  • I visit the beautiful Jacobean House in the Cotswolds. I explore the lovely gardens, uncover a little of its history, and have a look inside the house.

What an interesting property, I particularly enjoyed the gardens, love a long border. You see in the history of many of these places that ownership is something of a millstone about the neck.

Thank you! Yes, so much responsibility and overheads. It is amazing that it has survived to be honest. I really my visit here. Thank you 🙂Take care, Paul 👍

The grounds were so calm and peaceful. Paul your beautiful videography combined with the lovely music you always select are a delight. The flowers were extraordinary. The stills of the interior were very well done as all your photography always is. I loved reading the little history bits. Was a wonderful memorable watch, and I thank you for it sir. 🤩 KUDOS 🫡🫡🫡

Thank you Don! That's very kind of you. It is one of the National Trust's lesser known properties, certainly underrated. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. God Bless you, Paul 🙏

Thank you Alice! Thanks so much for joining me on the tour of the house and garden. Certainly a fascinating place, and different to a lot of NT houses in terms of how it is presented. Thanks again, take care, Paul 🙂👍

Very enjoyable video Paul! It looks like a really interesting place to visit! Excellent photography! I loved the long pan out and also the orange transition 🤗

Thank you Louise! Yes, I have been trying some new photo & video transitions in the editing software, and the settings inside them. That 'Long Gallery' was fantastic! I got lucky with the photo because of the look of astonishment on the visitors faces looking at the gallery. I was amazed too! I was very impressed with the house and the grounds. Glad you liked it. Take care, Paul 👍🙂

Thank you Paul. Great video, photos and background music. I read about The Cavalier Arthur fleeing back to Chastleton after the Battle of Worcester in 1651 and his wife Sarah helping him hide and drugging the Roundheads who had come looking for him. 🐎🌳🗡🗡

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland
What a magnificant house church and gardens. Incredible history and untouched too. I really enjoyed the tour of this unique property where the rules of croquet were invented! Gorgeous still photogrpahs. You certainly captured the magic of this place.
Superb video. Thanks so much for producing it. Loved it!

Hi Roy! Yes, it is far too hot for me, although I did a 'Short Bite' at sunrise this morning when it was a lot cooler. Looking forward to the rain 🌧️ next week and cooler conditions so I can get out properly again 📷📹Take care, Paul 🙂👍

    • @westcountrywanderings

Hi Ron, I was only aware of it recently after scanning the NT Handbook - not heard of it before. It seems to have a much lower profile than Snowshill, Coughton Court and Hidcote, possibly because of narrow range of opening times. I am glad I got the opportunity to go though. Wonderful place 🙂👍 Cheers Paul

@@westcountrywanderings also one of the backdrops used by the ‘Father Brown’ series. Mark Williams used to stay at the hotel where I used to work. Always up for a bit of banter was Mark, and a really likeable guy.🙂
