Electric Playground is still around?! Wow, I remember watching you as a kid! 15 years later it's showing up in my recommended again. Definitely checking you out for reviews now!
There can never be too much Burnout Paradise in my life. I've played it to 101% with all 500 online challenges on the PS3, lost my saves, did the same again, found the Remaster on PC, played it to 101%, then recently got a PS4 from a workmate, saw that Burnout Paradise Remastered exists, bought it immediately and 101%ed it again... now, it's on Switch, too, so off I go again... I just hope there are more people online than on the PS4. That being said I usually don't even like racing games, but Burnout Paradise is something else entirely. I never expected for a racing game to be my undisputed top game on PS3. It just feels perfect and has ruined any other racing game for me. Especially the sense of speed is unmatched. I'm somewhat convinced that they actually mirror real life speeds in the game, but what do I know. Also, Jansen X12 Carbon is such a gamebreaking thing. Getting it as the first special car trivializes the majority of the game, with race opponents often not even passing the halfway mark when you're at the target. Stupid fun.
Need For Speed, Most Wanted released in 2012 was for all intents and purposes the spiritual successor to Burnout Paradise. Developed by Criterion as well it's got all the hallmarks...smash gates, billboards, risk and reward.
If they do make a burnout paradise 2 I think there are a few improvements they should make: improve the handling of vehicles especially the motorbikes, give the option of setting waypoints or fast travel so you can visit previously visited areas without getting lost so easily , make it less easier to crash EVERY SINGLE TIME
I absolutely love this game! However I want EA to come up with a brand new burnout game, not keep selling the same game that's 10 years old. Don't get me wrong, having this game on the switch is awesome!!!
I loved both Blur and Split/Second, it's just unfortunate that the studios for both those games where shutdown after they were both released. Why is it that after a studio makes a really good racing game some overhead company causes them to fizzel out. :( EA, bring back Burnout! Activision, Bring back Blur! Disney, bring back Split/Second!
What? NOW on sale in PS4 for 12.99 $ his real price is 24.99$ !!! And with gamepass is Free! (And ,yes , very too expensive, on the Switch ,in sale, it’s a must have!)
I paid $5 for my 360 version at a flea market. Totally worth it. I like Burnout 3, revenge, and the other ps2 sequel after that more than this. This was still good, but to have to drive back to the beginning of a race/event was retarded (which is what this game made you do. The others didn't have that.)
Yes, not to mention that you are able to play it on the go with 720p/60fps, get all the DLC and Oh, it´s a remaster - so they have done quite a lot of work into porting it to the switch. That´s probably not worth the money, right? I have it on Xbox One X plus on the Switch Lite for on the go. Unbeatable.
Why? Even the old game on ps3 just realize the x bottom for acceleration. I mean, it's not a simulation like grid. This game does not need that. Tbh, i hope i can map the controls how i am used to it on ps3. Then i can perfectly drift xD
Looking back at Nintendo controllers , the GameCube stands out with its triggers . They never seem to respond to games correctly or I was useless with them , was that Nintendo’s one time using this style trigger button? Switch has same one touch button for its triggers like most of their consoles except our mate cube.
but why 50 bucks, even the remaster on ps4 and x1 only was 40 new, and has been on sale for under 10 several times by now. does it at least have all the music?
I love this game but that price is insane, 65 bucks in Canada. And the worst part is I might have to do it just for the possibility they port over Dragon Age Origins to the Switch if this does well.
Until this game came out for switch my favorite burnout was Legends on PSP. Paradise kicks some serious ass on switch. Can't justify the retail price but I found it for fifteen bucks at the pawn shop. lucky me.
I am a burnout slacker, gave up after point if impact on the GameCube , so cool why continue? Nah I played other versions. This is 20 dollars right now on switch bargain
Most wanted was also great and even more Burnout, just with cops. Hot Persuit was great, but also remembered on the old hot persuit parts. They done a great job.
Funny last year I was play tf outta burnout legends on my psp and conveniently enough now we have paradise on switch. These games are great gotta love em.
I kinda had a love hate thing for Burnout Paradise. The addition of the open world was unique in the series, though combined with the crash physics, I often found the experience too much to deal with in a way that compromised the fun factor as compared to the previous games in the series. Contending with the opponents, physics, and traffic in a linear track at mach10 is enough. The truly greatest Burnout game in my opinion is ironically not a burnout game but made by Criterion anyway, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2011. THAT game deserves a remaster. So open world racers never quite stuck with me in that way, but recently NFS Heat released, and with the removal of over the top crashes, I actually find the open world style much more enjoyable. Still, I can't lie I didn't pour many hours into Paradise and enjoyed it for what it is.
Yeah I kind of agree I actually prefer the crew on PS4 which to me handles better and actually features the option of setting waypoints and fast travel something that paradise doesn’t have at all and is very useful
I got this for the switch yesterday for the sale price of £14.99 and.......I thought it was ok but was very easy to get lost and to me the handling especially on the bikes was terrible also don’t like how you can’t set waypoints or revisit previous visited areas quickly. I much prefer the crew on PS4 which to me feels more fun has better handling and in that game you CAN set waypoints and visit previously visited areas, the crew is open world but still gives you helpful navigational advice
Awesome review Victor. I agree that it's great and that it can play and look pretty darn well on a Switch. Burnout 3 is still my fave Burnout game and I still play it on my 360 (C'mon Microsoft and EA make it BC on Xbox One as well, please?) Burnout Paradise is fun, but I HATE that you have to drive over to your next challenge. I'd rather you select a challenge from a list. Small compliant, still a fun game.

Good feedback! I've talked about this game a ton over the years because it first came out in 2008(!) -- Essentially it was Crtierion's racing take on a Grand Theft Auto-style open world game. The idea was to never stop racing around and discovering. The purpose of the game is to explore, find everything, unlock all the cars, participate in the events, level up on your license and to also join and compete against friends and opponents in the pretty seamlessly integrated online portion of the game. There have been lots of refinements and additions to the foundations that the Criterion team put together for Burnout Paradise (notably the recent but IMHO, inferior, Need for Speed Heat) but the reason why we're still talking about Burnout Paradise 12 years later is because it was an extraordinarily fun and polished game to begin with and the Remastered versions take the visuals up to modern standards. I think you may enjoy Burnout Paradise more than Top Gear 2 if you give it a shot. :)
Man if we get a gameplay trailer if Lego Star Wars the skywalker saga now that would definitely become a dream coming true if that would definitely would becomes true if that would happens.
No first person view like GRID or NFS? Pass. Please give us NFS. My comment is not meant to take away from your nuggets enjoyment of the game. I just prefer behind the wheel view.

Man if we get a gameplay trailer if Lego Star Wars the skywalker saga now that would definitely become a dream coming true if that would definitely would becomes true if that would happens.
Too expensive IMO
50 bucks LOL didn't I pay like $5 on steam for this game? roflmao.
Word!
No mention of how obscenely overpriced it is? Mmk
Those graphics look *terrible* compared to PS4 Pro / One X!
You are right. I love it on my Switch Lite, but on TV, Xbox One X is the best choice.
No first person view like GRID or NFS? Pass. Please give us NFS. My comment is not meant to take away from your nuggets enjoyment of the game. I just prefer behind the wheel view.
It has First Person View
I am usually preferring fpv, but in this game, they did a great job in terms of car feel also in 3rd person view.
The x button switches to a first person view and also you can have a full screen view from behind you
