek in the tank. It only holds 5 gallons... and truth be told, I’ve coasted in to get fuel.
You must have spoke to Sterling, when you were in Bisbee... his Baha adventure looked amazing. Have fun, ride safe, and thank you for the video!
And the Nachos still looked great! Crunchy, munchy, and delicious!
Thanks Randall! Yes, we've coasted in a few times as well, but once ran out of gas and hope to never have that happen again.
You should go to Porta Penasco there’s a great campground on the beach or splurge a little and stay at the dream weaver hotel they have a garage to park your bikes. Trust me you will love it !
You had me at Tacos!
Wow parking lot seems empty going into Mexico. Normally full. 😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
Always nice to follow you on your Journey 👍
Gooday guys from western Australia, just a sort one your Windows roll them up it will save the zips
Great tip. Thanks
I sure have been enjoying your adventures! Thanks for sharing with us. I am curious as to the brand of cell phone holders you're using on your bikes.
Just so you’re aware there’s a great gringo-friendly hotel in Los Algodones. California Comfort Inn & Suites. Easy to ride to on your bikes and they’re safe in the small courtyard under 24 hour security surveillance. I was there for 3 days a couple months ago.
Good video guys you have had a few draw backs but there is a light at the end of the tunnel hopefully take care and ride safe
Thanks Tom.
Good Day to the both of you I've been following your adventures I have seen where you've had to buy ice for your cooler, Have you ever thought about a battery power cooler it also can have a freezer in it or without it may save you on ice, and loosing food to fast
We have but do not have the power for that.
your shower tent is called a pop up fishing bivvy we use them all the time in the uk because it rains all the time
Great camping at Buenos Aires. Try taking 85 to Ajo
Thanks for the tip!
Rich 🥴🥴
Be nice to Chris 💐💐💐💐💐💐😇😇
Just love u guys - amazing experience what you have given us all 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Awesome video 👌👌🤗🤗👍
Thanks
Another great video guys! Thank you for the work you put in!
I love this cargo tent for you guys!!! And you cover your bikes.
Always enjoy your videos cannot go wrong with Coleman stove cast iron frying pan
You got that right!
Street Food Venders are the best! .... What air pressure are you running on the tires for the bunkhouse camper?
My faviourite vid on a usaley cold grey Scottish morning guys..
That sunrise got a like from me
Awesome Thanks 🤩
Good video guys ride safe
Thanks Jeff
I see that you have 9 dislikes, I scrolled down trying to find them but I couldn't. Who would dislike your videos?, who has such dislike for good people and nice living, what a bunch of scrooges.
I love your videos, keep it up.
Hi Rich, noticing a trend here...dirt road -camping...dirt road - camping...LOL, I had one of my GoPro mounts break and had my Session bounce across the road. Now I go with if it's a plastic mount I tether it down. Interesting going across the border. wee you not concerned with bring the prescription back? All the best, Cheers Dave
Ha🤣 yep Dirt Camp. You can fill prescriptions you just can bring back narcotics.
When I saw you putting the green onions into the skillet, I am like, "oh boy, you should wait and sprinkle them at the end..." and sure enough, you too had the same idea. I've cooked them plenty of times too cause I'm chopping multiple things and dont set them apart and into the skillet they go....I could always kick myself. 🤣🤣
That Mexican border town sure has alot of great benefits. Tacos looked yummy.
Stay safe. Cant wait til next sunday!
Thanks Q A! Glad I'm not the only one who gets carried away with the cooking. Just love those scallions sprinkled on top and not cooked to pieces, but what can you do.
I go there for all dental and eye glasses, luv it.
It is pretty awesome i must say
So after South Dakota you bought or opened up the bike covers.
Also the rubik cube shock pole systems are so much fun.
Yes we purchased Covers before we started season 3
You might want to start using a lanyard on your GoPros. I have used them since I put them on the bike and helmet (5 years) and have had it save me a camera twice now. The mount broke and the lanyard kept it from falling to the road.
when you say make a water run refills not buying new water I'll bet that would really add up quick looks like the most economical and enjoyment two people could have to see this beautiful country just wondering if you don't mind how is it pulling the camper ?
Thanks. The Smart Water has the best bottles to refill. The trailer is pulling great we love it.
Enjoyed e adventure,
Hey guys you got one excellent spot there I could stay there for ages ,Chris ! thought you were not gonna cook to much .Guys you live like kings the food looks great , I guess the facilities leave a bit to be desired but hey it's free no ? , how cool is your shower set up likin that . Are you not able to go into Mexico for a tour around and how come you had to walk across the border and leave the bikes . Great watch guys take care : )
Thanks 👍. The shower has worked real well for us. We parked the bikes because you need alot documentation for the bike to go across, plus its takes much longer.
Los Algadones a great place for dental work!
It is.
Always enjoy the videos, and there are no words for how much I admire y’all’s spirit for doing this. Chris...I too have a channel, but wonder what type of gimbal you’re using?
Love watching your videos. Is there a reason you don't migrate South in the winter.. Like some of the nomad bikers do 😎
We are planning for travel into Mexico next fall. But for now we are in southern AZ
wife and I ride 2 up on our 05 ultra. gas light came on riding hwy 31 going east. not long after leaving la pine, Oregon. last fuel up was in Bend, Oregon. we made it to the 395. heres this old tiny gas station, had a little hand written note will open at 1. we were there like 8:30. so we sat. we put in 5.2 gallons in a five gallon tank. rode south on the 395. maybe a half a mile. heres this Chevron station sign saying open 24/7. 🤣
That's a funny story! So true!
I'm dazzled by you guys. If I ever go camping, I want to take you with me!
Keep us posted if/when you are out and about. You just never know where we're going to be wandering to and might meet up.
life itself is all about adapting and being able to over come "the curve balls" thrown at us... the key is to still go forward..... to enjoy what ever life we decide to live.... the toilet gives a whole new meaning to "airing out".....lol..... ya'll ride safe..😎😎
Thanks
Love your videos. Thanks
Thanks Betty Jo! Glad you like them.
Hi Rich, just a question: Does the Camper’s heim joint fits the same hitch pin as the Bushtec trailer? Keep the sunny side up. Pieter
No it does not. This is 3/4” Heim joint pin.
Broken potato chips or corn chips are always delicious in tomato soup. I never eat tomato soup without potato chips in it.
Awesome great idea Love it.
We would love to watch your vids in order but it seems many are missing. Am I missing something?
I have a 2012 Dyna with the 103 c.i., I wonder how your Harley clutch handles the trailer over the long term. I have done a lot of bike camping, but have contemplated getting a small trailer.
I had the clutch replaced the week between bought this camper. So we’ll see. So far no issues with her
Good stuff
I’ve got a Mr. buddy heater I bought used for the pole barn unfortunately my pole barn is rather large. Good and bad so I drop some plastic to enclose my work area and it helps I wouldn’t mind having two of them or one larger heater but it works
I had a 2009 FOH I bought new and I had it for about 10 years and I found that when the light would come on it was about the same amount as what you put in your tank. I have a much older bike now and I use a stick to see how much gas I have in there I guess that would be old-school😂
Nothing wrong with old school!! Sometimes that's the best way to get things done.
Hi Chris and Richard. You look so much better without the long hair. So I was curious to know how your cell phone service has been working for you as far as using GPS? Also, do you two plan on doing this lifestyle forever?
Thanks short hair is easier for sure. Cell service has been good so far. As for this lifestyle we will be Nomads for sometime for sure.
Awesome video!
Hey guys, I use a wind slayer on my GoPro’s, cheap online but makes a huge difference, the day you guys were having I hope you didn’t eat the sticker on that apple 🤣
Another great video. Just curious... what kind of Shoei’s are y’all wearing?
They are the Neotec 2
I won a go-pro in a raffle - fell off the bike on a Arizona freeway...bye-bye! 😆
Bummer
I know your pain. Phone fell off when I hit a huge pothole today. I found it, but it was toast. Best of luck in your travels!
Thanks Greg. Yes it's so sad when we lose our toys. Well, I actually think a phone is probably more important than a camera. Sorry for your loss.
Hi Can I just comment on the BMW,, I have an RT and I always put the bike on the main stand,,its a good habit to form,, another thing do,nt you just hate those BMW panniers (all style and no thought) ok love the channel,,love the chat,,and the can do style!!!!! I,v one year left todo, then I,m outta here...regards
Cool thanks.
Have you thought about a water filter, then you have to go and get water ?
